Australia was the first country to take to Ugly Heart so hopefully that's a sign.

This has to be one of the best songs of the last few years easily, I cannot stop listening to it. I have probably heard it at least 60 times by now

Best song released since shake it off at the moment for me. This is just so so stunning

This is a nice tribute, I like the video, it is sad though :'(

I still expected it to be at least go top 400 in America.

I'm already finding it difficult imaging them perform this live.

Very touching video and nice song. I wish it well but don't think it will be a BIG hit, not sure radio will pick it up in a big way.

Good luck tough.

This made me really sad. Their whole situation has been truly heartbreaking.

Unfortunately I don't think this'll do much in the US. "Ugly Heart" merely "bubbled under" here, and I think this is too attached to its context to be their truly introductory US single. Not to mention the added hurdle of girl groups not being very fashionable here since their late-'90s/early-'00s heyday (or arguably the Pussycat Dolls).

That said, I hope it happens for them at some point, though as someone said earlier, success is secondary to them healing as a group.

Brilliantly said.

Disappointed this hasn't taken off quicker worldwide
The song for me was a grower (despite the brilliant message attached to the song!), so perhaps it could be the same for the public out there who isn't fully behind the song just yet? It's not as instant as "Ugly Heart" imo but then again, that hasn't aged well and I can see "Lighthouse" doing the opposite!
Ugly Heart has aged incredibly well for me :o Not even slightly bored of it yet in 6 months of knowing it! Lighthouse is still sounding beautiful to me too
I loved it as soon as I first heard it on the Australian iTunes! Shame the overplaying has killed the song for me. :(
I've only actually heard it through my own playing (and the chart show) Helps that I don't listen to the radio or watch the music channels I guess!

do we need to make references to death, i mean REALLY

My comment wasn't intentional. Perhaps I should rephrase it but what I meant was quite clear that the song now bores me due to the overplaying of it.
They're doing incredibly well in Ireland. 'Ugly Heart' is still #13 on iTunes and 'Lighthouse' is #18 :o

i was making an off the cuff remark. i'm sure simone wouldn't have taken offence at either, though she might have at you overplaying her tribute in a week!

I wouldn't worry about this personally. We're internet fans stanning over a release we anticipated, 98% of the UK probably still don't even know 'Lighthouse' exists yet and there's probably a huge proportion who don't know or care who G.R.L are even if they know of Ugly Heart. They're not yet in a position where they can do well on name alone, even with the Simone thing behind thing, sure, it's tragic but they weren't big enough for it to actually made a HUGE impact on the majority of the public.

Give it time, it's a bit naive to expect a song from a still pretty low key girlband to 'take off' when nothing of theirs has really taken off anywhere apart from Australia before... but I believe it will. I have FAITH.

it's such a unique kind of song. as internet fans it is incredibly hard to detach from emotion of simone's passing and it makes the song more powerful. how good of a song is it without the knowledge of what it is about. will people like it when talking to jenny from human resources of a wednesday. will radio 1 dare playlist them.

many many unknows

I love how they didn't really show tears or anything like that in the video (apart from the last scene where we don't really see tears anyway). The song is sad itself but the video makes it more powerful and focuses on positives rather than wallows in sorrow. Really great tribute.
