February 1, 201510 yr :o very Ball-friendly! You know i love the Beast and though that's not my favourite song of her's (or album!!) it's still a banger. I hope we get a 3rd album this year, if only for the fun times and moments the era would provide us with :heehee: GAGA :cheer: Seeing her live is such an experience i agree, so i am glad you enjoyed it. You know my feelings about her already lol and it makes me proud that i helped get you into her http://www.clickmusic.com/images/uploads/chris-maloney-naked-gay-times.jpg ~ And Mariah *_* '#Beautiful' is my #1 from her too
February 2, 201510 yr Author 36 Shakira (album: Laundry Service // song: Hips Don't Lie) 37 Marina and the Diamonds (album: Electra Heart // song: Primadonna) 38 Adele (album: 19 // song: Chasing Pavements) 39 Pixie Lott (album: Young Foolish Happy // song: Boys & Girls) 40 Iggy Azalea (album: The New Classic // song: Fancy) Just heading into the top 40 now with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Iggy was someone I really did not like at first, I didn't *get* Work and found it quite terrible. Then it got stuck in my head and I downloaded it the next morning, rapidly becoming addicted lol. Bounce premiered around the same time so I had two Iggy songs to obsess over, with Work entering my chart at #1 and Bounce peaking at #3. Iggy's had four further #1s, with Change Your Life, Fancy and Black Widow, plus Ariana Grande collaboration Problem. I'd have called you crazy if you told me she'd appear in my top 40 artists here back when I first heard Work! My favourite track from Iggy is without a doubt Fancy. Another huge grower, I really wasn't sold at first but it blossomed into my favourite track of 2014, and rightfully so. Keep it up please Iggy! Buzzjack favourite Pixie Lott is next. Contrary to most, I love Pixie and am not ashamed to admit it. Turn It Up was a damn fine pop album and Boys & Girls is a really great track. Young Foolish Happy, however, is even better imo, and I realise I'm in the minority here. It was a bit less consistent than Turn It Up but absolutely has higher highs overall, tracks like We Just Go On, Love You To Death, All About Tonight and Bright Lights (Good Life) Pt II are fantastic. Pixie's third album was a very pleasant listen and her most consistent effort to date but not quite as good as the first two for me. Platinum Pixie makes a mostly good listen though. The What Do You Take Me For? snub on it is something I'll never get over though. Oh and shoutout to her two most underrated tracks - Broken Arrow and Catching Snowflakes  Adele took the world by STORM in 2011 with second album 21, smashing world records and shooting into the UK's most bought albums ever. However, my love for Adele came about with her debut hit Chasing Pavements, and that to date remains my favourite track of hers. 19 is a really good album, about three tracks I'm not keen on and I'll happily listen to the rest and enjoy them. Make You Feel My Love is actually one of the three I wouldn't mind skipping :o It's a tad boring for me and I've always thought that. 21, whilst a good album, doesn't have quite the same magic as 19 for me but still great. I wish the two could swap sales though :kink: Other Adele highlights for me are Hometown Glory, Melt My Heart To Stone and Turning Tables. I never actually heard more than one song by Marina and the Diamonds for a little while, I'd heard Oh No! on a music channel and didn't think much of it, heard nothing else until a bit before Primadonna was released. Thankfully, my mind was changed quickly because she's released two killer albums to date. The Family Jewels and Electra Heart are two very different albums but are still recognisably Marina. Marina's honesty shines through across many of her songs, notably in track Teen Idle which is beautifully haunting, and one of her finest moments for me. New song Froot initially gave me low hopes for the new album, also titled Froot, but it grew on me after a few repeated listens. I've avoided any of the other new songs because I want to save them until the album release but it's safe to say my expectations are high! I've loved Shakira from a very young age, I remember being on holiday in Ireland and listening to a lot of Shakira there I must've only been about 9 years old! Laundry Service was an album I listened to loads at the time, with highlights of course being the three singles - Objection (Tango), Underneath Your Clothes and Whenever, Wherever - plus album tracks like Que Me Quedes Tu and Eyes Like Yours (Ojos Asi). My love for Shakira grew further with songs like Hips Don't Lie and Beautiful Liar, both of which are in my top 10 songs of all-time (or were last year anyway!). Shakira constantly brings some fantastic Latin pop with each album, and most recent album, Shakira., was kinda different in sound for her but it worked, with tracks like Empire and You Don't Care About Me standing out especially.
February 3, 201510 yr Author 31 Avril Lavigne (album: Under My Skin // song: Innocence) 32 Paloma Faith (album: Fall To Grace // song: Only Love Can Hurt Like This) 33 Jennifer Lopez (album: J.Lo // song: Live It Up) 34 Demi Lovato (album: Demi // song: Heart Attack) 35 Kylie Minogue (album: Aphrodite // song: 2 Hearts) Australian singer Kylie Minogue kicks off this section. It took me AGES to fully appreciate Kylie, for reasons I don't really know other than the fact that I used to be quite close-minded when it came to music. I'd heard many Kylie songs but it wasn't until 2012 when I first heard Timebomb that I was fully swayed. And thank god for that. After that, I went back and bought many Kylie albums and started to appreciate the songs I shut out in the past - 2 Hearts, Wow, Can't Get You Out of My Head, Love At First Sight, Spinning Around, etc. Pop gems that I never let myself enjoy. That's why you shouldn't be close-minded, you block out stuff you actually like. Then feel stupid when you have to explain why http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/uploads/group_images/of_18_icon.gif Demi Lovato is up next, it also took me a while to come round to her but at least with Demi, I stand by my opinions of her first two albums :heehee: Mostly, they don't do much for me, bar a few tracks (Every Time You Lie  ). It wasn't until third album Unbroken where I was totally convinced by her. Polished pop rather than Disney style pop/rock. Fourth album Demi stepped it up even further. Demi knew what direction she was going in and made one of the best albums of 2013. Absolutely more than just a Disney star, and she didn't have to resort to Miley Cyrus measures to shake off the Disney tag either. There's a bit of a theme in this section - artists that Joseph was late arriving to. Jennifer Lopez is another in this group, it was in 2013 when I finally saw the light with J-Lo, although in my defence, I hadn't (knowingly) heard much of her past material - just songs like Jenny From the Block and On the Floor on the radio, without thinking much of them. Thankfully, I know appreciate that both are huge jams. Live It Up was the real turning point though. God knows I love a generic RedOne banger with Pitbull involved too so this song was a blessing from the gods for me. One of my favourite songs of 2013 without a doubt and my clear song of the summer. My favourite Pitbull rap too tbh. Like with Kylie, I went back and listened to everything I missed, and J-Lo without a doubt became one of my favourite artists of 2013. Shame recent album A.K.A. was a bit sub-par :( Paloma Faith was also someone I came late to, it was Never Tear Us Apart that brought the turning point for her, although I think I'd only heard Upside Down and Stone Cold Sober beforehand, and even then, I didn't know the latter was her until I bought the debut album! Paloma is a great artist to follow, she always puts on such a great show with extravagant outfits and lots of thought behind each and every tiny detail, which pays off in her music. She's managed to keep her own style without ripping off her own songs or albums, so no wonder she's had such huge success over the years despite the ever changing album market! Seeing Paloma live in 2013 was a joy, as said before, every detail was thought about and Paloma's audience interaction was really great, constantly joking about how she'd only "half sold out" the O2 Arena  Finally, an exception to the trend in this section which comes from Avril Lavigne. I've loved Avril from a young age, and it's hard to remember what the first song I heard by her was. It could've been Don't Tell Me, which was new at that time, or Complicated. Either way, I stumbled across her on a music channel, like with a lot of artists back in the day. Avril's produced so many great songs, from her pop/rock upbeat tracks like Girlfriend and What The Hell, to the ballads like When You're Gone and album track Innocence, which is an absolute beauty. Avril's vocals are refined and it's a track that stood out to me instantly when listening to The Best Damn Thing. Avril's kinda lost her way in recent times although she can still make cracking tracks like Rock N Roll

February 3, 201510 yr I will accept Avril! She's pretty fantastic. Innocence is definitely a highlight as well, one of the best on that album purely for the climax.
February 5, 201510 yr Let's do this. 31 Avril Lavigne Fave. Pretty much her entire second album, back when I was 13 and ~moody~ :drama: 32 Paloma Faith 33 Jennifer Lopez Fave. Perfect choice of album, her back catalogue is ridiculously good. 34 Demi Lovato 35 Kylie Minogue 36 Shakira 37 Marina and the Diamonds 38 Adele Fave. Overplay hasn't ruined a single song of hers! 39 Pixie Lott 40 Iggy Azalea 41 Mariah Carey 43 Lady Gaga 44 Alexandra Burke Elephant and Let It Go are easily my favorites :o Start Without You is underrated as well! 47 Natasha Bedingfield Do you like/know Touch, from the Strip Me album? Should've smashed  48 Rox Mentioned this once before but I still remember My Baby Left Me! 50 Conor Maynard 51 Carly Rae Jepsen 52 Gabrielle Aplin ^These two need to get releasing! 53 Lewis Watson Based solely on Stay, I haven't checked anything else out yet :heehee: 54 5 Seconds of Summer 56 Ariana Grande 57 Rita Ora 58 Kelly Rowland But, I strongly dislike Down For Whatever. What A Feeling though  59 Ed Sheeran 60 Ella Henderson Great so far! Somehow I can't see John the Legend making the top 30  :drama: :nono:
February 5, 201510 yr Author Thanks so much everyone :D Jordan - I heard Touch by NatBed a long while ago but not heard it since, remind me later on to relisten! I know there was one I really liked on that album, that might be it. Burke has lots of highlights also, I do like Elephant and Let It Go a lot still. And sadly John "Chart Saviour" Legend does not appear  I should hear all his albums and he'll be coming for #1 next time I do this tbh x
February 5, 201510 yr Author 26 Britney Spears (album: Britney Jean // song: Everytime) 27 Estelle (album: Shine // song: American Boy) 28 Ellie Goulding (album: Lights // song: Guns and Horses) 29 Sara Bareilles (album: Kaleidoscope Heart // song: Love Song) 30 Jem (album: Down To Earth // song: It's Amazing) Into the top 30 and we're kicking things off with Welsh singer/songwriter Jem. Jem had three top 40 hits back in 2005, the biggest of them being her debut single They, a really good track which I didn't hear until ~2008. I knew of Just a Ride though and was never that big a fan, it grew on me when I rediscovered it though. I got into Jem properly during 2008 when the first single from her second album, It's Amazing, was on a music channel. I had no idea who it was but I listened and really enjoyed it, and I'm so glad I did. For a while, I considered It's Amazing my favourite song of all-time, and it still holds a place in my heart. Down To Earth is an incredibly strong album and it's such a shame that it barely made an impact anywhere. Sara Bareilles is next, Rich will be pleased to hear! Love Song was recommended to me but I couldn't check it out because neither my friend, who suggested it, nor I had a clue what her surname was :kink: I finally heard it on the radio and fell in love with it straight away. Sara's one of the few artists me and my mum have in common - mum actually bought Little Voice, Sara's first major album release, instead of me  My love for Sara continued when I bought Kaleidoscope Heart in HMV (I stumbled across it, had no idea it actually existed before then ). IMO it's a better album than Little Voice, only just. Both are really great though. Third album The Blessed Unrest is an album I've not really listened to much but I really should revisit it at some point, I know I liked quite a few songs. My Sara highlights, other than Love Song, are King of Anything, Uncharted, Bottle It Up, Come Round Soon, Gravity and Hold My Heart. It took me a while to get into Ellie Goulding - I heard Starry Eyed and wasn't a fan, found it quite messy and strange, and that was all I heard of Ellie (knowingly) until Your Song. I fell in love with her cover of the Elton John classic very quickly, her voice worked perfectly with it. I bought it on iTunes, then had a preview of Bright Lights and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! This then led to my first use of the Complete My Album feature which I did not know existed until then :magic: Bright Lights then became an album I listened to lots for a while after that. The 10 tracks of the original Lights album are better than almost all of the re-release tracks though for me, hence why I listed Lights as my favourite Ellie album rather than Bright Lights. Second album Halcyon wasn't quite as good for me (I realise I'm in the minority here), and I enjoyed re-release Halcyon Days a lot more on the whole. Guess I'm here for commercial Ellie oops Our last dose of rap now as singer/rapper Estelle is at #27. I first heard of Estelle through American Boy - one of my favourite songs of all-time. I invested in the album, Shine, which is a really strong album, a perfect balance of her singing on songs like American Boy, In the Rain and No Substitute Love, and the more rap-heavy songs like So Much Out the Way. Yes, that's the song title. It makes absolutely no sense lmao but then neither does the song itself really. I went back and got debut album The 18th Day and enjoyed it almost as much. Third album All of Me wasn't quite as good but I enjoyed parts of it still. No idea what to expect from her upcoming fourth album as I've been underwhelmed by the singles so far but hopefully she can deliver some great tracks as she often does. Finally, Buzzjack favourite Britney Spears rounds off this section. Britney has one of THE strongest singles discographies I've ever seen, I really enjoy almost all of her singles. My trouble is, I've never really ventured much into her albums, at least not in YEARS. I'm only really familiar with Britney Jean, hence it being my favourite, but in the past I've heard almost all of the others at least once. I've been a fan of Britney's since Toxic at least, although I may have gotten into her earlier through music channels as with many artists I liked back then, I can't quite remember!
February 6, 201510 yr I really like everything I've heard from Jem! '24' was pushed as a single in the US way back when, didn't do much but that's how I discovered her and managed to come across 'They', 'Just A Ride', and 'It's Amazing' over the next few years. Yes for Sara Bareilles too  Bottle It Up is very underrated though I haven't listened to it in a long long time.
February 6, 201510 yr Author 24 is a highlight from the first album! She's got loads of highlights across both albums, I listened to both lots back in ~2008/9
February 6, 201510 yr Speaking of Sara, her best song..... By7YgbX3GuA Download and play on repeat pls.
February 8, 201510 yr Author 21 P!nk (album: I'm Not Dead // song: Blow Me (One Last Kiss)) 22 Sugababes (album: Catfights and Spotlights // song: About You Now) 23 Hunter Hayes (album: Storyline // song: Tattoo) 24 Nicola Roberts (album: Cinderella's Eyes // song: Lucky Day) 25 Katy Perry (album: Prism // song: Roar) So the first of the three artists I moderate an artist forum for now :magic: Katy Perry was yet ANOTHER person I took AGES to come around to. Not sure why I wasn't a fan at first, other than close-mindedness, but Calum convinced me to listen to Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection (and in return, he heard Taylor Swift's Speak Now), and I never looked back. Katy's just great at making pop tunes, nothing that breaks the boundaries of music but she doesn't claim to do that. I had the pleasure of seeing her live last year, and it was possibly the best night of my life, so much fun and easily the best concert I've been to, despite having seen a good few artists that I actually prefer overall! Prism is overall a more consistent album for me than Teenage Dream, hence why it's my favourite, but the latter has higher highs. I think we all know my love for Girls Aloud by now and it's no shock that they're still to come, and now we've come to one of two GA members to appear individually. Nicola Roberts has my favourite solo album by any of them, which surprised me a lot. Nicola used to be my favourite so I was looking forward to a solo album regardless but I didn't expect one as good as Cinderella's Eyes was, it's an album I still love listening to now and it hasn't aged at all. I really hope we get a second album from her because she's too talented to only do the one album. It was just over a year ago that I discovered Hunter Hayes, by watching the AMAs (I think) on VIVA for a little while. I happened to see the award for Best Male Country Artist and he was nominated, so they played a short clip of the I Want Crazy video. I was intrigued, he sounded like he had a good voice and was very cute looking too, so I checked him out. I fell in love right away. This is quite special for me cause male country artists don't do much for me typically, so Hunter is the first (and the only one to date) that I've really liked. I downloaded his debut album instantly and I listened to it non-stop for days. Genuinely didn't hear a single other song in that time. He bettered the self-titled debut with second album Storyline, which is an almost perfect album. Fingers crossed he finally breaks the UK at some point, such a shame the country songs have to get remixed into dance-pop form though. Since a young age, I loved the Sugababes. I remember In the Middle being on a music channel and hating it at the time  Push the Button totally sold me on them though, and I became HOOKED instantly, they were quite possibly my favourite artist back then  I used to check the Sugababes news websites every single day for any news, and read all the forums (although I never joined up, was always too young lol). It wasn't long after I started liking the Sugababes that Mutya left, then Amelle joined. She became my favourite quite quickly, I always loved her version of Red Dress more than Mutya's. 3.0 went on to become my favourite line-up, producing their two best albums during this line-up imo. Such a shame 3.0 had to end on such bad terms, which basically killed off the whole brand as Keisha, the last original member, got kicked out. Boo. Sweet 7 was good though tbf ~ P!nk was another artist I came to late. I was never that bothered by her at first and I'm confused as to why I thought that, seeing as I adore songs like So What now. Anyway, I heard Blow Me (One Last Kiss) and instantly liked it, so I downloaded it. That persuaded me to go back and download her GH album, which I am so glad I did because I was missing out on some amazing songs like Who Knew, an incredibly underrated track! I went through and listened to each and every one of her albums in full, and I'm Not Dead ended up as my favourite. I've listened to her most recent album, The Truth About Love, more than the others though. Oh and contrary to most, I'm not that big on Just Give Me a Reason. Not quite Michael levels but it's one of her worst singles oops.
