Budapest- George Ezra 524,590 4-11-6-5-10-14-12-13-12-17-21-20-27-32-40-X OOTW: Definitely one of the highlights from 1989 and hopefully a single eventually. The track peaked at 2 and has spent 10 weeks in the chart so far, don't be surprised to see this become a million seller eventually DPDOMGJY: This is my main recommendation if you haven't heard it. The track from Nashville became a shock hit in my chart by debuting at #2 before climbing to #1 the next week and has spent 18 weeks top 40. The song also was the highest Re-entry in gift card week. Changing: I adore this dance song and Paloma's vocals on this are stunning. I am so glad it went to #1 officially and it created a record here by becoming the first song to ever chart on streams alone. The song spent 6 weeks top 10 and sold over 670k California: A non number 1 alert that appears really high in an EOY coutndown :o Well that's because over 50% (330k) of its total (605k) came on its opening weekend which included a few months of massive pre-orders. However I was bored of the song by then so it had a bad second week drop, spent 4 weeks top 10 and then drove off a cliff. I am starting to really like the song again though Rather Be: I adore this song and it sneaked passed platinum when it appeared in an advert. This means at least 33 songs have been certified at least platinum but how many million sellers will there be? Happy: This was the moment I completely fell in love with Lauren when she gave this performance on the first live show of the X-Factor. I bought the song after and she went straight in at 22 after only a few hours before climbing to a peak of #2 the next week (reminiscent of another amazing songs climb in real life, love story). The song also held on very well and spent 11 weeks top 40 Black Widow: I adore this duet and it gave both artists their 2nd big hit of the year. It peaked at 5 (for 3 weeks) and spent 6 weeks top 10, I do feel though if it was released the W/B 10th August it could have been a #1 for me. Big Eyes: One of the most recent tracks to appear in my countdown is another song from Queen Lana this time from the movie Big Eyes. It is a really nice track and its the 3rd #1 in this section and Lana's 2nd #1 in 2014. The song should continue to sell well into 2015. Glow: Gosh this song has hit me so badly now and is absolutely so so stunning. Glow peaked at #5. The song has spent 12 weeks top 25 and 8 weeks top 20 and is still selling well  Bang Bang: This great collaboration originally bombed by missing the top 10 but I ended up starting to love it so it hit a great peak of #4 and has spent 14 weeks top 40. This has also outsold everything from the last era Boom Clap: Two songs into the top 40, two songs released on W/B 20th July. Boom clap is an amazing song from one of my favourite films this year and would have got a way better peak than #5 if it wasn't competing with 3 new entires and a very strong holdover (it ended up outselling two of the new entries though 1 of them is only 1 place lower). Sirens: This is exactly what I was not expecting from Cher and Sirens is a beautiful song so I am glad it missed #41 for EOY here like it did in the real chart. The song peaked at #2 and spent 11 weeks top 40, including 4 weeks at 29 Budapest: The unlucky #41 is actually pretty lucky for me as it is a song I loved, then didn't like, then hated, then starting to like a bit again. Overplay did kill Budapest for me but I am really starting to like it again. The song peaked at #4 and spent a very good 15 weeks in the top 40. Edited December 31, 201410 yr by Ultraviolence1989

It has so far peaked at #2 and spent 8 weeks top 10. This is only 8k from becoming a million seller and it will become one next week Your Love: I adore this song so so much and it is so catchy and it spent a week at #1 back in July Can't Rely On You: Paloma finally ended Idina's run at the top for one week before falling off quite quickly. The track then recovered and ended up spending 6 weeks top 10 and becoming another big hit for Paloma. Air Balloon: Lily scored a big hit with this catchy pop track though it probably should have stayed as an album track. Crying For No Reason: Katy's stunning ballad took six weeks to peak when it reached #3 of the back of an amazing children in need performance. The song spent a massive 9 weeks top 10. Break The Rules: Charli has been massive this year and her biggest solo hit is break