363. Go All Night (feat. Jennifer Hudson) - Gorgon City

^ another one to add since they've made it a single pre-order! (and their album completely removed from itunes :/)

Doing what Wilkinson did for 'Half Light' then :drama: How utterly stupid, it's one thing to make a song album-only but why would you remove the entire album?

I am very pleased for Fleur getting iTunes #1. It looks like Oliver Heldens will be #1 on the midweek chart but im starting to develop a feeling that Ed Sheeran will retain his #1 by the end of the week.
To think I had nominated you as most intelligent on the Buzz-awards. :P

I'm expecting a quite rapid fall from the top ten from Bring Me To The Horizon. Wouldn't be surprised if they weren't even top 40 next week.

Its A listing at radio 1 will surely produce some stability for it!

Is this the first time a chart-ineligible song has gone to #1 on iTunes?

All but one (pun not intended) of Ed Sheeran's instant grats were ineligible from recent memory.

I'm sure a couple of Gaga's songs from ARTPOP went to #1 and weren't eligible.

And some 1D and Ed songs went to number 1 on iTunes before being eligible didn't they? And Eminem?
It's surely the first time a song that will never be chart eligible has gone to No.1 on iTunes though!
Is there any paritcular reason the Bring Me The Horizon song has done so well? It doesn't sound all that different to their previous stuff so what made this one go to #1?

I wonder if they'll do what Idol does though, on there the songs are eligible to chart after the competition finishes. Of course it wouldn't really matter as I expect only the winner and runner-up would chart with their final songs and maybe the winner with a song or two that were among their best during the competition.

I think this is their first single that wasn't OA/OS so they were kind of pushing for this to be a hit. Plus big support from R1 (although I guess the same was true for some of their previous singles) and the band's popularity has been on an upward trajectory since the start, with their album peaks going 93-47-13-3. And the current low sales environment doesn't hurt them. Even with all those factors though it's quite amazing that they got an iTunes #1 having only one previous top 100 hit to their name ('Shadow Moses' which peaked at #82).

Sam Bailey up to #39 - very surprised to see her doing so much better than Idina & Bublé. The demand is real.

OK, I just wondered if there was something I'd missed about them, but obviously it's just a combination of factors. I guess out of those, the low sales environment is probably the biggest factor that's helped them. It would be nice if guitar music did start to get a bit more prominent in the charts again, like the late 90s/early 2000s.

^^Yeh its mainly the low sales at the top of the chart and heavy radio 1 support(im not sure but i think this may be their first single to be A listed on radio 1, though youd know better than me Mango).

Fair play to them, good to see a bit of variety in the top 10 :)

Yep, it is actually their first A-listed single... not that that always guarantees a hit single but it certainly seems to have helped in this case.

Team Koala this week - I think they could do it seeing as there is a fair gap on Kworb between them and Ed, who i'm guessing is going to be the biggest competition again.... well thats if the Band Aid physical sales aren't huge...

Bring me the Horizon seems to be dropping back sharply now

Will be interesting to see how many of Asda's 250k pre-ordered copies of Band Aid actually sell!

Bob Geldof was on GM Britain earlier promoting the physical and on the radio this morning.

He was saying everyone should buy minimum of 5 copies each la la la
