I have faith that there will be some big tunes in your top 100.***

This will be starting shortly but first, let's see some albums which just missed out:

Albums

31. Bad Blood - Bastille

32. New Eyes - Clean Bandit

33. Jungle - Jungle

34. I Forget Where We Were - Ben Howard

35. Carry on the Grudge - Jamie T

All excellent albums, but just not good enough. I'm sure Bastille would have been a EOY top three album a couple of years back if I had one..

30. Paloma Faith - A Perfect Contradiction

http://i.imgur.com/GkSyODk.jpg

Chart run: (3-1-1-1-5-6-9) 7 weeks

Hit singles:

02 Only Love Can Hurt Like This (38-37-36-10-2-13-30) 7 weeks

18 Trouble With My Baby (33-22-24-18-48) 5 weeks

50 Ready For The Good Life (50) 1 week

Paloma's third studio album spent three weeks at the top of my personal chart but vanished shortly after. It is a fantastic album but I'd rank this below Fall To Grace. I don't go back to this album much these days because I do find the tracks to be quite samey but she has a stunning voice and I'm excited what she brings in the future. I like to imagine the re-release doesn't exist because Ready For The Good Life really was boring.

Anyway here are my highlights:

• Taste My Own Tears

• The Bigger You Love (The Harder You Fall)

• Love Only Leaves You Lonely

• It's The Not Knowing

29. The Saturdays - Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits

http://i.imgur.com/8tNsW5L.png

Chart run: (1-4-6-6-8) 5 weeks

Hit singles:

03 Not Giving Up (6-4-3-3-35-37-42) 7 weeks

16 What Are You Waiting For? (40-26-16-25-40-28-49-25) 8 weeks

Here's one for you Joe! This is album is a greatest hits album full of excellent pop stompers (and not so excellent dance-pop floppers - *cough*WAYWF*cough*). The Saturdays are probably the girl band I will associate with growing up although Girls Aloud were definitely my fave childhood band. The album had a quite short run for a #1 album in my chart but I think that's down to there being a lot of new entries around at the time. In the weekly chart it entered at #1 the same week as Magic! and FKA twigs entered which are both still to come so I guess they have the moral victory here. The reason this is low is because it is a greatest hits so it pretty much cheated :heehee:

Here are my highlights:

• Ego

• Issues

• Up

• If This Is Love

• Missing You (sorry hurricane if you're reading this :heehee: )

28. Neon Jungle - Welcome To The Jungle

http://i.imgur.com/cRFtnIl.png

Chart run: (3-7-4-5) 4 weeks

Hit singles:

05 Welcome to the Jungle / (7-5-5-13-32-33-37) 7 weeks

04 Louder / (14-17-10-5-4-18) 6 weeks

34 Can't Stop The Love / (41-34-39) 3 weeks

Here are another girlband but this time a bit more urban, this was a nice little album full of electropop stompers. Braveheart is probably my least favourite of their singles which goes against what most of Buzzjack thinks.. I think I prefer their ballads actually, personally Louder is their best single, the chorus is so huge and I really do love it. Shame they never promoted this album very well and it fell down the charts quickly because I feel that they had a lot of potential..

Here are my highlights:

• Welcome to the Jungle

• Louder

• Can't Stop The Love

• So Alive

• Bad Man

YAAAY this will be fantastic :D Loving the albums in the top 3 so far, The Saturdays were excluded from my EOY album chart on the basis of it being a greatest hits :kink:

27. Sia - 1000 Forms of Fear

http://i.imgur.com/3we00AX.png

Chart run: (2-6-6-7-8-10) 6 weeks

Hit singles:

13 Chandelier / (41-xx-38-18-13-17) 5 weeks

39 Burn The Pages / (39) 1 week

This is an album that took me completely by surprise, it took me months to get round to listening to it because I really thought it wouldn't be my thing but I loved it. Free The Animal is my favourite album track because I love the choppy element to it, I think Sia works best on songs with a huge chorus and interesting production and this is exactly that so it was perfect for me. I really do regret not charting Chandelier higher though, it was originally on course for a #2 peak but really got bored of it at the end of the week meaning it peaked at #13 :o

