Posted November 21, 201410 yr Before You Were Born? If none which ones would you consider downloading? :)
November 21, 201410 yr I am a huge 80s pop fan, so there are just too many to list. 'Papa Don't Preach' is one of my all time favourite songs, and is from 2 years before my birth. If anyone says The Spice Girls, I will cry.

November 21, 201410 yr Pretty much every major hit of the 1980s, although most have been copied from compilation CDs/tapes/vinyl rather than actually downloaded.
November 21, 201410 yr I bought Ibiza - The Album earlier this year, which was primarily music from before my time, and: Green Day - When I Come Around Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline Green Day - Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) ...so not much at all. My family has a couple 80's compilations but I've never bothered to burn them.
November 21, 201410 yr Excellent question...I downloaded that Nile Rodgers and Chic best of that came out last year, so I guess that counts. Can't think of any others I've downloaded!
November 21, 201410 yr Does depend how specific you are about the question. I listen to a lot of music from before I was born but I'm so ancient that I'd acquired a lot of it before you even could buy downloads. And even now I don't download individual oldies that often, mostly I buy whole albums or compilations. Two I do definitely remember though are 'Woodstock' by Matthews Southern Comfort and 'Stardust' by David Essex. I wonder if I'm the first person ever to have mentioned either of those songs on Buzzjack?
November 21, 201410 yr Bryan Adams - Summer Of 69 Johnny Mathis - When A Child Is Born REM - Losing My Religion Maria McKee - Show Me Heaven Bette Midler - Wind Beneath My Wings U2 - The Fly James - Sit Down Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies Paul Young - Come Back And Stay Paul Young - Every time You Go Away Elton John - I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues Obviously slightly older than most above :P
November 21, 201410 yr Very few  I have some Kylie albums from before I was born, and probably a couple of others, but that's about it lol. Most music I enjoy has happened post-1997.

(Pedantic note: I know the original version of 'Sit Down' was in the 80s, but you can't get that version any more).
November 21, 201410 yr Oh, that's good to know. :D I never knew that about 'Sit Down' :o , one of my favorite songs of all time. I know I've bought more but they weren't showing on my iTunes for some reason... Edited November 21, 201410 yr by JAY17

I know I've bought more but they weren't showing on my iTunes for some reason... James had been around for a long time before Sit Down suddenly became a hit. Here are a couple of their very early songs. QjXs3FfpLII nVL6ZloY47s
November 22, 201410 yr A lot. I was born in '93 and on my iTunes there's a '60s playlist of 58 songs, a '70s one of 192 and an '80s one of 216 and that's not even all of it.
November 22, 201410 yr I lot of 60s music - Dylan, Hendrix, Janis Joplin. And then also the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell. Pretty much the standard classics, obviously the Beatles and the Stones. I love Motown so have quite a lot of that too. And then also some of the 70s era disco music. Not much from the 80s though.
November 22, 201410 yr Seriously are there people born after 2000 here? :o I don't download oldies so probably nothing on my list. Edited November 22, 201410 yr by marcin
November 22, 201410 yr Jackson 5-I Want You Back Journey-Don't Stop Believing Boston-More Than A Feeling Drifters-Up On The Roof That's just off the top of my head. Also, all the Kate Bush albums I own predate me. Edited November 22, 201410 yr by T Boy
