No more excuses, cause I heard them all before

#04 Better The Devil You Know // Rhythm Of Love // Avg: 9.535 (11: Acidburn, Gezza, Kellyann, MIKEMYER, OceanBlue, MichaelCarty), (10: Slowdown73, Ultraviolence1989, Liam, Stuart25, Davidson, Mango, Mr Aly, Luciano, bartsimpson, gooddelta, Red Blooded Man, Jay, Kyliefan '14), (4: Nick F1)

Right then okay at #4 is Kylie's iconic classic "Better The Devil You Know" and this was where the first of her many re-inventions started. After displaying the girl next door image for the first two albums during the late 80's, the 1990's brought in something special. Madonna started the 90's with the iconic "Vogue", and Kylie brought this anthem and what a way to start a new decade. This was also the point where her personal life was changing, with her leaving Neighbours and breaking up with Jason Donovan for Michael Hutchence and therefore this influence marked a change for her artistically. Deciding to move forward with her sound and work with other producers for the album, but still retained the pop sound, but more polished and less layered vocal, that brought her to the dance scene. Released in April 1990 as the lead single from her third album "Rhythm Of Love" and hit #2 in the UK, becoming her 10th top 5 hit and did well in other countries by topping the charts in Israel, hitting top 10 in Australia, Ireland, Belgium and Finland, and also top 20 peaks in France, Sweden and Netherlands and finally top 30 in Germany, Austria, New Zealand and Swiss. In Australia Mushroom Records re-released the song in 1998 as part of their 25th Anniversary and reached #59 on the charts. Steps released a cover in December 1999 as a double a-side titled
and reached #4 in the UK charts. So this marks the last of the PWL era to feature in this countdown and glad that this was the one that came out on top, due to the overwhelming responces.

So it's just 3 singles left 90's Kylie vs 00's Kylie vs 10's Kylie, who will come out on top, Confide In Me, On A Night Like This or All The Lovers.

I hope it's On a night like this or Confide in Me.

All the lovers or Confide in me for no1. I like on a night like this but its not one of my favourites.
'On A Night Like This' to win! The most perfect pop song.

This!

I think I gave 'On A Night Like This' an 11 and 'Confide In Me' only a 10 but on reflection I would love the former to win I think (not that I have helped it do so).

#03 All The Lovers // Aphrodite // Avg: 9.589 (11: Ultraviolence1989, Regina, fgi090905, bartsimpson, gooddelta, OceanBlue), (10: Acidburn, Slowdown'73, Liam, Stuart'25, Davidson, Aled, Kellyann, Jester, MIKEMYER, Chapman, MichaelCarty, Red Blooded Man, Jay, Kyliefan '14), (4.5: Nick F1)

At #3 is the much loved and wonderful "All The Lovers", which was the comeback that everyone wanted, after the slight underperformance of "X" and it's lead single, this was deemed a lot more worthy. Released in June 2010 as the lead single from her 11th album "Aphrodite", it caused an uproar when first leaked to her official website and causing it to crash. This was actually one of the final tracks recorded for the album as originally
was gonna be the lead single, but Kylie and executive producer Stuart Price, felt that something was missing and during the final weeks of recording, this came about and instantly knew that they had something incredible. In the UK it managed to reach #3, scoring her biggest hit in several years and sold over 370,000 copies, but to date it's her final top 10 hit. In other countries it became her biggest success since 2001's "CDYOOMH" by hitting top 5 in Hungary, Scotland, Slovakia, France and Austria, along with top 10 peaks in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Swiss, Belgium and Japan. Therefore becoming one of Kylie's ever iconic lead singles.

All the lovers is certainly one of Kylie's best ever tracks and rightfully deserves to be in a high position. Its prove Kylie can still have a hit and be relevant!! I'm surprised on a night like this is so high. Here's hoping confide in me is no1.

To be honest, I'm not sure even if Kylie came back with 'All The Lovers' now that she'd get a hit with it in this day and age. A lot can change in 4 years and she doesn't get the same kind of support any more.

