December 28, 201410 yr Author Two Albums That Missed The Top 40: 41. Sound Of A Woman- Kiesza 181,510 The Pinkprint- Nicki Minaj 74,890 The album countdown will work like this: Numbers 40-11 will be revealed with the highest peaking single from that album [e.g. the commentary for Christmas Wishes will be done when Baby It's Cold Outside appears in the single charts]. Numbers 10-1 will be revealed simultaneously with the singles 10-1. Turn Blue- The Black Keys 227,840 2-4-9-X 37. Lift Your Spirit- Aloe Blacc 220,270 5-8-X So here are the first 12 albums in the top 40 are here. Two of the best indie rock bands around at the moment- Elbow and Kaiser Chiefs- both scored big album hits again this year with great albums. Another indie act follows in the form of Paolo Nutini's great Caustic Love. My favourite 2014 album in this section is Cheek To Cheek- Tony Bennett's And Lady Gaga's Jazz album. I now own this on physical cd and it is such a great album to listen to and I highly recommend it. More indie rock comes from another really good album by Foster The People and The Black Keys while X-Factor winner Sam Bailey did well with her covers album. Kiss Me Once did quite well but is a big step down from the million selling Aphrodite, the Nashville Cast spreaded some Christmas cheer for 4 weeks and Aloe Blacc somehow makes the top 40 with a terrible chart-run and a forgettable album however The Man is a good song. The only #1 album in this section comes from new rock band Royal Blood with their amazing self-titled debut that snuck a week at #1 during a quiet sales week in October. And the 3rd biggest selling album of all time in Ultraviolenceland- It's Not Me It's You- added another 265k as it sits just away from 10 million. Still a classic album and the first of 2 albums in this years top 40 for Lily. Singles 171-183 coming up and that's it for the early hours of this morning. Sexy Lady- Jessie J 12,210 39-X So we start with 13 one weekers including the first 3 of about 15 songs from Taylor. Jessie J kicks of this countdown with 2 songs- sexy lady which is by far the best thing from that hideous 2nd album and should have been a single and the good but forgettable personal. I Wish You Would contends for the title of one of Taylor's worst ever songs as I just can't warm to it at all. She also appears in this section with Clean and This Love which are both nice and good but nothing special. Don't is definitely one of the highlights on X and managed to sneak 1 week in my top 40. Wrapoed Up is really catchy and the first of a few songs from movies- The Hanging Tree- appears at 165. Indiana's only entry appears at 164 while Tom Odell's massive flop Real Love bombs with just 1 week in the top 40, in comparison to the other John Lewis tracks, Somewhere Only We Know was #1 EOY, The Power Of Love was #19 EOY and Your Song was #17 EOY. The quite nice but been around for far too long Stay With Me and another solid take that song round of this section. Edited December 28, 201410 yr by Ultraviolence1989

December 28, 201410 yr Royal Blood is a fantastic rock album and I was happy it ended up being big, really hope their second album is just as good because hopefully they'll be the next big rock band like the Foo Fighters or something.. Sexy Lady was a fantastic song and clearly should've been a single, it was clear the public liked it as it charted from that advert. I hope her latest era begins to pick up too because I really like her as an artist. These Days is so catchy too, the fast paced part is excellent and the whole song is really. Glad they got another #1 so far into their career too *-*
December 28, 201410 yr Hey Ultra :) 161. These Days- Take That 21,320 29-X 162. Stay With Me- Sam Smith 20,780 11-X both of the two I did like but am truly bored of and I'm no big fan of TT either so no huge loss. Credit to them for coming back with a different sounding song though. 163. Real Love- Tom Odell 19,470 30-X Gorgeous and I'm defo in the minority that loves this! 165. The Hanging Tree- Jennifer Lawrence 17,400 39-X another gorgeous wintery movie song, I've not really checked out Jennifer's movie stuff I don't think but she has a nice voice! 166. Wrapped Up- Olly Murs 16,220 39-X 167. This Love- Taylor Swift 15,090 36-X 168. Don’t- Ed Sheeran 15,010 30-X 169. Clean- Taylor Swift 14,820 39-X i actually found this as one of the weakest tracks on the album the other day :( 170. I Wish You Would- Taylor Swift 14,760 40-X 173. Sexy Lady- Jessie J 12,210 39-X Good so far :cheer:

I’ll Be There- Lauren Platt 35,680 34-38-X 156. Kisses For Breakfast- Melissa Steel- 32,890 23-35-39- 157. URL Badman- Lily Allen 31,560 19-X 158. Burning Gold- Christina Perri 28,030 25-26-X 159. Say You Love Me- Jessie Ware 25,040 40-38-X 160. There You’'ll Be- Faith Hill 21,350 35-X So here is section 2 with songs 151-160. The stunning There You'll Be [which X-Factor always reminds me that it exists] got another week in my chart this year due to Lauren's amazing sing-off performance. Talking about Lauren Platt, she also appears with her first entry of a few with her great cover of I'll Be There. Also here is a great summery song with a terrible rap feature [kisses for breakfast], Bastille's 885th single from this era and one of their best [Oblivion] and a a quite good album track but not great single by Lily Allen . URL Badman pretty much bombed in my charts considering both the other 2 post albums singles from the last era both reached #1 and were million sellers. Another artist who will appear a lot- Lana Del Rey- also marks her first entry with the amazing 6 minute long Brooklyn Baby which was originally meant to feature Lou Reed. I still couldn't believe it when it reached #3 on ITunes officially :o Burning Gold and Say You Love Me are both nice tracks and sneaked a couple of weeks in my chart while On The Rocks is good but should have never ever ever ever ever been ever a single. At least for Nicole, her lead single from this era will be up in a very long time. And also in this section is entry number 2 for Queen Taylor Swift with stunning deluxe track Wonderland which should have been on the main album. It is a great song with great lyrics and great vocals. Also a quick note: Only a top 20 existed when Brooklyn Baby was charting and a top 26 where URL Badman was charting Edited December 28, 201410 yr by Ultraviolence1989
December 28, 201410 yr On The Rocks is actually a very nice single and if Run didn't exist it'd be the best thing she did this era. It's all quite beautiful really, shame to see the hte for it. I'm glad for Oblivion finally being a single, it really needed that treatment for a long time and when it finally got the recognition it deserved I was very happy, glad we got the fantastic bad_news as a b-side too. URL Badman was a great single too, really should have been a single earlier to try and save the era because there were lots of potential smashes so it's a huge shame this era hasn't done as well as I'd hoped. December 28, 201410 yr Great to see 'Wonderland' here! It's a fabulous song that i can't quite believe is "only" a bonus track (same with 'New Romantics) - but then in such a strong album, there has to be some relegated to bonus track material :P 'Stay With Me', 'URL Badman' and 'There You'll Be' (:o) are my other favourites <3

Bad Blood- Bastille 320,450 No 2014 Chart Run 40. Tough Love- Jessie Ware 183,460 3-4-8 I forgot to include these two albums in the last section as the highest selling single from each album appeared in the last section. Tough Love manages to stay in the top 40 biggest albums by the skin of its teeth this year and it probably would have been a number 1 album if it was released the week before. A very good 2nd album by Jessie. And Bastille managed to still sell strongly with the 3rd biggest selling album of 2013 [behind Artpop in #70 for this year and Days Are Gone which is still to come for this year] as it is the 28th biggest this year and this great album continues to get loads of sales

Thanks Jsanta for both comments  Really happy the first RB album was big and I can see the 2nd album being big if it is good Sexy Lady definitely should have been a single, it re-entered my chart because of the advert I don't think these days was a song I would like to be a #1 but I don't mind that it was I don't hate on the rocks, I just don't think it should have ever been a single. Your Love is by far the best thing she's done this era Agree about Bastille and I am not sure about URL Badman being a single. I think As Long As I Got You should have definitely been a pre-album single Hey Ultra :) 161. These Days- Take That 21,320 29-X 162. Sexy Lady- Jessie J 12,210 39-X Good so far :cheer: Thanks Rob  I haven't really got too bored of either Take That or Sam's songs. I think I'd like real love more if it wasn't a John Lewis Christmas song as I am always comparing it to the far superior previous John Lewis ad songs. I love Jennifer and I agree about Clean being one of the weakest songs on the album, it probably should have been a deluxe track. Great to see 'Wonderland' here! It's a fabulous song that i can't quite believe is "only" a bonus track (same with 'New Romantics) - but then in such a strong album, there has to be some relegated to bonus track material :P 'Stay With Me', 'URL Badman' and 'There You'll Be' (:o) are my other favourites <3 Thanks Haus  Definitely agree about Wonderland + New Romantics. Both should be on the standard release with Clean + I Wish You Would being deluxe albums. Glad you liked these sections  There You'll Be, what a classic <3 And Wonderland is everything *.* Thanks Liam  So agree about There You'll Be and Wonderland  Hi, just to check you only have 173 in this chart? :P Kisses For Breakfast is good and appears below my top 200 but still catchy and good vocals :D Real Love (Tom) is OK but not that struck  But Wrapped Up, I take it as an Olly flop and bad rip off of Treasure but I don't hate it :P Sext Lady is also pretty good but haven't taken the time to remember it/download it so it hasn't appeared in my chart. Shame KFB missed your top 200 :( And it is 173 singles :) I agree with 'Wonderland', such an amazing track! Only Bonus is crazy! Thanks Joe  Wonderland is so amazing and good to see it is getting a lot of love, it should be on the standard edition Section 141-150 will be up soon including one of Joseph's 2014 favourites. It will probably be up in about half an hour as I have to make most the cover sleeves again as they all messed up the first time :(