Here are my highlights:

• Free The Animal

• Chandelier

• Eye of the Needle

• Big Girls Cry

• Burn the Pages

26. MAGIC! - Don't Kill The Magic

http://i.imgur.com/1aTFVfE.png

Chart run: (2-3-5-5-7-9-10) 7 weeks

Hit singles:

02 Rude / (13-11-13-11-15-11-8-9-6-2-6-12-28-47) 14 weeks

20 Don't Kill The Magic / (29-20-33) 3 weeks

35 Let Your Hair Down / (35) 1 week

This is another album that surprised quite a bit, I thought I'd give it a listen after loving Rude and it was a surprisingly great album. There isn't much commercial reggae music out there but this really deserved to be successful. I don't suppose many of you have heard the album but I do recommend it because I think it's quite widely appealing. Rude is definitely the best track for me and we'll be seeing that in the top 100 songs countdown later on.

Here are my highlights:

• Rude

• Let Your Hair Down

• Don't Kill The Magic

• No Way No

• One Woman One Man

25. Bombay Bicycle Club - So Long, See You Tomorrow

http://i.imgur.com/FVnuivj.jpg

Chart run: (4-7-7-4-4-9-10) 7 weeks

Hit singles:

15 Feel / (41-xx-31-15-23-22) 5 weeks

20 Come To / (25-20-31-xx-44) 4 weeks

19 Home By Now / (28-19-43) 3 weeks

This album was unlucky because it would definitely have had a longer chart run (and higher peak) if I had an album chart earlier in the year but nonetheless it continued it's run into July despite being released in February. Luna is definitely my album highlight because it's absolutely gorgeous, I could listen to it for hours. Same goes for the album itself, I'd describe it as THE perfect relaxation album, it automatically allows to me wind down and relaxes me. Yeah, I love this album, shame it can't be higher but this year has been very strong for albums..

Here are my highlights:

• Feel

• Luna

• Come To

• Home By Now

• Carry Me

Great start to the chart (when getting rid of torture with their lead single why you gotta be so rude, trying to make me deaf)

A perfect contradiction is amazing, the album highlight obviously being OLCHLT for me. That's a nice chart run but doesn't compare to like probably at least +30 weeks in my top 10. I love The Sats greatest hits collection, Sia's is amazing (especially chandelier) and Welcome to the jungle is pretty good (especially louder and can't stop the love)

Great start Jsanta  (and btw I love the new name)

YAY for 'I Forget Where We Were' and 'Welcome to the Jungle' so far.

And '1000 Forms of Fear' of course but that is criminally low :o 'Fire Meets Gasoline' and 'Elastic Heart' are my highlights away from the ones you chose

hiya Bal, really gutted I couldn't fit Ben Howard in actually because his album is very good but ah well, at least he got some sort of honourable mention. Getting into Conrad now, good choice of next single.

And yes, it does look quite low but the quality of albums this year is very good so, FMG and Elastic Heart would be 6th and 7th on mine I reckon so you are clearly demonstrating your good taste there !

Thanks x

Ah, glad you're enjoying it so far but Rude is excellent, still not tired of it :funky:

APC is very good and I do like OLCHLT but it tired on me quite quickly, we all know you're the queen of long chart runs anway (illustrated by Let It Go :P )

Glad you're enjoying the other albums (and the new username, Neil thought of it :funky: )

Thanks x

Hi Josh! :D

I really loved Paloma during the 'Fall to Grace' era ('Picking Up the Pieces' remains one of my favourite songs like, ever), but it all went a bit tits up with this era. Was not a fan of 'Can't Rely on You' at all and all of the other material isn't that great either. :( Same with 'Welcome to the Jungle' really, they had a killer single (aka 'Louder'), but everything else on the album was just meh. Can't say I ever go back to that now, singles aside.

