Was hoping Black Widow could snatch #3 this week :(

Otherwise, yay for Tove Lo and finally Clean Bandit taking off and reaching the top 10, seemed to take ages for the latter.

Finally top 10 for 'Rather Be'! Was beginning to worry it wouldn't manage it.

Oh and Tove Lo as well

FINALLY top 10 for Clean Bandit. I've been waiting for this since May but it was especially frustrating in the last few weeks. And meanwhile Tove Lo just sneaks right in at #7 which I never would have predicted three weeks ago. Unreal.

I'm stunned by seeing Tove Lo top 10 in the US! WITH THE ORIGINAL VERSION AS WELL.

Madness! I can remember when Habits came out last year in May (ish) and she had 600 followers on twitter and tweeted me back for saying it was an incredible song, a little over a year later and she has like 40,000 and has been top 10 all over the world including the US :o Made up for Clean Bandit too, Rather Be is a tune.

Wow that's amazing for Tove. Even more remarkable is that according to the US Airplay chart it's the Hippie Sabotage version that's getting all the airplay yet the original is the one bombing up the Billboard!

Because the original is the one selling and has more chart points than the remix.

Chart Watch: Women Tie All-Time Record

Female artists monopolize the top five spots on the Hot 100 for the fourth straight week. It’s only the second time in pop history (or maybe that should be herstory) that females have owned the top five for four weeks running. The same thing happened in February and March 1999. In both cases, the shut-outs involved an artist’s debut hit— Meghan Trainor's “All About That Bass” now; Britney Spears' “…Baby One More Time” then. In both cases, they involved an all-female three-way collabo—”Bang Bang” by Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj now; “Heartbreak Hotel” by Whitney Houston (featuring Faith Evans & Kelly Price) then.

"All About That Bass" is #1 for the fourth straight week in its 12th week on the chart. It’s #1 on all three of the main component charts that feed the Hot 100. It leads Radio Songs for a second week, Digital Songs for a fifth week and Streaming Songs for a fourth week. The song sold 253K copies this week. It’s just the third song to top Digital Songs for five or more weeks so far this year. It follows Pharrell Williams's “Happy” (which logged 11 weeks on top) and “Dark Horse” by Katy Perry featuring Juicy J (also five weeks).

Taylor Swift's “Shake It Off” holds at #2 for the fourth week in its sixth week on the Hot 100. The song tops the 2 million mark in digital sales this week.

Nicki Minaj's “Anaconda” rebounds from #4 to #3 in its eighth week. The song peaked at #2. The song, which samples Sir Mix-A-Lot's 1992 classic “Baby Got Back,” holds at #1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for the sixth week. You may be surprised to learn that “Baby Got Back” wasn't a big R&B hit. The song, which logged five weeks at #1 on the Hot 100, stalled at #27 on the R&B chart, which was then called Hot R&B Singles. (Billboard added Hip-Hop to the chart's name in December 1999.)

"Black Widow" by Iggy Azalea featuring Rita Ora rebounds from #5 to #4 in its 13th week. This equals its highest ranking to date.

"Bang Bang" drops from #3 to #5 in its ninth week. The song debuts at #1 on The U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. It’s Jessie J’s third #1 in her home country, following "Price Tag" (featuring B.o.B) and “Domino.” It’s Grande’s second #1 in the U.K. so far this year, following “Problem” (featuring Iggy Azalea). It’s Minaj’s first U.K. #1.

(In case you’re wondering, the other songs that ranked in the top five on the Hot 100 in those four weeks in 1999 were Monica's “Angel Of Mine,” Deborah Cox's “Nobody's Supposed To Be Here,” Cher's “Believe,” Brandy's “Have You Ever?” and Sarah McLachlan's “Angel.”)

Sam Smith's “Stay With Me” holds at #6 for the fourth week in its 25th week … Tove Lo's “Habits (Stay High)” jumps from #13 to #7 in its 18th week. This is the first Hot 100 hit for the Swedish female artist. The song reached #6 earlier this year on the U.K.'s Official Singles Chart, but with two differences. The title was just “Stay High” and Hippie Sabotage had a featured credit. Tove Lo’s debut album, Queen Of The Clouds, is expected to enter The Billboard 200 next week with sales in the 19K range.

"Break Free" by Ariana Grande featuring Zedd dips from #7 to #8 in its 13th week. It’s #1 On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for a seventh week … “Don’t Tell ‘Em” by Jeremih featuring YG jumps from #10 to #9 in its 14th week. The song samples Snap!'s 1992 hit “Rhythm Is A Dancer.” (In its enthusiastic use of the exclamation point in its name, Snap! may have influenced such current hit-makers as MAGIC!—not to mention such popular websites as Yahoo!)

Eight months after hitting #1 in the U.K., “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne finally cracks the top 10 in the U.S. The silky track jumps from #11 to #10 in its 16th week. “Rather Be” is the 10th U.K. #1 of 2014 to crack the top 10 on the Hot 100.

Two songs drop out of the top 10 this week: Sia's “Chandelier” and Charli XCX's “Boom Clap.”

"Bailando" by Enrique Iglesias featuring Descemer Bueno & Gente de Zona tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The song peaked at #12 on the Hot 100.

Dierks Bentley's “Drunk On A Plane” tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The song reached #27 on the Hot 100.

alt-J getting a Hot 100 hit!!! Shame it's with probably their worst song but at least it's something.
Looking at those 5 weeks from 1999, only 2 songs are really considered as classics...BOMT and Believe, despite Angel Of Mine being #1 for so many weeks

Not sure if anyone would class "Believe" as a classic

Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" maybe.
