Posted September 10, 200618 yr What do the following artists have in common? Sandi Thom Nerina Pallot Automatic Sergio Mendes The Egg Scissor Sisters
September 11, 200618 yr Something to do with first issue of single re-entering charts on download before being re-issued? (though can't think what Scissor Sisters one is though)
September 11, 200618 yr I don't think that's it, otherwise Fall Out Boy, Kaiser Chiefs, Ordinary Boys and Bedouin Soundclash would be on there... They've all gone up the charts with their latest singles, and they've all re-released, or are about to re-release, something (except Nerina Pallot as far as I know).
September 11, 200618 yr The only connection I can see, have they been released singles about 4 weeks in advance of the physical date
September 11, 200618 yr Maybe all these artists were successful after their songs appeared in a commercial?
September 12, 200618 yr Well they all missed the top 10 with their first single release Is the answer only related to these six acts, or are they just examples? Edited September 12, 200618 yr by jargon
September 13, 200618 yr  Well.... I've only heard of 2 of them and could only remember a song from 1 of them. Guess that's not the answer? :P **** Leaves Forum. Ashamed at old age and 'un-hippness' ****
September 13, 200618 yr Author Well they all missed the top 10 with their first single release Is the answer only related to these six acts, or are they just examples? These six artists are (I hope!) the only six with this property.
September 14, 200618 yr Author I'll give you a hint: The Killers *might* be added to this list next week.
September 14, 200618 yr Right, think I've got it..... They've all had their biggest hit to date with a chart entry on downloads only (probably not very well worded)... Sandi Thom entered at 15 with Punk Rocker... on downloads only, her biggest hit to date at that point Nerina Pallot entered at 34 on downloads only, her biggest hit to date at that point Automatic entered at 23 with Monster on downloads only Sergio Mendes entered at 29 with Mas Que Nada Egg at 28 with Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away) Scissor Sisters at 4 with Don't Feel Like Dancin' Killers will join them on Sunday if they enter higher than 3 on downloads only with When You Were Young, beating Somebody Told Me which got to 3. Either this is right, or I will look a right spanner......

September 14, 200618 yr Still not sure if it's right, must exclude debut hits, e.g. Cassie, Chamillionaire, Lily Allen etc
