I actually enjoyed On The Rocks, shame she flopped with this and did well with the abymsal Your Love. She has a great belting voice though, perfect for ballads as illustrated in Run which is lovely :wub:

 

I'm hoping Bebe's single gets a push next year too, I love the effect in the chorus, it's quite different and her voice sounds good on it too. Reminds me of Selena's latest single.

Up next, a rather fabulous bunch of songs. M.A.D's single 'Fame & TV' isn't as great as their previous ones but it's still good nonetheless. Demi's version of 'Let It Go' is the superior version, IMO. Idina's always left me feeling a bit cold if I'm honest, couldn't quite connect with it in the same way. 'Good Bye' is probably my second favourite Tanika song, partly because it's written by none other than Emeli Sandé herself, and partly because Tanika's vocals in this are really stunning. Bal will be proud that Tulisa has made it into the countdown, despite being extremely low down. The video did however bump it up a few places. Who could ignore all those v lovely bodies? Then jumping down a bit we have Miley and the Cedric remix of 'Adore You'. The original is really, really boring, so I'm glad she made changes to it and this version is far far superior.

Let it go (Demi) is fantastic but Idina's version is quite a lot superior for me. However I like that Demi's version is quite a bit difference to the original and is still a really great song :wub:

I don't doubt 'Outlines' will do well next year, fully deserved though. Great song!

 

'On the Rocks' is good, but nowhere near as good as 'Your Love'. Surprised you're not a fan of it (although it does seem to be quite a marmite song). 'Run' >>>> everything tho

I'm surprised it's not been getting that much radio support, you'd think they'd be all over it considering it's just 'Hideaway' but with much better vocals and a more tolerable track in general, but I'm guessing it's because it's Tulisa... :lol:

 

Oh no, definitely don't agree with you there. Really don't like the original 'Adore You' at all. It's nice if you take it for what it is, but otherwise just so so boring. Would skip it when listening to the album. :(

Years & Years

 

First stop on the hype train for up and coming artists in 2015 are Years & Years, with just one other yet to come! I haven't yet listened to *all* of their material, but 'Desire' is a jam and I've listened to it so many times already! Am really looking forward to their output and seeing what success they'll have having lost out to James Bay on the BRITs Critic's Choice award, and if what's coming is anything like 'Desire' I'm sure it's going to be bloody fantastic [/melb]!

Charli XCX

 

And the second (and final) tip for 2015 comes in the form of Charli XCX who will release her new album 'Sucker' in January! I didn't take any notice of Charli before I heard she was going to be on the 'The Fault in Our Stars' soundtrack, and 'Boom Clap' definitely became one of the songs of the year for me! And following on from that, 'Break the Rules' is very slick and fabulous, so let's hope the album lives up to expectations and 1) is full of GEMS when it finally arrives and 2) smashes the charts next year (probably only mildly likely) - she definitely deserves to be huge anyway!

Double trouble now as we enter the next section and Lea Michele has not one but two songs popping up! 'Louder' is a fantastic little pop song, while 'You're Mine' is a gorgeous ballad where she can really show off her voice, and it's got quite an emotional message being carried along the way also. Then of course we have my favourite human of the year, and that is Jack Walton, with (dare I say) the weakest of his X Factor live shows performances here, 'Bleeding Love' (there's a few more to come plus one of Jack's own songs - but how high up the chart will they all be?). Tich is also here with undoubtedly the best thing she's done to date. 'Breathe In Breathe Out' is gorgeous, and certainly a *lot* better than 'Dumb'. Can't say we'll be seeing much of her in the future though (in Sandénia or in the UK...). Towards the bottom we have Zara Larsson, one of Lee's flops with what is actually a pretty decent song, LIGHTS and Rixton with 'Wait on Me'... A bit of a disappointment following 'Me and My Broken Heart' but *okay* nonetheless.

Next up we have Tanika at the top with the LOVELY 'Runaway', should have performed a lot better in my chart than it actually did because the chorus is just something you could listen to all the time, but alas it did not. Then we have 'Braveheart' by Neon Jungle which I think is really quite overrated on here. It's nothing groundbreaking, just a tiny bit run-of-the-mill, but it is nice to listen to. Mikky Ekko's single 'Smile' is also here, and it's so so beautiful - really can't wait for his début album because undoubtedly it's going to be stunning. Austin Mahone and Jack Walton both make yet more appearances here, with songs yet to come (where about will they land though?), and then we have 'Crazy Stupid Love'... an absolute disaster of a single. Admittedly, it has grown on me a fair bit but ugh, I just really do not like what a lot of it's about and the video isn't anything special. 'I Don't Care' on the other hand, wub. Further down, The Wanted make an appearance with what definitely should NOT have been their bow-out single... Trashy, but still somehow very good. 'Show Me Love' would have been a much better option to go out on, but oh well, can't have it all ways.
