April 30, 20178 yr Author BJSC Japan vs. South Korea Results Last night we were in attendance at the 'Japan vs. South Korea' results in Cadelicia, hoping for good things with the hype behind our whacky Japanese entry. We sent 'Daydream' by BPM15Q (which we later found out is actually called 'Hakutyumu' as 'Daydream' is a literal translation, damn you YouTube comments and it being called 'Daydream' in PJSC :kink: but anyway, it was called 'Daydream' for this contest~) and thankfully DID live up to the hype, as we finished in 3rd place with 87 points! This swiftly follows the 3rd place that we received in BJSC 94 for 'Waqqaberry', so April 2017 is clearly all about the bronze medal for Jadakissnia. This is our fourth spinoff top 5 (that is actually counted by the mods #justiceforAgnes) to date following wins for Lasgo (00s Dance) and SOLDOUT (Worldvision) and 5th place for Glasvegas (Christmas). It is our sixth spinoff top 10 to date also as Unison came 7th (Halloween) and Tame Impala 8th (Masquerade). Tame Impala's top 10 finish was earlier in the year so this is now our second spinoff top 10 in 2017. We got two 12s this time from Cadelicia (the hosts!) and Land of DW (the winners!) which was pretty cool. We also received a silver medal from Unovia and a bronze from Deandria. As briefly aforementioned, Land of DW took the crown in this spinoff with their wonderful instrumental entry 'Sui-Ren' by Kagura, which we very much approved of after giving it 10 points. Hooray for that medal-position swap between us and the people of Land of DW. Our favourite entry this time round was courtesy of Terra Avium who sent the beautiful 'sympathizer' by films. We knew and loved films' previous song that was sent to Unknown Pleasures so we were pleased that this was also very strong. This finished in 7th place with 76 points. Our bronze medal this time went to Deandria, which meant that a bronze medal swap occurred between us! They sent the epic 'Lost Sanctuary' by Ferri which finished 4th just behind us with 87 points, losing out on a tie-break. So it was a great night for our absolute favourites with all of them finishing in the top 10! Thanks to the following for voting for us: Unovia, Trifoski, Terra Avium, Alteria, Séyetana, Republic of Adonia, Cadelicia, Cor Lupus, Quintessa, Daehun, Persephonia, Deandria, Flynnonda, Hushkanukia, Lotunia & Land of DW
April 30, 20178 yr Author Omfg underperformance tbf as everyone predicted ye to win!! Well when you put it like that... flop of t century, time to recalibrate my sound. I think it was mostly me and Cadelicia (3rd and 2nd) being touted as contenders, Land of DW pulling off that shock win *.*
May 7, 20178 yr Author BJSC 95 Hugar - 'Waves (feat. Arnór Dan)' QmHknr66WBw We have shifted from the energetic trap vibes of last contest to a far more chilled approach for BJSC 95. Hugar are a duo from Iceland that comprises of Bergur Þórisson & Pétur Jónsson. They have collaborated with fellow Icelandic artist Arnór Dan who provides the vocals for 'Waves'. This is his second appearance in BJSC as a featured artist, following Caerfyrddia top 5 entry 'So Close' with Ólafur Arnalds. 'Waves' is a stunning collaboration between these artists. Arnór Dan's gentle vocals perfectly match up with the largely piano-led production. It is 3 and a half minutes of pure bliss as the song builds - the production ramps up when the second chorus comes in and Arnór Dan delivers a stunning falsetto towards the end, which is my favourite part of the song. The music video is also very visually pleasing and calming. This was instantly lovely but properly hit me on the third listen so I hope its growing power works its magic on the BJSC masses also. Please show us some support in the semi-final voting, we have been drawn in slot 6 of semi 2.
May 7, 20178 yr 'So Close' is one of my all-time BJSC faves so nice to see Arnór Dan returning  Lovely song that I think will only get better with more listens. x I do love the video as well!
