Shame for Once In a Lifetime, I have a little soft spot for it. Illusion is my least favourite deluxe track and I think that deserved bottom 2.

Now THIS really is not acceptable at all. Another beautiful ballad to come from the album, and we have silly people like Jay scoring it as low as 05.0 when really, it's no worse than an 08.5 moment - but truly it is a 09.5/10.0 *MOMENT*. It's not the strongest ballad on the album because let's face it, that's '18' (more on that later), but the lyrics are so so gorgeous and the boys all sound so fragile and vulnerable. I'm glad I have a partner in crime for loving this song in Bal - let's stand up against the mess of haters who think 'Girl Almighty' and 'Stockholm Syndrome' are the best things since sliced bread. This song = true gem.

Fool's Gold is a clear highlight. What are people (Jay) smoking?

Honestly I think it's quite dull. Definitely one of my least favourites on an otherwise rather strong album. It seems it's generally not very popular here for it to be this low down in the results, it can't be down to my score alone. :kink: 5 isn't that bad anyway, it just signifies it being average... which it is.

 

I don't hold it against Calum/Bal for liking "fooo-oooools ga-ol-ol-old-oooh-oold" because they usually have better taste. x

But do they? They can't appreciate Stockholm Syndrome so I'm doubting that x

Aw, Fool's Gold is quite pretty. I'd probably rank it somewhere in the middle.

Ouch, just four songs down and already we've lost three quarters of the deluxe tracks from the album. Admittedly, two of them deserve to be as low down as they are, but 'Illusion' certainly does not. I remember first listening to this on the car journey to work, and it was very instant! It sounds like it could be a great one in the arena or belted out in a stadium. Certainly wouldn't have been a bad decision to have this on the main album. The big pumping chorus is a massive plus for this song, the verses aren't the best by any means, but overall it's a fantastic song and definitely seems to be very underrated from what I've seen.

Illusion is...nice, but that's about it really for me :(

Illusion is one of the weaker spots imo and the worst of the deluxe. Even though it's admittedly catchy, I don't think it's as good a fit with the rest of the album.

Maybe I'm in a good mood today, but I'm actually liking Fool's Gold a bit more today. I still think it's one of the worst~ tracks on the album, but it's still good. I'd probably raise it to 7/10 now. Too late for this. :kink:

 

The vibe of the track reminds me of some Shania Twain songs in an odd way, lol.
