Cars 2 is a 2011 American computer-animated action comedy spy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is the sequel to the 2006 film Cars and features the voices of Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, John Turturro, and Eddie Izzard. In the film, race car Lightning McQueen and tow truck Mater head to Japan and Europe to compete in the World Grand Prix, but Mater becomes sidetracked with international espionage. The film is directed by John Lasseter, co-directed by Brad Lewis, written by Ben Queen, and produced by Denise Ream.

Cars 2 was released in the United States on June 24, 2011 (five years after the first film). The film was presented in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D, as well as traditional two-dimensional and IMAX formats. The film was first announced in 2008, alongside Up, Newt, and Brave, and it is the 12th animated film from the studio. The film received mixed reviews and despite a great opening in America, it became the first Pixar movie to miss 200M since A Bug's Life in 1998 and the least attended Pixar movie ever. Cars 2 marks the first Pixar film not to be nominated for an Oscar. It is also the first Pixar film not nominated for Best Animated Feature in the history of that Award (2001–present].

Cars 2 grossed $191,452,396 in the USA and Canada, and $368,400,000 in other territories for a worldwide total of $559,852,396. Worldwide on its opening weekend it grossed $109.0 million, marking the largest opening weekend for a 2011 animated title. Overall, Cars 2 became seventh biggest Pixar film in worldwide box office among the fourteen released.

Cars 2 made $25.7 million on its debut Friday in America(June 24, 2011), marking the third-largest opening day for a Pixar film after Toy Story 3's $41.1 million. At the time, though, it was the third least-attended opening day for a Pixar film, only ahead of Up and Ratatouille. It also scored the sixth largest opening day for an animated feature. On its opening weekend as a whole, Cars 2 debuted at No.1 with $66.1 million, marking the largest opening weekend for a 2011 animated feature, the seventh largest opening for Pixar, the eighth largest among films released in June,, and the fourth largest for a G-rated film. In its second weekend, however, the film dropped 60.3%, the largest second weekend drop ever for a Pixar film, and grossed $26.2 million

I find Cars 2 very underrated and a really really good and fun Pixar movie. However lets get that awful 1st movie out.

As I have copied most of the information from Wikipedia for the description, I will make a personal banner for each film [like the one underneath] that goes out. Also this round should run a little longer after the 15 vote gap in the last round.

I'm assuming there is a Cars vendetta on this forum?

Yes, they ruined the legacy of Pixar

Brave.

Not poor brave Cars.

This is why you're still pretty flawless tbh.
Monsters University as...I haven't seen it, but Brave & Cars can go too. They're all deadwood and then we have a mainly flawless list.

First 4/5 eliminations are pretty obvious (Cars 2, Cars, Brave, Monsters University/A Bugs Life), but later on it'll get very interesting for sure!

I only hope Up doesn't make it much further, it's the most overrated Pixar film ever (owing to the beginning of the film, I guess).

Cars is slightly more entertaining.

I think it'll go:

Cars 2

Cars

Brave

Monsters University

A Bug's Life

Ratatouille

Wall-E

After that I couldn't guess. I hope Wall-E finishes higher though.
