How on Earth are people being compelled to buy 'Wake Me Up' in such vast numbers after every shoddy performance of it? Because it's a charity single I guess but I'm pretty sure the effect was nowhere near this big from Ellie Goulding's performance last year (or was it, I forget, I know it did get to #1 on iTunes but I don't recall how big its lead was). Anyway that should now be a safe 100k+ seller this week and it should probably manage one more week in the top 10 but after that it's going to plummet.

Ellie managed to get the #2 down to about 50% for a while. She jumped from mid-10s to #1 with #2 at 53% pretty much instantly, but was able to push very little further beyond that. If only she had a documentary about the production of the song :jump:

Good to see God Only Knows reappearing. Wasn't keen on it at first but grew to like it. Infinitely better than that Wake Me Up cover (Avicii must be turning in his decks!)

But that Wake Me Up cover still manages to be better than that total atrocity released by Ellie Goulding last year <_<

Completely agree! That Wake Me Up cover is horrible to listen to. God Only Knows has people that can sing, which kind of helps! :P

Oh I presume 'God Only Knows' was played on CIN then? I turned off at 10 and I don't recall seeing it so I'm rather surprised it has got this big a boost from such a late airing (unless it was before 10 and I was just paying no attention) :o Great to see it get a decent second wind anyway, a hell of a lot better than the Gareth Malone monstrosity and really should have just been the official CIN single.

Judging from the live performance, 'Only Human' is miles better than either of the singles from Cheryl's album so far - seemed a little bit Christina Perri 'Human' ripoff-esque but a rather enjoyable song. Do we know what the official 3rd single is yet?

YES. No. No but if they had any sense it'd be 'Only Human'!

As much as I like to be a Cheryl detractor, 'Only Human' bares zero similarities to the Christina Perri song... at all.

But yes, should be 3rd single.

I was going to ask about the S Club 7 songs. That was a shocking performance though. Only Bradley seems to remember how to sing properly

They played it about 11ish I think

Really? That's all I could think when she was performing! Still a lovely song though and I third that it should be single #3.

At least I'm not totally alone in thinking that! It's not even just the title, the chorus has a pretty similar melody (if slightly sped up). 'Rip-off' is a bit of an exaggeration but there are clear similarities IMO.

I probably wouldn't have picked up on it if it wasn't for the similar titles, but yeah the melodies are similar; the chorus of 'Only Human' is like an extremely softer version of 'Human'.

#179 Run - Nicole Scherzinger  :yahoo:

Looks like it would comfortably outperform 'On The Rocks' even without X-Factor. Yay!

Really willing this to do well for her (or at least reasonably well).

170. Nicole Scherzinger - Run

I'm glad Nicole has had such a positive effect from her music video premiering, I thought it would have struggled to go top 200 before X-factor as it was not even top 1,500 on Pop. It's a great shame that she's performing on a busy week as Band Aid, Rixton, David Guetta, Wretch, Clean Bandit and Olly Murs should enter the top 10 on Sunday.

She only has x-factor as promotion this week but if her album could re-enter the top 20 on the official charts and 'Run' going top 15 on iTunes it would be a positive result. 'Run' has also been added to the hot songs section on iTunes!

134. Pixie Lott - Caravan Of Love

Hopefully advert is on today and it gets a new peak on iTunes.

Here's what I think about the pre-orders:

Do I detect sarcasm?
