August 31, 201412 yr Blame It On Me, Dance On My Own and Amnesia all top 40 on sales alone :( Edited August 31, 201412 yr by Jason
August 31, 201412 yr 'Babooshka' and 'The Man With the Child in His Eyes' losing out on Top 100 placings due to streaming. :( Thankfully the fact all her albums are in the Top 50 makes up for that!
August 31, 201412 yr Lethal Bizzle #8 on sales is very impressive! Good to see as it's far better than 'The Drop'. Look at what the charts say Lethal and stick to the grime.
August 31, 201412 yr Union J dropping 9 to 74  I think they'll do a Pixie Lott this era and follow up a floppy #9 hit with a massive flop 2nd single and album (although it won't miss the top 100 because of their fanbase)
August 31, 201412 yr Union J dropping 9 to 74  I think they'll do a Pixie Lott this era and follow up a floppy #9 hit with a massive flop 2nd single and album (although it won't miss the top 100 because of their fanbase) can't see them flopping THAT badly really, their fanbase alone will guarantee a top 20 hit at the very least (plus Capital FM will still support them). What a terrible drop for them this week though  shame Indiana's new single didn't do anything (as expected), still got another single release before the album tho
August 31, 201412 yr Blame It On Me, Dance On My Own and Amnesia all top 40 on sales alone :( Not bothered about Amnesia but as for the others I'm gutted they've missed out in favour of Vance Joy for instance. streaming has just completely stalled the charts worse than before they were added
August 31, 201412 yr  Union J. Ouch for Indiana, although not unexpected. Gutted for Indiana, don't know what went wrong its a great single and Radio 1 supported it :( That drop for Union J though  don't think it will be long before they get dropped or one of them goes on one of those Z list celebrity reality shows after Christmas
August 31, 201412 yr Radio 1 chart show needs a revamp, Nos 21 to 40 don't need playing every week its getting boring now listening to the same tracks week after week, just a few new entries, extend the album chart, and play new tracks from within the top 75.
August 31, 201412 yr streaming has just completely stalled the charts worse than before they were added http://www.nemumpoucoepico.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/thats-brand-new-information.gif Edited August 31, 201412 yr by SKOB
August 31, 201412 yr Did Rixton really only get 5 weeks top 40 on the sales chart? That's abysmal for a number 1.
August 31, 201412 yr can't see them flopping THAT badly really, their fanbase alone will guarantee a top 20 hit at the very least (plus Capital FM will still support them). What a terrible drop for them this week though  I'm not convinced the fanbase will get them Top 20 with the next release as bands with similar fanbase such as The Wanted, JLS, The Saturdays and even 1D etc have proved. Will be interesting to see what support they get from media for the follow up.
August 31, 201412 yr Author I'm not convinced the fanbase will get them Top 20 with the next release as bands with similar fanbase such as The Wanted, JLS, The Saturdays and even 1D etc have proved. Will be interesting to see what support they get from media for the follow up. The Wanted, JLS and 1D have never missed the top 20 with a pre-album single and The Saturdays only did so for the first time the other week, which was much further into their career than Union J are! I'm sure Union J will easily manage another top 20 single if not top 10. Having now heard the new Indiana song a couple of times I really like it and it sounds no less like a hit than 'Solo Dancing' to me! Shame to see it not even going top 75.
August 31, 201412 yr The Wanted, JLS and 1D have never missed the top 20 with a pre-album single and The Saturdays only did so for the first time the other week, which was much further into their career than Union J are! I'm sure Union J will easily manage another top 20 single if not top 10 Correct - However none of them had a 2 week chart run for a lead single either which makes me think a 2nd sizeable hit for UJ will be tough this era pre-album or otherwise. I hope they don't struggle as I really like them but I personally think this was their last chance to make an impact.
August 31, 201412 yr Author Correct - However none of them had a 2 week chart run for a lead single either which makes me think a 2nd sizeable hit for UJ will be tough this era pre-album or otherwise. I hope they don't struggle as I really like them but I personally think this was their last chance to make an impact. Well JLS did have a 2 week chart run with 'Billion Lights' (19-70-x) :kink: Of course Union J won't achieve another 'sizeable' hit (none of their hits to date really qualify for that) but one week in the top 20 is very achievable with their fanbase. Keep in mind that their latest single actually matched their debut on sales alone so I think for their next single they'll be in no worse a position than they were when 'Beautiful Life' came out.
August 31, 201412 yr They have a LOT of money behind them and clearly a decent fanbase who are the only people buying their singles. Assuming they can shift 20k worth of singles to their fanbase, they ought to find a more accessible single to win over casual music buyers. Carry You, Beautiful Life and Tonight are all 7/10 pop songs, perfectly fine but with very little substance or wide appeal. They all have decent-ish hooks that feel like they're striving to be ten times bigger. If they find a KILLER pop song next, they could bag themselves a top five. If they keep peddling album filler as singles then it'll be all over very soon.
