Prodigy, Noël Gallagher & James Bay preorders looking like decent first week sales!

Pretty much Kodaline will be the #1 album I should imagine, with Jack Savoretti at #2.

 

As for the compilation chart, expect huge sales for Fifty Shades Of Grey

The Grammys don't have THAT big an impact on the UK album chart. I'd be very surprised if they gave Sam enough of a boost to beat Kodaline's first week sales...

Top 100 update (09/02/2015, 22:00)

 

That 'The Football Ramble' thing at #8 is only one track but costs £1.99 and is over an hour and a half long. Very peculiar. Presuming it'll count as an album so I have coloured it red. Lucie Silvas' EP is 5 tracks which seems to be a weird limbo situation which contributes to neither chart but I shall colour that red as well.

 

Aside from that Kodaline are of course the main new album in contention for #1, hope they do get it to make up for missing out with the debut. Would be really UGH if Sam Smith does just go back to #1. Beck also feeling the Grammys impact returning as high as #22 and N.W.A are in the top 40 due presumably to the upcoming film about them (source: Googled them). A decent crop of other new entries besides Kodaline so we should at least have more top 40 new entries than we did last week.

 

Other pre-orders: The Prodigy #125 (another new track needed about now plz), Madonna #138, Kelly Clarkson #140, Rymez 'The Love Story' EP #142, Shawn Mendes #152, a second version of Madonna #156 (cheaper so presumably standard but neither are tagged), Ne-Yo #166.

Great to see the Rebel Heart pre-orders doing much better now. Mike Tyson effect.

 

As for Kodaline, it does seem likely that they'll miss the top spot - #19 on Amazon whilst Sam Smith is #1 and only 2.5k separating the two in the mids. As I mentioned in the SCP thread, I believe their first album was a midweek #1 despite not making it officially so they've been really unlucky!

Prodigy & James Bay's albums sales are goin to be HUGE!!

Just looked up some Four Owls tracks. I was kind of hoping they'd actually be rapping more about the the birds, but their main lyrical agenda seems to be "we used to smoke lots of weed" and "we're really good at rapping". To be fair they're not bad but they're not very unusual either.

Suspect I may be the only person who's a member of Buzzjack and the British Trust for Ornithology, but I'm willing to be proved wrong on that.

Ah that's disappointing, I was hoping from the description I'd read of them that they'd made a concept album about birds.

Drake's new album is almost certainly the real #1 but still not showing up in the feed at the moment. Florence got as high as #2 earlier <3 Kodaline already out of the top 10 though? Eek.
