January 5, 201510 yr Pleased to see Back to Black here - an album I can listen to again and again! and one i DO listen to again and again  An all-time favourite of mine <3
January 5, 201510 yr and one i DO listen to again and again  An all-time favourite of mine <3 Shame she never got the chance to release a follow-up. :( Probably wouldn't have topped it but she definitely had enough to talk about to make another personal and beautiful album.
January 5, 201510 yr Shame she never got the chance to release a follow-up. :( Probably wouldn't have topped it but she definitely had enough to talk about to make another personal and beautiful album. I'm not sure how another album in the light of the huge success of 'Back to Black' would have gone from her. This remains a sensational way to bow out, and maybe a follow up would have dented that? Who knows. But as you say, she certainly still had so much to say and write about so it is a huge shame regardless. :(
January 5, 201510 yr It's a shame to see the worst album I ever had the misfortune of hearing sold 508,000 copies.

GREATEST HITS- Foo Fighters (71-66-68-70-70) 572,700 (T/S 888,700) 69. TIME- Rod Stewart (64-69) 578,000 68. MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY- Rod Stewart (71-62-68) 583,700 67. ONLY BY THE NIGHT- Kings Of Leon (31-44-50-60-67) 587,700 (T/S 2,847,900) 66. THE GIFT- Susan Boyle (13-32-40-55-66) 609,900 The Foo Fighters prove they have consistency as “Greatest Hits” becomes the first of 8 non movers on this list and Rod has two albums side by side though his “Merry Christmas Baby” might have expected to have done slightly better this Christmas than it did. “Only By The Night” continues to shift under the radar with a further 26k being snapped up in 2014 as its total swells to 2.84 million, Susan Boyle once had three albums here but only “The Gift” remains as it slides 11 slots. EVERY KINGDOM- Ben Howard (97-61-65) 618,200 64. FALL TO GRACE- Paloma Faith (62-58-64) 626,600 63. TURN IT UP- Pixie Lott (17-33-41-53-63) 627,000 (T/S 875,300) 62. SEASONS OF MY SOUL- Rumer (36-36-43-54-62) 630,500 61. 4- Beyonce (48-45-56-61) 636,200 Five fallers here with Ben Howard experiencing the least slide of just 4 slots, that new album must have helped. Beyonce’s last album stays outside the top 100 meaning that “4” remains her biggest seller this decade, and it’s album No 2 for Paloma Faith who so far has slightly diminishing returns on her albums- that should be rectified shortly though. i0mMPOmtCXI
January 7, 201510 yr Happy Paloma has held up ok so far. Fall To Grace could be overtaken by A Perfect Contradiction next year (or the year after) which I wouldn't mind as I prefer APC.
January 7, 201510 yr I thought Turn it Up's total sales were much higher than that! Pixie really has performed embarrassingly poor with her subsequent albums.

OUTTA THIS WORLD- JLS (18-28-37-47-57) 680,800 56. UNAPOLOGETIC- Rihanna (58-46-56) 698,900 George Ezra is the big news here as the third biggest album of 2014 is also the 58th Biggest of the decade. JLS fail to feature in the top 50 for the first time this decade as they’ve all now moved on and Rebecca Ferguson can only dream of those album sales now we9jeU76Y9E

DO YOU WANT THE TRUTH OR SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL- Paloma Faith (42-64-73-63-52) 584,500 (T/S 714,500) 51. IN AND OUT OF CONCIOUSNESS- GREATEST HITS 1990-2010- Robbie Williams (14-29-36-43-51) 724,900 The battle of the Take That boys ends with a Robbie victory here though he falls back 8 spots with his 2010 greatest hits set, Gary meanwhile rockets 23 places up the list after a successful 2014. Jake Bugg’s debut still has its fan whilst Paloma Faith’s debut is still her biggest album. WbN0nX61rIs
January 7, 201510 yr 52. DO YOU WANT THE TRUTH OR SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL- Paloma Faith (42-64-73-63-52) 714,500 (T/S 844,600) That is a massive climb this year. Didn't realise it had sold that well in 2014!
January 7, 201510 yr That is a massive climb this year. Didn't realise it had sold that well in 2014! I think it may have been on the budget chart a lot this year. Almost 850k is a great result for Paloma's debut, especially since it didn't have the most consistent of chart runs initially.
January 7, 201510 yr Author Mmm mistake-a-reeno, DYWTTORB's total sales are 714,500 of which only 584,500 are in this decade- My mistake! I'll adjust the list at the end!

SWINGS BOTH WAYS- Robbie Williams (52-50) 727,200 49. BAD BLOOD- Bastille (79-49) 733,700 48. TO BE LOVED- Michael Buble (50-48) 754,800 47. MY WORLD- Justin Bieber (12-22-29-40-47) 766,000 46. NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS- Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (27-32-38-46) 774,000 Robbie’s biggest seller moves just 2 spots over the course of 2014 but his rise is dwarfed by Bastille who soar 30 places, yet they can’t quite catch the poorest performing album by Buble for a decade, “To Be Loved”. Nevermind it’s still shifted over 750k so his career is hardly dented by it. kffacxfA7G4

LADY KILLER- Cee-Lo Green (23-28-37-45) 774,600 44. SCIENCE AND FAITH- The Script (19-27-30-39-44) 777,300 43. AM- Arctic Monkeys (73-43) 779,600 42. LIGHTS- Ellie Goulding (24-25-35-41-42) 781,300 41. NOTHING BUT THE BEAT- David Guetta (90-46-36-41) 803,500 The joint highest climber on our list comes from Arctic Monkeys who rise 30 places (matching Bastille) and is somewhat of a return to form selling double the previous effort “Suck It And See”. If Guetta does half as well with “Listen” as he did with “Nothing But The Beat” then he’ll doubtless be happy given its start, but one woman who has done better the next time around is Ellie Goulding who slides just a spot. fBf2v4mLM8k
January 8, 201510 yr Pleased with the Gary Barlow jump, and great to get a total for oasis time flies,I love these countdowns .
January 8, 201510 yr I didn't realise Ellie's first album had sold so well. It feels like she made it 'big' this time around. Edited January 8, 201510 yr by London81
January 9, 201510 yr Would it be right to suggest Pixie's first album sold more last year than the actual album she released in 2014? :o Edited January 9, 201510 yr by mr_aly
