December 24, 201410 yr Author La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la c18441Eh_WE #08 Can't Get You Out Of My Head // Fever // Avg: 8.714 (11: Ultraviolence1989, Kellyann, Jester, Chapman, Luciano, Red Blooded Man, Jay, Kyliefan '14), (10: Acidburn, Slowdown73, Gezza, Davidson, Mango,مدهش*, MIKEMYER, bartsimpson, MichaelCarty) (-1/0: Liam, Nick F1) At #8 is Kylie's most famous and iconic song "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", which is actually quite a shock and thought at least this would be top 5, but given the fact that this was so big and overplayed, it was bound to get some haters, and at the start of this rate the scores were kinda slow, but massively improved throughout the rate with 8 11's and 9 10's. Released in September 2001 as the lead single from her 8th album "Fever". Written by Cathy Dennis and was originally meant for S Club 7, but their manager Simon Fuller turned it down, and then offered it to Sophie Ellis Bextor who also turned it down, a grave error on her part, so then Kylie snapped it up. After making a successful comeback in the previous year, this well and truly cemented her status as an all time icon, but was it though the best and worst thing to happen to her career. But the best way was that it topped the charts in the UK becoming her 6th #1 and sold over a Million copies, as well as topping the charts in 40 countries worldwide and even gave her a much needed boost in the USA by hitting the top 10, her first since 1988 and therefore the upcoming album "Fever" also followed in the same suit. The song ended up selling over 6 Million worldwide, becoming one of the all time best sellers. But now the worst thing is that this was a hard act to follow, while she scored several hits since, nothing has ever reach this kind of level and hasn't made so much as an impact on the USA charts since. But does that really matter, most artists would kill to have this kind of career momentum even once, and the fact that Kylie did it when she was pretty late in her career just shows that she will always and forever be an Icon. December 24, 201410 yr Thrilled 'Your Disco Needs You' made #9. Would have loved for top 5 but I am happy it is so appreciated. Wonderful in every sense.
December 24, 201410 yr I'm really appreciating CGYOMH a lot more recently, I could barely stand to listen to it for years (due to overplay) but it's a finely crafted gem of a pop song. If I were to do a top 50, I doubt this would make it though. As for who will win in the albums, I'm rooting for Light Years but either would be deserving.
December 24, 201410 yr CGYOOMH is my favourite of hers. It really deserved every bit of success it got.
December 25, 201410 yr Author Starlight shimmers everywhere cGxn2jIKiR4 #07 The One // X // Avg: 8.964 (11: Nick F1, Red Blooded Man), (10: Acidburn, Slowdown73, Regina, Gezza, Davidson, Kellyann, Mr Aly, bartsimpson, Jay, Kyliefan '14), (3: Vibe) At #7 is the last of the X era singles "The One" and despite being the album's smallest hit, it's clearly the best single from the album with a staggering 10 10's on this rate, becoming a firm cult fan favourite. Released in July 2008 as the album's final single, but the physical release was cancelled at the last minute and so therefore only charted on digital downloads. Originally it was recorded by dance group by , but it was decided that Kylie should have the song for her 10th studio album. The song was remixed from it's original album form, despite being critically acclaimed, from a electropop song to a more uptempo dance pop by the song's producers Freemasons. I don't know why this wasn't the album's first single instead of "2 Hearts", as this would have definitely smashed if it was given a proper release. When eventually released the song failed to make much of an impact on any of the charts, especially in the UK where it charted at #36, becoming her first solo single to miss the top 20 since 1997 and ending her run of 16 top 10 hits since 2000. In Australia it failed to dent the charts and in New Zealand it only charted on the airplay charts reaching the top spot. But it did find some success in Slovakia where it reached #6.
December 25, 201410 yr Author Everything went from wrong to right GWAKLNEVWB0 #06 Love At First Sight // Fever // Avg: 9.107 (11: Acidburn, Mango, Simon, Chapman, Mr Aly, Jay, Kyliefan '14), (10: Davidson, Jester, Luciano, bartsimpson, OceanBlue, MichaelCarty, Red Blooded Man), (5: fgi090905) At #6 is the ever wonderful and fantastic "Love At First Sight" released in June 2002 as the 3rd single from her 8th album "Fever". The song received instant praise upon release for it's slick and stylish production and of course became another smash hit for her following in the same vein as the album's first 2 singles and therefore capping off a very successful era for her. In the UK it charted at #2 doing one better than "IYE" which it #3 and even outsold it by selling over 195,000 copies, earning a Silver disc and also becoming one of the most played songs on the radio of that year. In other countries it was also successful by topping the charts in Greece and hitting top 5 in Australia and Canada, and top 10 in Denmark, Hungary, Ireland, Spain, Italy and New Zealand. As well as top 20 peaks in Netherlands, Germany and Finland and finally top 40 everywhere else. In the USA it was released as the album's 2nd single and was given a remix by duo and became quite successful by reaching #23 becoming her 5th top 40 hit in that country in total/

December 25, 201410 yr 'All the Lovers' being top 5 is expected but it's so overrated :( WANT: 05. All the Lovers 04. I Believe in You 03. Better the Devil You Know 02. Confide in Me 01. On a Night Like This Ideally 'CGYOOMH' would be top3 with CIM and OANLT
December 25, 201410 yr Those are both utterly marvellous. I really don't think 'I Believe In You' should be top 5, but alas.
