The midweek releases and OA/OS strategy when not everyone was releasing this way really irritated me at the time. Judas and The Edge of Glory dropping down the charts and not recovering as well as I hoped they would was annoying when you think how well they'd have peaked and sold if held back.

The Edge Of Glory could’ve easily been top 3, Born This Way. #1 and Applause a top 3 If they’d had a full debut week or a pre order. With Judas I feel it might’ve been not much different or.. a high first week peak then a quicker decent down the charts with it being quite polarising.

It’s interesting with Gaga though that UK singles wise none of her #1 singles actually debuted at number one they all climbed there. Albums wise The Fame and the re release both climbed to #1 too. But all her other #1 albums debuted there.

I think even though her peak positions have been negatively affected by the release strategies, her sales and chart runs have benefited greatly in the long run so it all levels out!

Easily, it was SUCH a stupid decision to randomly move the release forward two days.

I think it sold about 180k across its first 7 days on sale, that would have been a bumper first week #1.

I still think about this very regularly!

I’ve explained it to non chart followers and they’re just like what   but it’s so frustrating!

Is it weird I’m a bit glad it didn’t peak at #2 and it peaked at #3 though.

A #2 peak would’ve just made it even more annoying at least there was two tracks ahead both weeks it was #3 rather than just one.

Yesss!!!

The Fame coming for 200 weeks in top 100

ASIB is probably getting the highest streams for her catalogue too

Wonder where that would’ve been this week had it been allowed on main albums / what it’s total sales were this last week.

WHOAAAA wonder how many units ASIB got this week... shame it's ineligible for official album chart.

1,542 this week [342 physicals, 88 downloads, 1,112 streaming], its total is now 529,734. It would have been #71 if it was still eligible!

The Fame sold 1,389 [187 physicals, 21 downloads, 1,181 streaming], total - 3,058,534. Interesting that The Fame streaming is better than A Star Is Born this week. This is its 259th week in the Top 200!

I wonder how much TFM sold on its own, in terms of the actual CD with the black and white cover?

Kind of wish it had been a separate release altogether :D

OCC have revealed that Telephone is on 999k  so will definitely pass 1m as of tomorrow's chart.

Can’t believe it’s 10 year since that was UK #1!

Yessssss to her getting another million seller too.

So she’s on 5 after tomorrow? :yahoo:

Yep, five songs passing 1m! Next will be 'Born This Way' which should be on ~950k.

This was the quote from the OCC:

Telephone was a fifth Number 1 for Queen Bey and a fourth for Gaga, and to date has logged a somewhat frustating 999,000 chart sales, including 27.1 million audio streams since records began in 2014.
