January 8, 201510 yr A print run of a million for the magazine next week compared to 60,000 other weeks and they expect to sell every copy!
January 8, 201510 yr I've moved this to the News forum as i feel it's better placed here~ I was out most of yesterday so got home to my dad watching it on the News. Truly horrifying scenes and i echo most of what else has been said here, i just pray they're stopped before there are any more fatalities :/
January 8, 201510 yr A print run of a million for the magazine next week compared to 60,000 other weeks and they expect to sell every copy! This is what is stupid really. All it's done is increase public awareness in the magazine, and I dare say encourage freedom of speech. I really don't get what they were trying to achieve here. I'm really interested to know whether this was just the two brothers acting alone, or whether it's part of a larger terrorist plot. I'm expecting the latter.
January 8, 201510 yr At least the BBC have given some airtime to Muslims condemning this atrocity. All too often, Muslim voices are not heard which just encourages the belief that most Muslims support terrorism. The truth is that most Muslims oppose yesterday's attack just as much as the rest of us. So true. The murderers obviously want to be famous and viewed as some sort of eternal heroes to Islam, so I say what I said about the nutter who murdered John Lennon who wanted to go down in history: chuck 'em in prison till they grow old and forgotten and never mention their name in the media, any four-letter word would do instead.
January 9, 201510 yr The "suspects" have bumped into the police while fleeing with a stolen car, currently holding one person hostage in Dammartin-en-Goële, north of Paris. French media are reporting 2 death and 20 wounded during a gunfight during the "bump", but this is unconfirmed BFwedk4dBCc Edited January 9, 201510 yr by *Tim
January 9, 201510 yr Another shooting has just taken place in a kosher supermarket in eastern Paris. Reports are 1 wounded and a hostage taken. Such awful events unfolding day by day in France.
January 9, 201510 yr Report say the guy in the supermarket is the same guy that shot a policewomen yesterday (?) in the south of Paris. He and the 2 brothers are all linked to Al Queda Yemen right now. According to news sources at least 5 hostages held in the supermarket and 1 in the warehouse with the 2 brothers, who said they were ready to die as martyrs Horrific day for not only France, but the whole of Europe I think
January 9, 201510 yr Hopefully anyone who is taken hostage in both hostages will come out alive and save.
January 9, 201510 yr Gunshots and explosions were heard in Dammartin and the press is being pushed back, but it's quiet again Police has confirmed the "attack" has begun Edited January 9, 201510 yr by *Tim
January 9, 201510 yr Several people have been freed from the supermarket and it seems the hostage has been ended after a police attack in Paris. The attacks were launched within minutes after each other and it seems like the hostages in Paris are freed
January 9, 201510 yr Both Kouachis and the supermarket hostage taker are reportedly now dead. No hostage casualties by the looks of things but I was hoping the terrorists would be captured alive, wasn't expecting it to happen though. Really hope this whole mess is over now... They're also now saying the second shooting incident was linked to the first one apparently.
January 9, 201510 yr They are linked to the same terrorist organisation and the super market hostage taker actually demanded brothers to be able to flee or he would kill hostages I'd say it's pretty certain they were linked somehow
January 9, 201510 yr They are linked to the same terrorist organisation and the super market hostage taker actually demanded brothers to be able to flee or he would kill hostages I'd say it's pretty certain they were linked somehow I was referring to the attack that killed a police officer yesterday (although that may be the same perpetrator as the supermarket hostage taker?) May have spoken too soon about there being no hostage casualties, now being reported that 4 were killed in the supermarket :(
January 9, 201510 yr This is the first time in years that i have been too affected to even watch the news. I had it on for a short while earlier but i couldn't actually bare to watch it because it was so terrifying so i turned off. I just pray there is some sort of peace now for the country with this first glimpse of it coming to some sort of close. But that might just be me being optimistic...
January 9, 201510 yr I was referring to the attack that killed a police officer yesterday (although that may be the same perpetrator as the supermarket hostage taker?) May have spoken too soon about there being no hostage casualties, now being reported that 4 were killed in the supermarket :( Oh right, yeah that was the same man according to the news. 4 hostages dead:( There must've been more than 5 people in the store as I saw quite a lot running out EDIT; Apparantly the female suspect has escaped after it was initianally reported they had captured her when she surrendered Edited January 9, 201510 yr by *Tim
January 9, 201510 yr was walking around the marais (jewish area) today as the police ordered all the shops there to close until they deemed it safe. so spooky.

January 9, 201510 yr God, who are the sick people who do these things? They disgust me. Also, on the bus yesterday I was talking about this and someone pointed out that if we're not careful, we could end up with these people as our government. (Well, technically people aren't stupid enough to vote for terrorists for Head of Government, but the average number of children for a woman is under 2 in Europe, but theirs is higher, so it is possible that some country ends up with extremists in their government, and then... that country is almost certainly doomed.) And here's a cartoon I saw in History/Geography today:
