Looks like we're getting a new chart show host as Jameela Jamil steps down to travel and work abroad. Former Kiss FM presenter Clara Amfo will take over from 25th January 2015. She currently hosts the weekend breakfast show on Radio 1xtra. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/30474721

Jameela will be a huge loss imo, she wasn't always correct with facts but she makes the chart enjoyable for me, especially when the music itself is pretty stale.

I will miss Jameela too but Clara will do a good job. I remember her from hosting the official chart on mtv. So glad its her from 1xtra taking over and not Charlie Sloth. Sarah-Jane Crawford would have been a perfect host. In all honesty, Scott Mills should take over

They always give the chart show to an up and coming presenter and never a pro, has this always been the case?

Clara sounds professional with her chat and conducting of interviews so I think she'll be a fine replacement for Jameela.

Thank god for that. Hopefully she will be a lot better than the current dreary presenter.

I hope with the new presenter they also revamp the sound of the show. Still frustrates me how amateurish it sounds with a lack of beds and stings, and just talking over silence or the intro of the next song. It needs to get slicker.

Awful news. Jameela made the show bearable to listen to again after over half a decade of JKs, Joels and - bleuggh - Reggies. I'm guessing her open hatred of certain acts has cost her her renewed contract. More fool Radio 1. Hopefully Radio 2 will give her a slot (although I doubt it).

I doubt it considering most of Radio 1's DJ's are like this, mainly with acts that have been snubbed from the playlist that still manage to chart well.

So everybody is suddenly assuming this was a terrible decision even though they don't know how the new host will actually do her new job. erm okay

I don't think that's the case, looks like some members didn't bother clicking on the link in the opening post to read on, its due to a health scarce, she wants to try other things.