YAY for Sia though, her album really surprised me. :o Didn't expect to like it so much. 'Chandelier's gotten a bit tiring now, but I'm still in LOVE with 'Eye of the Needle' Glad to see that and 'Burn the Pages' in your highlights.

Looking forward to the rest of the countdown :cheer:

24. Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour

http://i.imgur.com/hfjON9Z.png

Chart run: (6-..) 1 week (so far)

Hit singles:

03 I'm Not The Only One / (35-8-3-10-34-33-44-43-xx[4]-45) 9 weeks

36 Stay With Me / (43-xx[1]-36-xx[3]-44) 3 weeks

02 Like I Can / (16-8-2-6-14-...) 5 weeks (so far)

Another album that took ages for me to listen too, after the abysmal lead single Money On My Mind it would need a miracle for me to ever forgive him for that monstrosity and the next single was just as bad. Well, that's what I thought originally but now I LOVE Stay With Me, an excellent ballad and the choir in it is really quite something. He then came along with I'm Not The Only One and I was sold, another fantastic ballad and definitely his best single so far. Four singles in and here comes Like I Can, a breath of fresh air and an upbeat track from him. I've finally got round to listening to the album and it certainly hasn't disappointed, all of the ballads on their are stunning such as Leave Your Lover and the upbeats are just as good like Restart. A really fantastic album and he is deserving of all the success he is receiving at the moment..

Here are my highlights:

• I'm Not The Only One

• Like I Can

• Stay With Me

• I've Told You Now

• Life Support

23. Katy B - Little Red

http://i.imgur.com/Gb2U6aX.png

Chart run: (6-8-9-9-9) 5 weeks

Hit singles:

04 Crying For No Reason / (4-10) 2 weeks

13 Still / (21-17-13-24-47) 5 weeks

16 Aaliyah / (16-18-23-35-43) 5 weeks

Another victim of me not starting my album chart earlier in the year, this would have certainly been a personal chart #1 album in February. I don't think it quite captures the magic of her debut but it's still excellent and an album very worthy of its official #1 title. I wish she'd kept What Love Is Made Of on the album though because that really is a great song. Crying For No Reason and 5 AM are two of the best songs in her career though too.

Here are my highlights:

• Crying For No Reason

• Everything

• Next Thing

• Aaliyah

• 5 AM

22. David Guetta - Listen

http://i.imgur.com/vO32lsJ.png

Chart run: (2-...) 1 week (so far)

Hit singles:

44 Bad / (44) 1 week

01 Lovers On The Sun / (7-4-6-8-3-1-6-49) 8 weeks

15 Dangerous (15-22-..) 2 weeks (so far)

20 What I Did For Love (20-..) 1 week (so far)

A more recent album here, David Guetta's brand new album Listen. It's packed with the same formula as his last couple of albums but why change the golden formula, eh? This album brings in lots of big stars and lots of littler stars which step up to the plate just as well. There are many album highlights including Hey Mama which is hopefully a future single with Nicki's excellent verses and quite an unusual drop. Bang My Head is another Sia collab but actually better than their previous two for me ( :o ), I love the chorus and her enunciation really elevates the song for me. As a fan of Magic! I was always going to enjoy a collab between them and David, it's a very happy medium between both artists and they fuse really well so there's another album highlight for me. Here are a few more:

Here are my highlights:

• Hey Mama [feat. Nicki Minaj)

• Bang My Head (feat. Sia)

• Dangerous (feat. Sam Martin)

• Sun Goes Down (feat. Magic!)

• No Money No Love (feat. Elliphant)

FINEST SELECTION #29 :o I vote to ban you from the sats forum :snif: Great countdown so far. Especially love So Long, See You Tomorrow.
