gotta love how iTunes credits The Weeknd on the album version of Elastic Heart, even though he's not on it. Classic iTunes error~

much prefer the solo version anyway, didn't realise there was one until a few days ago.

950. When the Beat Drops Out - Marlon Roudette

WOW I'm wondering how it will perform in the UK. In Germany it was number 1, last summer! Quite a late release.

Now been pushed back to March 1st, originally scheduled to be released in a couple of weeks. I hope radio get behind this because it's marvelous

It's still not gone top 40 on Spotify yet so I am not sure but I hope so. We need newer tracks knocking out the stale old ones.

Indeed, a lot of the thurs-sat increases for songs on iTunes are due to held back NE falling and it doesn't help them as much. Cool Kids has been on streaming services before release and so it's been in the top 100 for a while so starts from a higher base hopefully.

It really proves the problem we have now of record companies either not realising the importance of streaming and not adding them earlier to the service or what I think it is - a reaction against the new streaming rule by stopping songs going to stream until download release which causes either much shorter chart runs or high peaks and slow middle chart runs clogging up the chart.

I'm pretty sure most songs have been added to streaming services the same week as they're added to iTunes for a lot longer than streaming has been included in the charts.

Yeh that's true, I didn't think my point through very well but it is frustrating when songs take ages to take off on streaming because they aren't on there until the download release which has been seen to ruin many chart runs but I suppose if a song becomes popular it doesn't overly matter.

I guess my frustration is that I don't see the point of holding back a songs on streaming service in comparison to a download being given a release date and held back demand?!

Still can't believe Fake only charted at 33, İ feel as if Fake is reply to Criticise. İ managed to go see Alexandra O'neil in 2012 with my Mom as she is a massive fan of his and to be honest İ was quite surprised at how good he was, glad to see Critisize getting a few more sales.

Also brilliant to see Fergie so high on pre-orders, hopefully can get top 5 officially, can't see it getting number one but would love to be proved wrong. İt's all over the music channels at the moment.

The biggest problem with adding tracks to streaming before official release is they don't get anywhere on streaming for the first week and it takes a while to pick up, and two weeks later the track has dropped to the lower echelons on the chart and briefly stabilises there (but obviously as it's lower down it's not getting any airplay or anything any more which harms it).

They all need to be added at least two weeks before to balance it out, so by the time it's released for sale it can hit the ground running with streaming to bolster it.

But a re-release charted at #16 according to that history which was posted. :P

Indeed that sounds like the perfect compromise. Makes you wonder how if we can see that record companies haven't caught onto it?!

Cool Kids - Echosmith  23

Ok I'd be surprised if this isn't at least #40 in today's mids (Friday). Good to see it doing so well though.

It's funny to see Elastic Heart taking off now... Two years after it was first released

Funny but very pleasing  hopefully radio gets behind it and she bags herself another Top 10 single!
