I always think...

Born This Way - Marry The Night - The Edge Of Glory - Hair - Scheisse - Judas

would've been the best singles run - allowing the first four singles to smash internationally on a commercial scale, whilst the last two are more fan-favourites but allow Gaga to serve in the music videos / performances, whilst carrying the campaign but not charting quite as well.

Definitely agree with the first 3! After that, I'm not sure and would have to put more thought into. I don't think Judas ever should've been a single - it could've remained a fan favourite album track.

I know Judas divides a lot of fans but I love it and couldn't imagine not having the video, it's one of her best.

Also that song is too golden not to be single, no matter how much it "flopped" compared to her prior singles. Judas is recognisably Gaga. I can see why they released You and I but I wouldn't be too sad if it remained an album track, Judas on the other hand is just so Gaga, I can't see it not being a single.

it would've been a risk but I would've released Black Jesus + Amen Fashion, I think it would've intrigued the GP

Marry the Night would have definitely been a hit if pushed earlier during thar era and Scheisse was the hit that got away!
Ik this is a US chart thread but it surprises me that Marry The Night didn't go top 10 when it had an X Factor performance. What a BOP honestly

It was the 5th single and the album was already 2x platinum at that point I think, the GP were probably aware of it. It out-peaked You and I which peaked at #24.

I think you (and people in general) put too much weight on singles. MTN did pretty well for 5th single and had an epic video. Scheisse is her tour staple, she even opened her Coachella set with it so it serves its purpose very well.
It did do brilliantly for a 5th single tbh, I think it's just my love for the song that wanted it to be released earlier and have longer in the splotlight  I love the song so much!

200,000 now! In 5 days :cheeseblock:

Wow! How long did Stupid Love take to gain 200k in the US?

US albums:

ASIB is up 15 spots to #137

The Fame re-enters at #170 :cheer:

Great! Wonder if anymore of her releases will enter next week

Well done Gaga.

The Fame / The Fame Monster being her only solo albums not to reach #1 as well feels so strange though!

So proud of her though

What’s the chances of this getting a second week at #1 in the US?

Lady Gaga's scored 6 #1 albums on Billboard 200 in the shortest amount of time in just 9 years.

'Chromatica' sold 274,000 units (205,000 in pure sales)