December 25, 201410 yr 'All the Lovers' being top 5 is expected but it's so overrated I think its one of her best songs and totally deserves top5. Probably will be her last ever top3 single.

December 26, 201410 yr Author That's the thing with these rates, you can't please everyone, and especially when there's a lot of singles in a rate. Yes people's faves will sometimes not get very high, or other not so great singles coming higher than some of the better ones, it's just the way it goes and at the end of the day it's down to the scores, like a majority will rate a song a 10 or 11, but then someone else could give it a 0 or -1. It's just everybody got different tastes. Even I don't agree with some of these positions and think that some of my faves are too low or my least faves being too high. Like personally I love "I Should Be So Lucky" and I would place it in my top 5, but only ended up at #12 despite a pretty decent average, and "Timebomb" deserves higher, but out of 60 it came in at #23, which isn't bad to be honest. Also "Never Too Late" deserves higher than #26 and it's better than a lot of the songs that have beaten it such as "Come Into My World" which is far too high in my opinion and personally I would have put in the top 50. "Red Blooded Woman" which I do like, but #21 is rather high and should be at least top 30, "In My Arms" and "Get Outta My Way" which are both fantastic tracks, but are lesser hits, and "IMA" I would put at the bottom end of the top 20 and "GOMW" should be slightly lower than #13. Even "Spinning Around" only at #16, should be top 10 at least, such an amazing comeback that made her relevant again. "The Locomotion" also deserves better than #37, I know it's cheesy, but it's fun and a highlight in her discography. Even "Finer Feelings" and "If You Were With Me Now" came out very low on here. But it just goes to show that you can't please everyone.
December 26, 201410 yr Author The Joker's always smiling, In every hand that's dealt HZp2bk4YHFY #05 I Believe In You // Ultimate Kylie // Avg: 9.267 (11: Liam, Jester, مدهش*, Chapman, Jay), (10: Acidburn, Slowdown73, Ultraviolence1989, Gezza, fgi090905, Davidson, Kellyann, Mango, Simon, MIKEMYER, Luciano, bartsimpson, OceanBlue, Kyilefan '14), (-1: Nick F1) At #5 in the Ultimate Kylie rate is "I Believe In You", which I did expect to do well, but scoring an impressive 14 10's, which is the by far the highest so far. Even the 5 11's is also great and in fact most of the rates were high, along with 5 9's and 2 8's. The only really low rate was the -1 by Nick F1 (why). Released in December 2004 as the lead single from her 2nd greatest hits compilation "Ultimate Kylie" which covered all 3 decades of her career on a double disc. The song was written by herself, Jake Shears and Babydaddy from the band Scissor Sisters, who'd also become to form an everlasting friendship. It also sees Kylie returning to the disco sound and mixed with 80's new wave and electro pop. Upon release it caused an overwhelming response and was even labelled as return to form, after the mixed reception to the "Body Language" album and singles. In the UK it hit #2, being held off by the Band Aid 20 single, becoming yet another unlucky near miss and instead it gave her 11th single to hit the runner up spot, and her last to date. In other countries it reached #2 in Denmark and hit top 5 in Austria, Hungary, Iceland and Spain. In her homeland it peaked at #6 becoming her 21st top 10 hit over there. Also hit top 10 in Greece, Swiss and Ireland. Then top 20 in Italy. Germany, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands, Sweden and Finland. Then finally top 40 in New Zealand and France, which was it's lowest peak due to it getting a belated release in 2005 and was already available on Import months before. The B-side was a new track titled ("Beats Per Minute") and was originally recorded during the "Body Language" sessions in 2003, but was left off due to it not fitting in with the theme of the album. It had gone through many changes throughout the process, firstly starting off as an instrumental track, and originally titled "Sunset River" at one stage, before being re-written into it's final form and was considered for the "Ultimate Kylie" album as one of the new tracks, but was chosen for unknown reasons and instead ended as the b-side to the first single instead, therefore ending up as another popular fan favourite and was even included on the set list for her concerts in 2012, which marked the first time she's ever performed it live.