May 8, 20178 yr Author 'So Close' is one of my all-time BJSC faves so nice to see Arnór Dan returning  Lovely song that I think will only get better with more listens. x I do love the video as well! I'm so pleased that you introduced me to 'So Close' a little while back, that is stunning  glad you're liking 'Waves' too! It really is one that got more impactful with further listens for me, so I do hope that is the case for you too. Woo, such a pretty vid
May 12, 20178 yr Author Hugar and Arnór Dan qualify for the BJSC 95 final! It was very recently announced in Trifoski (in swish country flag colour scheme fashion) that Jadakissnia are THROUGH to the BJSC 95 final with 'Waves' by Hugar featuring Arnór Dan! We are delighted that semi 2 voters were here for our beautiful number from Iceland. This is our 18th qualifier to date out of a possible 22 and our streak is now back up to 3. Muchas gracias to all of those who voted for us, see ya in the final! 2015 was a dark time when we frequently had a curse put on our 12 pointer... then early last year this changed to our 10 pointers that kept dropping like flies. Sadly, the 10 point curse was back in full force as our second favourite of semi 2 took the blow of DNQing. Summericia were back on form for us this month with a song that hit us in the feels - this was 'Illusion' by VNV Nation. They were close to making it in a frustrating 21st place with 41 points. Our 2 pointer 'Monday' by Torul, sent by Niceland, also finished with 41 points in the semi. It was a shame to see this one go as our favourite entry from the nation to date. Cadelicia was then our 1 point and this DNQ was a bit of a shock! They finished as low as 26th (with 34 points) with Turkish banger 'Cevapsız Çınlama' by Emrah Karaduman feat. Aleyna Tilki.
May 21, 20178 yr Author BJSC 95 Results Hugar - Waves (feat. Arnór Dan) http://i.imgur.com/cyLRGK6.jpg Tonight our BJSC 95 fate was revealed in a tense results presentation in Trifoski. After much yo-yoing up and down the board to begin with (we peaked in the top 10 at one point!), we eventually finished in 22nd place with 183 points. We will take this as we enjoy the fact that our 22nd entry came 22nd #easilypleased, also it is a unique position! This is our fourth 21-30 region finish after JJ's 'All White Everything' in BJSC 79 (26th), Perturbator's 'Sentient' featuring Hayley Stewart in BJSC 84 (25th) and earlier in the year with fellow Icelandic act aYia's 'Ruins' (21st). We also finished in 9th place in semi 2 with 77 points, which is our second best semi result of the year! We were particularly pleased at the medal positions haul this time round in the final, as we received an 18 from Suedeonia, a 15 from Rolloland and 13s from East Rukahavian and Lotunia! The winner this time round was the nation that gave us our sole 18 this time, that's right, Suedeonia scooped a debut win! Their song was 'Don't Take The Money' by Bleachers (with additional vocals from queen Lorde *.*) which amassed 339 points. We didn't quite vote for the song (it settled for a commiseration) but we appreciate new blood in the field of winners! Our own favourite this time came courtesy of Espen with commanding witchy song 'Ecstasy (MYSTXRIVL x SOKOS FLIP)' by ATB. This finished in 11th place, which is the second time an 18 of ours has finished in 11th place this year, after Fakear's 'Ankara' sent by Deandria. Espen join the small club of nations to receive 2 18s from us. Our 15 came from Terra Avium with a fellow stand out spoopy song in the form of 'a new family' by felicia ~ this sadly had to settle for a bottom 10 placing in 33rd. U wot BJSC voters. Our bronze this time was the v chilled out 'Tides' by Nu:Tone featuring Lea Lea from Aelandor. This ALSO had to settle for a bottom 10 position in 37th :( Wtf BJSC masses sleeping on that one. Thanks to the following for giving us points this month: Persephonia, Hushkanukia, Flynnonda, Avalonia, Summericia, East Rukahavian, Terra Avium, Quintessa, Lotunia, Kylienips, Fljótavík, N DNTN, Rolloland, Suedeonia, Aeroche, Harmonica, FARC, Yehesi, Land of DW, Séyetana, -pi, Oslol, Aelandor, Herzebania & Trifoski  2017 streak update: 12-xx-21-03-22 POINTS GIVEN/RECEIVED TOP 10s: GIVEN 01) 212 Persephonia 02) 120 Terra Avium 03) 115 Trifoski 04) 97 Singerpurear 05) 95 N DNTN 06) 76 Espen 07) 70 #00274E 08) 69 Séyetana 09) 68 Bøtanikkä 10) 67 -π RECEIVED 01) 200 Persephonia 02) 156 Terra Avium 03) 128 Espen 04) 106 Kylienips 05) 105 Aeroche 06) 105 Quintessa 07) 104 Suedeonia 08) 103 Deandria 09) 94 Ethanola 10) 93 Fljótavík --- Jadakissnia finalists ONUKA perform at the Eurovision 2017 final! p6J4tyAB_5o Last weekend we witnessed some IMPAKT from one of our very own. We entered Ukrainian act ONUKA back in BJSC 75 with 'Time'; that was our first top 10 in BJSC as it finished in 9th place. This year ONUKA (featuring the NAONI Orchestra) got the big gig of being the interval act in Kyiv for this year's Eurovision Song Contest final, watched by millions around the world! We could've not been more proud to witness this live megamix performance, heavily featuring 'Vidlik' - which managed to chart in the UK iTunes top 200 off the back of it! On top of this, our very own entry 'Time' also appeared in the top 1500 on there as well! G'won ONUKA, you did Ukraine proud. http://i.imgur.com/aB8nL4U.png OMG, THIS!!