I was really glad for what 'All The Lovers' did for her credibility wise and success wise at the time, I was such a proud fan.

Heart beatin' faster and work is a disaster?

#02 Fever // 2001 // Avg: 8.72 (11: Luciano, bartsimpson, Jay, Kyliefan '14), (10: Acidburn, Ultraviolence1989, Mango, Simon, Jester, Mr Aly, gooddelta, OceanBlue, MichaelCarty, Red Blooded Man) (-1: Liam)

Right then so we are at the end of our album countdown, and at #2 is "Fever", which means that "Light Years" is the winner, (which everybody pretty much have guessed by now anyway). But for now let's talk about her 8th studio album, which was released in October 2001 and became a massive critical and commercial success. With roughly 12 million worldwide, which was her highest selling album of her career and even made her relevant in the USA again. Afte signing to parlophone and returning to pop for the previous project, Kylie got to work on the sound that she wanted and went down a more adventurous route with this one, going into dance-pop , with elements of 70's disco and europop, with some club and synth influences.

The album begins with the funky slinky
which may not be the most memorable track, but it's still an indicator of what's to come. Picking things up with
and the iconic
, which are both perfect examples of finely crafted dance pop with disco influences. The title track Fever which heads into a more synth pop and club sound, with sophisticated vocals and swirling beats and
which slows things down into a more atomospheric club sound.
has a harder edged to it and the closing track
which begins slowly with a seductive guitar sound and then totally transforms into a funky disco number.

So in all this was where Kylie's career changed forever and put her into the big leagues, where she rightly belongs and the 4 massive singles helped it maintain big sales, and with such a solid slick production, I was so glad that this album did so well.
I'm glad light years is no1. Light years is a much better album than Kiss me once too.
Fever is hideously overrated. Not a bad album but not all that good either.
Fever and Light Years are both hideously overrated, especially the former though.

Threw away my old clothes, Got myself a better wardrobe

#01 Light Years // 2000 // Avg: 9.153 (11: Acidburn, Gezza, Stuart25, Mango, Jester, Mr Aly, MichaelCarty), (10: Kellyann, Red Blooded Man, Kyliefan '14), (5: Liam, xxxx)

Right so here it is guys, your #1 album is the pure pop classic "Light Years" which was released in September 2000 and brought Kylie back into the mainstream with a vengeance. After her contract expired with DeConstruction, after the poor performance of "Impossible Princess", Kylie signed to Parlophone in 1999 and started work on her 7th album, which would see her return to pop music, but with a more modern twist than her PWL days, and as it turned out that's what the fans and public wanted from her, combining elements of pop, disco and techno.

The opening track and lead single
, which signals her return to pop and built around a fresh disco sound, along with lyrics that resemble her own career, and On A Night Like This again has the disco sound, but with a more euro pop and club influences, making this an epic track.
which oozes glamour, with it's catchy beat, while
has an harder edge flavour to it, with house elements to it. While
and
borders into becoming camp fun, while the former has a summery vibe, the latter is a more dramatic homage to disco. Other sounds on the album do differ such as
, which is primarily dance pop and even Please Stay has latin and flamingo rhythms to it. Even the Barry White cover
adds a nice touch, with a nice laid back feel to it.

So that's it everybody the album rate is finally completed and weeks and weeks of voting and waiting, "Light Years" came out on top, and honestly was the clear winner from the start, with such fantastic responces, and thanks to everybody whose voted and made this possible.

The Album Results

01. Light Years //2000 // 9.153
02. Fever // 2001 // 8.72
03. X // 2007 // 8.634

10. Kiss Me Once // 2014 // 6.962

So just the singles left Confide In Me vs On A Night Like This, so whose gonna win
Has to be CIM. I like On A Night Like This enough but I didn't like 2000-2003 disco-y dance Kylie that much if I'm honest.
Fever and Light Years are both hideously overrated, especially the former though.

I think light years is incredibly underrated. Its one of her best albums. Packed full of great tunes and has a credible edge.
