I just noticed there last songs chart run and I looked up and I saw how really Mcfly arnt that sucessfull as people think they are. Example.

There last song got to #1 but this is it's chart run:

Oh yeah, McFly are known for only having a few weeks on the chart after a #1 single. ^_^

But that's the same for pretty much all fanbase acts.... It's not the slightest bit unusual.

the danger with boy bands is that their core buyers are young and teenage girls and these notoriously fickle buyers eventually grow up and move on, they will need great songs to appeal to people over the age of 16 otherwise they are heading for tank town

That's happened with most of their singles, the fanbase go out in the first week and get it to a high position - then no else is interested and it falls quickly. It happens all the time :D

Yer so they end up with a high peak but dont really get that high sales overall

and they seem to have consistently get the lowest number 1 sales too.

they would probably have done better in the late 90s (tho i despise them). pop music isn't in anymore and people now have a more grown up taste in music.

no wonder! as the feelings last single (fill) is still in the airplay top 40 with mcfly no where to be found. so no wonder that tune rather than mcfly is hanging about