he rules which got a rare OA/OS release and spent 2 weeks at number #2 behind Taylor Home: It may have sold over 900k and been a 2 week #1, but home disappointed as expectations had it being one of the biggest hits of the year with around 2 million sales. Anyway it still did well and spent 14 weeks top 40 Ultraviolence: The beautiful title track from Lana's 2nd album was a gigantic hit immediately and was a midweek #1 but ended up peaking at #2 on 2 occasions. The track has spent a massive 20 weeks in the top 40 Love Is An Open Door: Another Frozen song selling bucket loads. Three to go If I Could Change Mind: This became Haim's 4th million seller this year (sold 150k in 2013) and another big hit for the band. The song spent 15 weeks in the top 40 and peaked at #3. As Long As I Got You: This became a mini sleeper hit after debuting at #3 on the release of the album (this was also a midweek #1 that never got there like BTR, AB and UV in this section) and spent 4 weeks top 10. The song has spent 25 weeks in the top 40 and should pass 800k this week. Battlefield: An absolutely beautiful track from Lea Michele was another shock #1 back in March and this had a very good chart run and sales Crazy Stupid Love: Call my name only sold 200k so this was a gigantic lead single for Cheryl which has sold just under 715k. Despite plummeting originally in its first few weeks, the song started to hold on way way better after x-factor was back and spent 18 weeks top 40 Edited December 31, 201410 yr by Ultraviolence1989

December 31, 201410 yr Wildest Dreams is gorgeous, definitely one of my highlights of 1989! Looks like a fabulous top 15 as well, aside from the two Frozen songs that aren't Let It Go :P If I Die Young is one of my all time faves, gorgeous song! Everytime I'm reminded of Home or hear it/read about, I still refuse to believe how it flopped :drama: Ridiculous.
December 31, 201410 yr 'Wildest Dreams' is comfortably my favourite Taylor song now. Glad to see it rightfully doing so well here <3 Yay for 'Sirens' too, really should have been a huge hit!
December 31, 201410 yr So The Top 15 Is: Christina Perri- Human Ella Henderson- Ghost G.R.L- Ugly Heart Meghan Trainor- All About That Bass Paloma Faith- Only Love Can Hurt Like This Oh my gosh any of those are worthy number ones but I am suspecting a Taylor number one? :kink:
December 31, 201410 yr Author The top 15 will start at 3:00 (so 55 minutes, it will be great to see some of you here then :)) Please can I have some 1-15 ranking predictions for my top 15. Also I'll reply to comments now :)
December 31, 201410 yr 'As Long As I Got You' is my personal highlight from 'Sheezus' aside from 'Hard Out Here', so joyful! Should have been a summer smash. Good to see 'Home' and 'Crying for No Reason' so high as well! Two of my favourite pop tracks of the year. Also, Lauren's 'Happy' was my X Factor highlight for here, and one of the highlights of the series even if it was copied from Foxes. As for predictions, I can see a Taylor dominated Top 10 with perhaps 'Shake It Off' at No. 1? :P
December 31, 201410 yr Author Ella Eyre  Glad to see you liking Ella  Thanks Rob  I see there are a few non-2014 songs there. So you're doing a non-2014 inclusive countdown then? If any song from before 2014 spent a notable amount of time in my chart this year then I include them :) Thanks for commenting Taylor Jago  Shame Comeback didn't do better officially :(It is a good song :) In fact I like all of these :D but haven't listener to #43 yet  Is that new Swift track at #1 too late I know you love her so maybe it's eligible :kink: Comeback deserved to be so much bigger. If you mean New Romantics, that was around 80 or someone like that :) Thanks for commenting Spinning Adam  Wildest Dreams is gorgeous, definitely one of my highlights of 1989! December 31, 201410 yr wait what you've done loads! glad to see timber and giant in my heart all here, both fantastic singles. one very trashy but fun and the other just a great dance tune. black widow is fantastic too, iggy's favourite of mine although i know you don't share the same opinion. the chorus is so slick and i think rita actually outshines iggy. wildest dreams is really lovely, definitely needs to be a single soon. maybe fourth or fifth. want everyone to hear it on the radio and love it like us if i could change your mind is such a perfect summer single, never fails to put me in a good mood.