May 21, 20178 yr Author ONUKA must be a future Eurovision entry for Ukraine tbh *.* YES, so impressive live . The holy trinity of Verka, Jamala and ONUKA would be a force to be reckoned with *.*
May 24, 20178 yr Author BJSC Schlagerfest VIAN - Gå Der Vinden Blåser KzyXLP2a6-c 'BJSC presenterar Schlagerfest' is now underway in Néú Oslo! We are one of three nations who have gone down the Norwegian route for this spinoff (as well as Lotunia and Quintessa) with the wonderful 'Gå Der Vinden Blåser' by VIAN. This is not quite an all out Scandipop banger (a la our BJ10 winner 'Release Me' by Agnes) but it is a gorgeous song with a gripping build up. It starts off slow but then soaring vocals kick in after the second chorus and from then on it really throws everything at you. VIAN are a four-piece group who have sadly been drawn in the death slot (2nd), despite this, let's not let it flop - all support is appreciated!
May 27, 20178 yr OH NO (am I going to be the only one of the #BJSC74Clique to not make it to the BJFest Final)
May 27, 20178 yr Author OH NO (am I going to be the only one of the #BJSC74Clique to not make it to the BJFest Final) Have you heard Flynnonda's entry then? ;o hyped to see what you come up with anyway x ! OMG I know what this is *.* iconic tune (and show). Omg yasss! The show it's from was one of my fave cartoons as a kid, I even paid homage to it for my last day of sixth form by dressing up as one of the characters *.* slay me with this hype.
June 7, 20178 yr Author Harry already qualified for BJFest last time Oh yeah good point :kink: 'Aaliyah' was fab after it initially took me a little while to get used to *.* ~~~ BJSC Schlagerfest Results VIAN - Gå Der Vinden Blåser http://i.imgur.com/dRCFe3i.jpg Results for the latest spinoff 'BJSC presenterar Schlagerfest' were revealed tonight! We are happy to report that our Norwegian entry 'Gå Der Vinden Blåser' by VIAN finished in 9th place with 66 points! This is a LOT higher than we expected it to finish, as we thought it would almost solely attract tiny points. We were very wrong as we received a handful of medal positions! We got 3 12s from Beaverdonia, Hushkanukia and Persephonia, a 10 from Lotunia and 8 from Terra Avium. <3 This is now our 3rd spinoff top 10 of the year, following Tame Impala's 8th place and BPM15Q's 3rd place. The winner tonight was 'Messed Up' by Death Team, sent by St. Burbia! This is a debut spinoff win for the nation and we are pleased as we gave 'Messed Up' 8 points! Ahead of it, we were loyal to Iceland as we gave 12 points to Persephonia's 'Hearts' by Young Karin. Contrary to popular #blocvoting belief, this is only the second time we have ever swapped top points with Persephonia! This follows A-WA - 'Habib Galbi' and Last Lynx - 'Curtains' in BJSC 74. 'Hearts' finished in 15th tonight. Our 10 points then went to Quintessa, who also sent a song from Norway with Susanne Sundfør's 'Kamikaze'. They smashed it in 2nd place, just 1 point behind St. Burbia! So a wonderful result for our favourites tonight. Thank you to the following who voted for us: FSR Rontvia, St. Burbia, Hushkanukia, Terra Avium, Lotunia, Quintessa, Beaverdonia, Persephonia and Medhelnia  Buzzjackfestivalen V Chip Skylark - 'My Shiny Teeth And Me' 0BVwxMIUK1o Our entry for Buzzjackfestivalen this year was revealed as 'My Shiny Teeth And Me' by Chip Skylark! After we went serious and spooky with 'Spook' by Denvish last time and flopped, we decided to go for a more FUN novelty route this time with a banger from cartoon show Fairly Odd Parents. Chris Kirkpatrick, *NSYNC member, is the voice behind Chip and has brought us an infectiously catchy song all about his character's pearly whites. This song really stuck with me over the years from the show and we hope you guys enjoy! We are in heat 2 in Daehun and will find out our fate tomorrow.
June 7, 20178 yr Yass for us doing another top points swap at last xx feels good to properly turn the bloc voting on sometimes. :D (Seriously though 'Gå Der Vinden Blåser' was suuuch a standout in that bunch of songs, really lovely track which could have been a good main contest entry  did a bit better than I thought it would hooray). Obvz so here for Chip Skylark as well. x