Baby Its Cold Outside- Idina Menzel Ft Michael Buble 71,150 27-25-X 142. Run- Leona Lewis 59,260 23-23-38-X 143. National Anthem- Lana Del Rey 57,540 20-X 144. Gold Coins- Charli XCX 56,510 20-26-X 145. Leave While I’m Not Looking- Paloma Faith 56,470 23-41-.... 146. So There- Alexa Goddard 54,740 21-32-X 147. Right Now- Mary J Blige 51,560 20-28-X 148. Something I Need- Ben Haenow 51,200 15-X 149. Salute- Little Mix 48,780 12-18-X 150. Somebody To You- The Vamps Ft Demi Lovato 44,150 9-X So here are 141-150 and starting off this section is a song that should be about 80 places higher- The Vamps Ft Demi Lovato with Somebody To You. I adore this song so much and it is definitely one of the best boyband songs of the last few years. It is also the first top 10 song to appear and this is the first and last entry for The Vamps while Demi has a few more later on. Salute became the 1st Little Mix song to miss the top 10 [they have had a few album tracks making my top 10 also] because I hated the Britain's Got Talent performance but in hindsight it should have made the top 10 as I really like it. Both Salute/Somebody To You were victims of my chart only being a top 20 then. Another X-Factor winner, another bad cover takes this trend for a 3rd year in the row with Something I Need. I really like Ben's performance on the final but the studio version is too gravely and not very good :( . Mary J Blige scored her first top 20 hit in ages with the good Right Now and Alexa's followup to Marilyn bombed, it didn't help that it was out the week of 1989. Right Now was the first of 3 #20 peakers in this section with the others being Lana's stunning National Anthem and the first of loads of track for Charli in this countdown with Gold Coins. Sucker should be massive here next year. Leave While I'm Not Looking has had a limp start for a Paloma song and has performed poorly so far but it should eventually hit top 20/top 10 and be bigger in 2015. Run is one of the best covers of all time and is so beautiful, Leona got more weeks with it again this year and even though I usually hate this song, Queen Idina and Michael Buble's cover of Baby Its Cold Outside is amazing and peaked in the top 25. This is definitely the last you will see of the normally poor Buble but this is the 1st of 4 or 5 entries for Queen Idina  ALBUM http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag281/ultraviolence3/7c737eec-1b25-413f-8990-386ee91d6f30_zps277052bb.png 16. Christmas Wishes- Idina Menzel 614,210 5-2-5-4-4-2-X Highlights: Baby Its Cold Outside, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Holly Jolly Christmas, The Christmas Song and When You Wish Upon A Star And Queen Idina is here at 16 in the album charts with her amazing Christmas covers album known as Christmas Wishes in the UK. This managed 6 weeks in my top 5 including 2 weeks at its peak of #2. It also sold over 200k on its 2nd week at #2 here due to it being Christmas chart week. The lead single is great fun and I adore her 5 minute cover of my favourite ever Christmas songs. Holly Jolly Christmas is also great though I do prefer Lady Antebellum's cover and The Christmas Song is also really good. The album has sold very well here and was certified double platinum last week. This is a fantastic album and I give it a big recommend to listen to next Christmas.
