June 25, 20159 yr it'll have to be re-named to Friday Chart Predictions :magic: good to see we're still getting something chart-related on a Sunday afternoon, I'll tune in and see what that's about anyhow and we should definitely have a discussion thread for it. so I imagine these are the kind of #1s we'll be hearing then if it was on last week: Official #1, Urban #1: Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me Sales #1, Downloads #1: Deorro x Chris Brown - Five More Hours Streaming #1: Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) Albums #1: Muse - Drones (wouldn't be surprised if R1 played a track from the #1 album if the act is R1 friendly) Dance #1: Major Lazer - Lean On R&B #1: Fetty Wap - Trap Queen Rock & Metal #1: Fall Out Boy - Uma Thurman it's not enough to fill a whole hour though.
June 25, 20159 yr The thing they're filling the Sunday slot with - that Cel Spellman thing - sounds absolutely diabolical. Smacks of JK & Joel 10 years ago all over again.
June 25, 20159 yr I think it sounds really quite interesting! I'll tune in for the first week at least to see if it's as good as it sounds to me.
June 26, 20159 yr The BBC Radio 1 schedule for 5th July, the last chart day. www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/programmes/schedules/2015/07/05

June 27, 20159 yr What was the exact chart date of the first Sunday chart show, anyone know? 4th October 1987
June 27, 20159 yr Who is Cell Spellman and why am I so old? CBBC presenter who currently does The Chart Show on CBBC Sundays 6-7. And he also makes appearances on the R1 chart show talking to Clara.
June 27, 20159 yr 4th October 1987That was when the chart reveal day switched from a Tuesday to a Sunday but the chart show on a Sunday goes back much further than that. The first proper Sunday chart show (Pick Of The Pops) was broadcast on the BBC Light Programme (which became Radio 2 in 1967) on 7 January 1962. POTP had previously been broadcast on a Saturday since 29 March 1958. POTP moved to 5pm to 7pm on Sundays on Radio 1 on 1 October 1967 which was the second day that the station was on air. On 24 September 1972 POTP ended and the chart show was rebranded from the following Sunday. From 1 October 1972 to 5 November 1978 the chart show was a top 20 broadcast at 6pm to 7pm, this extended to a Top 40 on 12 November 1978, broadcast for many years at 5pm to 7pm.
June 27, 20159 yr Why does the BBC think there is a link between Radio One Listeners and CBBC? Films and computer games make really good radio!!!!
June 28, 20159 yr Having the chart at the start of the weekend, rather than at the fag end of the weekend, sounds like a good idea to me. I'll probably give it a quick check out, but tbh I don't follow the charts much any more. I suspect the album chart will be on the same day as the singles chart. But I think that would be a shame, as having it on a different day, I would have thought, would be good idea.
June 28, 20159 yr Why does the BBC think there is a link between Radio One Listeners and CBBC? They are losing listeners so fast that they need to get the next generation listening now. It makes perfect sense.
June 28, 20159 yr The thing they're filling the Sunday slot with - that Cel Spellman thing - sounds absolutely diabolical. Smacks of JK & Joel 10 years ago all over again. Better call Saul.

June 28, 20159 yr The two hours includes a fifteen minute NEWSBEAT :basil: Shows much they care. I don't see why they don't give it to Radio 2 blah blah blah.
June 29, 20159 yr Just to clarify - next Sunday will be the last Sunday chart show, from then on it will be on Friday?
June 29, 20159 yr That's right! The first Friday chart is going to be made up of just 5 days of sales.
June 29, 20159 yr Just to clarify - next Sunday will be the last Sunday chart show, from then on it will be on Friday? Also that will be the first chart with the week ending 16th July (Thursday) instead of the usual Saturday date. Which reminds me need to sort my own database to accommodate for the change
