...'Radar', sound like such a smash/amazing on 'Blackout', but tacked on the end of 'Circus' (same song and all) it just sounds... "good, but not great"?

Is it because knowing it should have been the original 3rd single (4th at least) from 'Blackout', it just seems pointless as part of 'Circus'?

Is it because 'Blackout' is just a flawless album from start to finish, so it sounds so odd being released as a single at the end of the 'Circus' era?

It is just bizarre. I do thank the 'Circus' era for giving us that horse in the video though. Pretty iconic moment.

This is a question I ask myself on a regular basis!! I even asked it in one of the recent rounds of the current comp!

I think it's because it FITS on Blackout. And it just doesn't on Circus. I also think the fact they made it a single over Shattered Glass or Unusual You (those were the picks between that and If You Seek Amy).

JUSTICE 4 UNUSUAL YOU.

I think it's a psychological thing and you know it just sounds weird when listening to the album, it's almost like an old uninvited friend gatecrashing one of your parties. (although isn't it a slightly different version too, or am I imagining that?)

I still don't quite understand the logic releasing it as the final single from the second studio album it featured on, it should've been the rightful third single from Blackout.

'Break The Ice' was the rightful and correct third single from 'Blackout'! ^_^ But 'Radar' most certainly should have been the 4th & closing single.

It's the exact same version, Aly! Lol. I remember everyone on BritneyBoards saying they would be fine with it being on the album if it were a re worked version. But, no one was okay with it being a single. It was released to fufull an agreement with Bloodshy & Avant, Britney had promised them the single treatment after 'Piece Of Me', but she wanted 'Break The Ice' instead at the time... With plans for it to be the fourth single.

I'm glad she went for, Break The Ice.

Does anyone why she didn't release it as the fourth single?

At the time, I think they (the label) wanted to forget 'Blackout' happened, as sales didn't meet expectations that they had at the time for Britney's BIG comeback since ITZ, so went on to say 'Circus' was the "proper comeback".

That's what I get from it anyway I'm sure there's probably a better excuse somewhere haha.

I do think 'Radar' would have actually done better than 'Break The Ice' ended up doing if it was released instead, but obviously we have no way of knowing that now.

BTI did quite well here in America, especially considering the circumstances. It went top 25 on US radio, and ended up peaking top 15 on iTunes. It faired well in the UK as well.

I think it showed off the more urban side of the album.
