Posted March 8, 201510 yr In your personal charts, have you for example, kept off a song from #1 for ages despite loving both and considered it would've been a #1 under different circumstances? Or perhaps a #1 in your chart didn't spend as long at #1 as you thought? Some examples in my chart: Currently LarsM's Lovers has spent 6 chart weeks at #1 (3 actual weeks) while Something New (Robin Schulz Remix) spent 4 chart weeks at #1 before falling to #2 for currently 6 chart weeks and may have spent 10 chart weeks at #1 if not for LarsM  I also feel that this track should've spent more than only 4 chart weeks at #1 hence other tracks have spent longer there, such as Thank You, Outside, Heroes and The Nights and I consider I like this track more than these four tracks  Has there been an unlucky run for a song in anyone else's charts?
March 8, 201510 yr this year Tchami - Promesses spent 3 consecutive weeks at #2 behind the same song (Sandy Rivera feat. April - BANG!), was quite unlucky as I was seriously loving both songs. Alex Adair was looking the same way with 2 weeks at #2 but has now also had 2 weeks at #1. then of course last year Route 94 was so so unlucky to run into Waves, meaning it spent 5 weeks at #2.
March 8, 201510 yr Lily Allen's Somewhere Only We Know spent 4 weeks at #2, all of which were behind Hard Out Here, so she kept herself off #1  Both tracks were worthy of #1 but Hard Out Here couldn't be toppled. Just this week, I had an all-new top 4, all of which were worthy of #1 - damn Conor Maynard/Ulrik Munther/Carly Rae Jepsen/Cody Simpson for all releasing on the same week :drama:
March 8, 201510 yr Let Go For Tonight got blocked off 3 times from #1 by Clarity last year and I'm A Ruin this year got blocked out by Love Me Like You Do for 2 weeks.
March 9, 201510 yr Author Cash Cash and Bebe Rexha 'Take Me Home' spent 5 months at #2 :( Wow. Also forgot to mention, Ariana Grande One Last Time was a really unlucky #3, as it has debuted at #4 in the same week that I discovered a load of LarsM tracks  but it managed to get past one of them to #3 for 2 chart weeks, however the top 2 that week were 'high selling' therefore it would quite easily have been #1, perhaps for a few weeks under different circumstances :drama:
January 25, 20169 yr "Pumped Up Kicks" not reaching number one peaking at number two, it is the third biggest hit on my chart ever! Also, "Jar Of Hearts" did not reach the top spot spending eight weeks in the top 5 not reaching higher than no.4 :o It is the thirty-second biggest hit on my chart and was still charting when I stopped doing my chart in 2013!
January 27, 20169 yr Ellie was blocked from #1 by "Same Old Love", spending four weeks at the #2 spot.
January 27, 20169 yr since last time, Shaun Frank & KSHMR 'Heaven' spent 4 weeks at #2 for me. 3 of those were behind Sigala 'Sweet Lovin' but the other was behind Avicii 'City Lights' (in hindsight 'Heaven' should've been #1 over that)
February 13, 20169 yr 7 Years has spent 5 weeks at number one for me but I think I might look at it as overrated soon~
February 13, 20169 yr Author Poor Secret Love Song denied #1 for nearly 2 weeks due to the Faded slayage on mi chart :(
September 14, 20168 yr I've had a lot of long running #2s in my chart recently, mostly behind long running #1s. SeeB 'Breathe' set a new record with 6 weeks at #2. Then Croatia Squad & Lika Morgan 'Make Your Move' spent 5 weeks at #2, and an additional 5 weeks at #3. Followed by Tobtok 'Aber' spending 5 weeks at #2.
May 21, 20178 yr I think my chart at the moment is an injustice, the Eurovision overload has pretty much halted the progression of songs that not long ago could easily have been Top 10. Those songs that do reach the Top 10 have also had their runs cut down to 5/6 weeks instead of 7/8. Especially injust since Elina Born spent 2 weeks at #1 earlier in the year where I doubt it would have been there at all at any other week of the year.
May 21, 20178 yr Mine is a lot like that at the moment! There's so much new music that it's hard to keep on top of it all, and the big hits from a few weeks ago are suffering huge drops. Other examples would be Tom Odell's Another Love stalling at #3, despite the fact it eventually outlasted the two songs that beat it to #1 by a long time  a more recent example of this is Katy Perry's Chained to the Rhythm blocking Anne-Marie's Ciao Adios. The latter is now the longest runner in my current top 40 while the former dropped out a few weeks ago!
May 21, 20178 yr 'You Don't Know Me' by Jax Jones not going to #1 in my chart. It's now spent 20 weeks in my top five but only peaked at #2, but the song that stopped it going to #1 has long gone from the top 40. To be fair to 'Unbreakable' by Aly & Fila though, it did spend 9 weeks in the top 5 including 4 at #1, and for all those 9 weeks it was ahead of Jax. It just dropped off very quickly from the top 10 whilst Jax has had amazingly impressive longevity.
