So one of the biggest hits of this decade so far props up at 15 for Lily Allen with massive comeback single Hard Out Here. The song spent 3 weeks at #1 in 2013 [constantly swapping with her other track Somewhere Only We Know until this little track called Let It Go came along] and spent a lot of time in the charts again this year, peaking at #3 for 2014. It has gigantic sales of 4.5M in total and just over 1 Million from this year. I originally hated this track but after a week I completely fell in love with it so badly. The lyrics, production and vocals are all superb and I wish this was a bigger hit then it ended up being in the official charts

So the highest girlband song comes courtesy of G.R.L with their stunning debut single Ugly Heart. The song went straight in at #2 on my charts and spent 7 weeks top 10 and 17 weeks so far top 40. It is also a million seller and is an absolutely amazing song with great vocals and production and I adore the video. This was another song I wasn't sure on at first when I first heard it but I fell in love with it after a few listens. This also only passed a million sales on Sunday as it was at 997k last week :o

Perfect predictions all around for The Band Perry here with I think their 2010 release If I Die Young which didn't impact my chart until this year. The song became a massive surprise success and became the 2nd single to knock Idina from the top spot from the middle of nowhere. Despite a very heavy 2nd week fall, the song held on very well in the end by spending 6 weeks in the top 10 and 14 weeks top 20. This is another million seller and it is an amazing country song which I recommend to everyone

Anyway time for one hell of a surprise in 12th judging by the predictions. But who is it?

So despite a #4, #5 and #6 prediction, Do You Want To Build A Snowman let alone missing the top 5 misses the top 10. Anyway it has had a sensational and crazy 2014 chart run to become a gigantic hit. The song spent 2 of its 3 weeks at its peak of #3 in 2014 and spent 13 weeks in the top 10. The song in total has spent a massive 30 weeks in the top 40 with 25 of those top 20. This has a mini climb in June for no reason and another chart-run nearer to Christmas as it is a winter song. This song is so beautiful and Kristen is stunning on this

The next song will be another shock for 2 members :o

wow that is a lot lower than i expected, definitely one of my favourite frozen songs. absolutely adorable and works so well in the context of the film!
i BLOODY LOVE 'air balloon' and seeing it on your chart has made me realise i didn't chart it in my own YTD and therefore the entire thing is a sham :(

Who Dat Who Dat I-G-G-Y is the last song to miss the top 10 as she is 11 with her million selling smash featuring Charli XCX. This is Iggy's last entry of 4 and Charli's last entry of 6 in a huge year for them both [iggy still has an entry on the album chart to go]. This was another song that bombed on original release as I found it ok but nothing special at all. The song debuted at #12 becoming Iggy's 2nd highest peaking song [behind Bounce #8] but fell out the next week. Then I saw the sensational video which was ranked #1 in the video of the year rankings and the song re-entered in 19 before a big climb to 7 the next week. I then completely fell in love with the song resulting in a peak of #3 [i could be wrong but I think it never made the top 5 on a midweek update] and it spent 10 non consecutive weeks in the top 10 and 32 weeks top 40 [including 3 weeks at both 11 and 24 and 2 weeks at many other different numbers]. I don't usually like rap but Fancy is so amazing that I adore it even though I hate rap usually

10. Only Love Can Hurt Like This- Paloma Faith 1,330,290

Chart Run: 17-N/A-N/A-N/A-N/A-6-8-7-2-10-9-8-10-10-8-13-16-16-16-12-9-14-11-10-7-11-13-17-21-26-27-24-25-28-22-30-25-28-18

http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/PalomaFaith-OnlyLoveCanHurtLikeThis.png

So Paloma kickstarts the top 10 with her beautiful ballad Only Love Can Hurt Like This in a massive year for her here and in the official charts. The song originally charted at #17 when I bought the album and it re-entered 4 weeks later into the top 10. It looked like it was going to #1 but a Britain's Got Talent performance of Let It Go stopped that from happening so it peaked at #2 followed by a massive drop the next week. However in the end it spent 13 weeks in the top 10 and 35 weeks in the top 40 which is just such a remarkable run. The track spent 2 weeks at 11 and 3 weeks at #8, #10 and #16. This has been a great year for Paloma and this song is just so beautiful and it has gone double platinum by selling over 1.3M copies. Only New York [1.8M] has sold more for a Paloma single.

