Old Money is really nice and I'd forgotten how good it is. I've only really enjoyed this and West Coast so far though, Brooklyn Baby has it's moments but could do with being significantly shorter.

It feels much more natural than Born to Die, which I never liked.

You should give 'Flipside' (Japanese bonus track) a listen, such a GEM. It would've slotted in perfectly just before 'The Other Woman'

ANY dirge moaning would have fit in-between ANY of the identical-sounding plodding mor bores that make it up

I used to adore Born to Die but a year on and Ultraviolence is way better (apart from Video Games, Summertime Sadness and maybe Born to Die) but I was way too harsh to UV in the beginning, Brooklyn Baby, Cruel World, West Coast, Florida Kilos and Old Money receive regular daily plays.
Lana would be such a Sad Girl if she read most of these scathing comments. How any of you can consider yourself Lana fans if you hate UV is beyond me. UV is amazing.

Perhaps they don't consider them selves Lana fans any more.

UV just takes time and an open mind.

Ultraviolence is okay. It was quite a disappointment and inferior to Born To Die honestly :( I never got round to liking Ultraviolence as much as I did with her first era which is quite unfortunate.

You see for me as a Lana fan, the worst thing she's ever done is that remix to "Summertime Sadness". A truly haunting song that got given a hit treatment. That feels very unauthentic for Lana for me, whilst I'm sure 99% of BuzzJack loves that.

But I remember a BTD:P rate on here and "Yayo" came last and everyone was so happy and I was so gobsmacked. For me songs like "Yayo" and the entirity of "Ultraviolence" are far more authentic of Lana. This melachony, female Leonald Cohen figure.

On a side note, how far is she with "Honeymoon". I thought she'd completed 9 songs but now Mark Ronsons producing the entire thing?

Mark Ronson could be interesting actually, that could work out to creating something different. Something with the swagger of 'Diet Mountain Dew' could be good to build on.

Well, you had better deal with it then. One can be a fan of the artist in general and dislike a particular piece of their work. (Its cray ikr!)

i'm gonna take a WILD guess and say that maybe he was exaggerating for effect i.e. joking? i could be wrong... i could be

Yep gotta agree with everything you said here. Yayo is fantastic. I guess a lot of people aren't fans of the subtlety but i love it.

Haha maybe I was just throwing the bait out there waiting for someone to bite :D

Still love UV though....that bit wasn't an exaggeration

Yes yes everyone who dislikes the album is close minded. It's all a big conspiracy. We all wanted to hate it!

I'm glad we agree.

I'm not saying anyone wanted to hate UV Jark... I just find it funny how people are more concerned with hit-sounding songs rather than beautiful, works of art.

You keep going on about commerciality when no one on here has actually said anything about Ultraviolence not being commercial enough. We just want better songs, that's all.

This.

What IS the concept of the albuuum erryone be going on aboot anyway??

The only concept I hear is in making the songs sound exactly the same, plodding monotone borefests. Yayo is pretty much better than anything on it.
