Jubel, I Love It and Once all 59p? :o

Yep, and loads of other X Factor songs like Right Place Right Time, Live While We're Young, DNA, The Climb, Bad Boys, Bleeding Love etc. The 59p batch is hidden on main page so I'm not sure how much effect it will take.

I thought her new single was I Don't Care :o

Correct.

Only Human is an instant grat. And it looks to me this is the first instant grat from the album, so it must be chart eligible.

It's a bit crazy to think that only 3 songs out of the thousands that are available on iTunes have been bought more times than Jeremiah's song now.

You always say things like this, and it sounds daft. Obviously a newly released song that has had a lot of exposure and pre-orders will be being bought more than the thousands of songs available on iTunes.

It's still a strange thought though, and puts things in perspective, since people on here have a tendency to label even #1 songs (like I Wanna Feel recently) as flops.

That's not really true in this sense. People compare I Wanna Feel to the other number 1s of the year, and in comparison to those, it was a flop number 1 because it debuted at number 1, but departed very quickly and its sales didn't reach the average sales of a number 1 single.

Has this Jeremiah song had lots of exposure though? it's only just been added to the Radio 1 playlist and there doesn't appear to be a music video. Also songs like these don't normally appear so high in the chart so for those reasons a bit crazy to see it as high as it is.

"I Wanna Feel" has only sold 240,000 copies since it was released, so it is kind of an underperformance compared to the others so far.

To me it's like a Chris Brown or Usher song and both artists are usually (not always!) high on the charts :D

But those artists are well established in the UK and will at least always have a loyal fanbase that will buy any of their output. That's what makes this Jeremih track's performance even more bizarre. I actually really like the track though, so I'm certainly not complaining! :D

Even Loyal didn't get this high on iTunes though!?

Definitely a strange one, as DJ Mustard has been ubiquitous in the last 12 months, but this is the first UK smash since Feelin' Myself. The sample is so catchy though and seemingly the lack of video hasn't hindered this!

Loving its unexpected success

It is def worth a post that Jeremiah is No3 as was said its C listed on radio 1 , Capital are supporting it and 1 Xtra and thats it. Its also worth adding Rnb is nt the most popular genre at the moment - most rnb artists release pure pop nowadays!

Congrats on your job working with the 59p batch!

125. Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

It's happening!!

2014 has been much better for R&B hits though; Loyal, Good Kisser, New Flame, Na Na, Birthday and artists like Fuse ODG have obvious R&B influences in their songs!

Yeah of course there have been a decent amount of Rnb hits (and its making a comeback) but radio hasnt really followed suit in terms of airplay with the exception of Fuse ODG.

 03. Jeremih feat. YG - Don't Tell 'Em

 05. Ella Henderson - Glow

Think Capital have playlisted most of the songs I mentioned (whether they were actually played is another matter  ) R1 haven't really played any R&B except Fuse ODG. So you're right unfortunately although Tinashe's Pretend is on the INMWT list so maybe things are changing :)

Oh Ella, coming for that number 6 on Sunday. :(

I'm gonna go for #08  possibly #09!

YG in the top 3 on iTunes *.*.*

YG is the rapper who brought us this iconicfest by the way

Don't Tell Em is quite good, I wish it was Down On Me that was Jeremih's big UK hit though. It did very well here considering the lack of airplay it got though