10. The New Classic- Iggy Azalea 817,450

Chart Run: 2-1-4-6-6-6-2-10-X-8-6-6-7-9-10-X[x16]-8-X[x3]-9

A great debut album by Iggy with my 2 main highlights being Fancy and Black Widow. This was one of a few albums that climbed to #1 and spent a lot of weeks in the top 10 including 5 weeks at #6. This was a big success in my charts

9. Blank Space- Taylor Swift 1,358,000

Chart Run: 16-13-1-1-1-1-4-2-3

http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/TaylorSwift-BlankSpace.png

And the first of 2 Taylor singles to impact the top 10 is her latest smash hit Blank Space which has sold 1.3M in just 9 weeks. The song debuted at 16 and climbed to 13 when it was just an album track but when that sensational video was revealed, the track stormed straight to #1 where it held the fort for 4 weeks and has not left the top 4 since. This is another gigantic hit for Taylor and her 2nd of 3 number 1's so far from this era. Blank Space is easily one of my favourite songs this year and if there were a few more weeks of the year left, I am sure it would have made it to #4.

The Veronicas are defying all predictions so far, how long will this last for?

9. Days Are Gone- Haim 825,840

Chart Run: Incoming

Total Sales: 3,704,950

Highlights: Don't Save Me, The Wire, Forever, If I Could Change Your Mind, Days Are Gone, My Song 5

And last years biggest selling album by Haim takes a small tumble to #9 this year as Days Are Gone manages to shift another 825k copies this year. I adore this album and it is so amazing with gems such as the highlights I mentioned- especially the first 4 which are all million sellers here.

What is your favourite Haim song?

Edited by Ultraviolence1989

only love can hurt like this is a lovely ballad, her vocals really shine on it. i think this style of song suits her best so i'm glad she's gone down the same route with leave while im not looking.

fancy is so catchy too, both the chorus and raps are very strong. i prefer both boom clap and black widow from each artist though.

8. All About That Bass- Meghan Trainor 1,391,770

Shortly after Changing became the first song to chart on streams, All About That Bass quickly followed it as the 2nd and spent 6 weeks top 40 on streaming including a week in the top 10 on only streams during the quietest top 10 of the whole year. The song still holds the record for the most amount of streams included in a total [120k] but it could have a challenger for that record soon in the form of Meghan's own Lips Are Movin. Anyway the song shot straight to #1 for 2 weeks on release and spent another 3 weeks top 10 and 8 weeks top 20 [including a massive 3 weeks at 11]. I love this catchy pop song and it is so great to listen to

8. 48:13- Kasabian 973,790

Kasabian scored another gigantic album hit with 48:13 including top 3 hits such as Eez-Eh and Stevie. The album spent #1 week at number 1 and has spent 13 weeks in the top 10

Flawless top 10 so far, OLCHLT is gorgeous and probably Paloma's best to date <3

Fab to see The Band Perry too, as I said it's a favourite of mine  Flop Blank Space stan tho, it's higher in mine :smoke: (spoilersss)

So Christina has both the #7 single and #7 album in this years End of Year countdown. Her beautiful ballad Human spent 12 weeks in the top 10 including 4 weeks at its peak of #2 where it was held off by Let It Go and West Coast. This was a gigantic success for Christina and marked her 2nd biggest single after 2011's Jar Of Hearts which hung around forever before climbing to the #1 spot after 6 months :o I can't wait for her next album and I hope it contains more gems like this

7. Head Or Heart- Christina Perri 1,008,710

Chart Run: 2-1-4-3-6-7-9-8-10-6-X[x8]-9-X

Christina Perri scored her 1st ever #1 album with Head Or Heart which also is the first of 7 million selling albums. Highlights include Human [as above], Be My Forever and many other songs. The album spent a long time in the top 10 and was very successful here. The album peaked at every position in the top 10 apart from 5 :o

More later as got to go now :)

Human is powerful :D

Bass is good but still getting used to it

Blank Space is surprisingly low for you :o was expecting it top 5 at least
