February 2, 201510 yr RE: Gabriella Cilmi - "Sweet About Me" was amazing and an unexpected addition to my playlist a while back. If she comes out with anything like that, I'd be on board. MARTIN GARRIX    for only two UK Top 10's, he's done quite well Also did not know that Oliver Heldens wasn't even 20 yet :D Although I think he has a mustache in the pictures I saw him in?
February 2, 201510 yr Also did not know that Oliver Heldens wasn't even 20 yet :D Although I think he has a mustache in the pictures I saw him in? I don't think it's impossible/illegal for men under 20 to grow moustaches :P Although you're right, he does look a lot older than 20 with his beard & moustache. Edited February 2, 201510 yr by Mango
February 2, 201510 yr Also did not know that Oliver Heldens wasn't even 20 yet :D Although I think he has a mustache in the pictures I saw him in? He turned 20 yesterday, actually! :P Really enjoying this thread!
February 2, 201510 yr Fond memories of Holly Valance and remember loving Kiss Kiss at time and it's still a great tune, and even bought her album although weren't keen on Down Boy, but loved Naughty Girl and Tuck Your Shirt In, the good old days. Also remember watching DOA Dead Or Alive the movie, in which Holly was in and again such a fun action movie. Shame she never released anymore music after her second album.
February 2, 201510 yr Author 65.LEON JACKSON (564,000) 2 HITS http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00654/news-graphics-2007-_654805a.jpg X Factor winner 2007, oh c’mon now you DO remember! Yes Jackson won in that year and promptly shoved his cover of “When You Believe” out for Christmas and it naturally topped the charts but on a sales figure of just 275k which was considered a “Flop” at the time. Certainly his career ended up being one of the most unsuccessful not even cracking the 600k mark. MNsvv-iykjo
February 2, 201510 yr Author 64.BIRDIE (565,000) 5 HITS http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/87/Birdy.png Another act who still in her teens Birdy rose to fame in 2008 when she won “Open Mic UK” when she was just 12 and three years later she released her debut single “Skinny Love” her version of the Bon Ivor 2008 track. The original only made No 88 but Birdy’s recording went much better getting top 20 after support from Radio 1. aNzCDt2eidg

We’re still waiting for the second album and of course now he’s too old for his sales to count for this thread but he still has a faultless top 10 hit rate. OwP6U0LRzQM
February 2, 201510 yr I remember really liking Leon on the show and thinking his winner's single was pretty decent! He clearly wasn't a 'star' but he was a likeable guy with a great voice so I've always felt a bit sorry for him as he never had anything resembling success. Not exactly sure what happened there but I imagine he was screwed over somewhat with the focus on Leona at the time and the musical direction chosen for him. Birdy gets far too much disdain on here! Her voice is beautiful and both her albums have great moments. Conor Maynard's always seemed majorly overhyped to me (and so cringeworthy in performances/videos :arrr:) but he did deliver with a couple of singles.
February 2, 201510 yr Skinny Love was good but she never really progressed from there. I did like People Help The People/Wings for about a week though but got boring fast (Skinny Love got boring at times too but that was more due to its really long chart run) Conor Maynard did some good singles, wonder if he'll keep the quality up with whatever he does next. YAY for Oliver Heldens / Martin Garrix appearances :cheer:
February 2, 201510 yr 'Contrast' is a fabulous album and i will hear nothing against it. His singles were mostly 10/10 and a lot else on the album was up to their standard too. Not sure what happened with 'R U Crazy' but hoping he comes back well soon despite that slight blip.
February 2, 201510 yr Birdy's crimes will never be forgiven. (Even though I really liked 'Wings' from the second album).

The group were plagued by bad press and various brushes with the law which saw them splinter in 2003 though they continue in a fashion to this day. One member of O & N mark osei-tutu (Oxide) now plays Rugby Union for London Cornish by way of trivia. VHUEP7jQPN8
February 3, 201510 yr Author 61.SOULJA BOY TELL EM (584,000) 5 HITS http://media.komonews.com/images/081217_Soulja_Boy.jpg Remember back in 2007 we all wanted to know what “Superman a ho” was- and then we found out......nice. Anyway “Crank That” came with its own dance and topped the US charts for 7 weeks becoming something of an anticipated here when released. It went to No 2 held off by Leon Jackson (this thread is sweet revenge for him) and he seemed quite happy to have one single a year to chart until 2011 when they stopped. 47Fbo4kU2AU

Kelly’s list contains her first three hits including her rather “individual” interpretation of Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach”. d5hfIYNuwwM
