Last Lynx - Curtains

 

 

So this is my debut entry, a gorgeous (if I say so myself!) indie-pop track! Last Lynx are from Stockholm, Sweden so hopefully they'll do for me how well Sweden usually fare in Eurovision! But yes, this triumphed over my other potential, an absolutely dreamy song that Jadakissnia are proud to present to you all.

With a peak of 4th place at one point following a slow start, 'Curtains' managed to eventually settle for 13th place with a points total of 226! Some would call this number unlucky, but for such a large contest, a top 15 placing was a really pleasing result, particularly for a debut.

 

We received two 18's (from Persephonia and Desbuanda) in the end, and our own 18, Persephonia managed to triumph and win the whole contest! Overall it had been a brilliant experience, and we're chuffed to have the title of highest debut entry for this month. Finally, the silver trophy to take home was the fact we were the joint-2nd most voted for country, tying with none other than Persephonia!

I actually did know this! A song featuring him came on plug.dj a couple of months ago, I think that's why Bray coined the nickname Jadakiss for me. :lol: Totally missed a trick not having him as my head of state! ;)

BJSC 75 ('Perseventyfive')

ONUKA - Time

 

 

We are proud to present our second entry to BJSC! Not to be confused with Onika Maraj (for any lurking April's!), ONUKA is a project created by Ukrainian electronic musicians Eugene Filatov and Nata, former vocalist of Tomato Jaws (Ukraine) and KOOQLA (Russia). The poignant line in this track is "happiness that we have is so elusive" and is initially what drew me to it in the first place. The distinctive vocals coupled with beautiful production values had me completely sold, this track just builds and builds until the utterly atmospheric final couple of minutes. The visuals are also stunning, which very much helps. We hope that other participating nations will appreciate this track in all of its glorious (almost) six minutes as much as we do!
