50. THE COMMON LINNETS - CALM AFTER THE STORM (31 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 1
OCC PEAK: 9 (1wk)

AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 11
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 3
POSITIVE VOTES: 21
NEGATIVE VOTES: 17
RUN: 2
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE 31

The first Eurovision song to enter this list since "Euphoria" although not quite smashing as much as that did, it came 16th in the 2012 YE, and #1 on average points list, it still did very well especially for a non-winner and a country song, hopefully we'll see more country songs like this enter as I have quite the soft spot for them.

The first Duke Dumont song not to get the OCC#1 which is a shame as it's by far my favourite of the three and one of my favourite songs of the last year, "I Got U" is still to come.

Another BJSC entrant at #48, this was Seven's entry and nearly got a Reshuffle #1 but was bested by 3 point by Lilly Wood. Sunlight finishes higher than WLB as it recieved seven "+5"s compared to WLB's four.

Won't Look Back :music:  great tune :D Shame it never looked back in the chart :nocheer: (although it did re-enter the top 100 on sales only during the GCE)

Sunlight is also great. Unfortunately it didn't stay as long as I'd've liked :(

Yet another dance one-week top 10 hit here, and another BJSC entrant this time a winner, didn't help it get a #1 hit here though.

Clean Bandit followed up "Rather Be" with this, perhaps a more subtle dance song but I really liked it and although it didn't do as well as "Rather Be" or "Real Love" it still didn't get any -5s.

What an amazing run of tracks.

Also Extraordinary is TEN TIMES better than Rather Be, such a quality song.

Beyoncé manages a decent finish in this countdown with the second single but fan favourite from her eponymous album. Not my favourite song by her by a mile, but I can see the appeal. DIL finishes higher than Extraordinary as it recieved nine "+5"s compared to Extraordinary's four.

Stopped from Reshuffle #1 by Calvin & Ellie, this song seemed quite present on Buzzjack but not so strong in the mainstream, and I wouldn't guess it was the same artist behind "Untouched" unless told. This has very much Christina Perri vibes to it. Like it, adored "Untouched" though.

Foxes next, whom i'd have like to see a smidge more success from in 2014, as i really liked "Youth" and "Holding On To Heaven" and this song was great as well. Hopefully she'll get a big hit soon.

Ed Sheeran's highest song on the countdown is "Don't" which is my least favourite song on x but whatever. It does have the plus of finishing 42nd with 42 points for it. It means "Budapest" wins out of the Sheeran/Smith/Ezra songs.

Very surprising considering its week at #10 in this!

Is this your T40 of the year?

'Won't Look Back' doing that well seems very odd in retrospect (though I remember if got a TON of love when it first premiered somehow).

Ew at The Common Linnets.

I didn't love Blonde's track but it was good, and Clean Bandit's track wasn't that extraordinary but still good

Don't go much on DOL but YRM is quite good :)

LGFT is quite a good track :D I hope she can deliver some good tunes this year :music:

Don't, well it's quite catchy and good, but it is taking far too long to fall :drama: of course I don't need to go into Ed's OTHER tracks

IDC is quite a good track too :D

40. TEN WALLS - WALKING WITH ELEPHANTS (46 POINTS)

The beautifully atmospheric "Walking With Elephants" kicks off the T40 with style, seems to be decisive but I thought it was really well recieved stalling only behind "Prayer In C". WWE finishes higher than IDC as it recieved eight "+5"s compared to IDC's seven. There are only four one weekers left now with "Giant In My Heart", "Glow", "Riptide" & "Salute" - But who finished higher?
WWE :music: I often see so much hate with it here, so I'm rather surprised to see it so high! :cheer:
