March 27, 201510 yr Author Chart HighlightsIn its 12th week on top, "Uptown Funk!" becomes only the 15th hit to spend that many weeks at #1 in Hot 100 history. It also ties Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" for the longest tenure on top this decade. The song likewise spends a 12th week atop Digital Songs, having sold nearly 5,000,000 copies thus far.Flo Rida earns his 10th top-10 hit with "G.D.F.R.", becoming the 15th rapper to do so. With the climb, rapper Sage the Gemini and producer Lookas also earn their first top-10s. The song passes 1,000,000 sales this week.Meghan Trainor's latest single "Dear Future Husband" re-enters at #47 following the release of its video. Prior to its single release, the song sold well as an album track; it has been certified gold and spends its 10th week on the Hot 100.Kendrick Lamar debuts 6 songs on the Hot 100 from To Pimp a Butterfly, led by "King Kunta" at #61. We also see the notable return of funk legend George Clinton, who is featured on Kendrick's "Wesley's Theory" at #91. Clinton charted 14 hits with his bands Parliament, Funkadelic, and Parliament-Funkadelic from 1969-96, and made one previous solo entry as a featured artist on Ice Cube's "Bop Nation", which peaked at #23 in 1994. March 28, 201510 yr Yeah I was really surprised by 'Talking Body' - I kinda thought Tove would disappear pretty much instantly once it was clear 'Not On Drugs' wasn't gaining traction. But I'm happy to see it doing well and I hope it does a lot more. AlunaGeorge remix bubbling under? Weird but I hope it goes Hot 100.
March 28, 201510 yr Author It's been getting some pop airplay, though I think it's being treated as DJ Snake's follow-up to "Turn Down for What" rather than a breakout for AlunaGeorge. It would be cool to see AG chart regardless.
March 28, 201510 yr All those Kendrick debuts  Uptown Funk still looks pretty much untouchable. Without some sort of belated sales boost, Maroon 5 look out of the race almost. The Weeknd actually looks the best chance to go #1 next with the airplay gains he's getting.
March 28, 201510 yr Ouch at Ghost 44-x. I do think Ella hasn't performed that well in America despite her incredible promotion tbh!
March 28, 201510 yr 21 15 Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance SLAYYYYY   :yahoo:  :cheer: :w00t:
March 28, 201510 yr Ouch at Ghost 44-x. I do think Ella hasn't performed that well in America despite her incredible promotion tbh! It's only really dropped out of the top 50 on billboard. I remember thinking a few weeks back about Break Free diving from 42-x but I was corrected that songs drop out of the top 100 once they've dropped out of the top 50 or something like that :P It would explain why Anaconda, Trumpets and even Fancy all dropped out of the charts at around the same place as Ghost. March 28, 201510 yr It's only really dropped out of the top 50 on billboard. Exactly, because songs with more than 20 chart weeks are not allowed in the lower half of the Hot 100.
March 28, 201510 yr Uptown Funk's reign is incredible, it should be #1 for another few weeks. Anyone have the Albums chart?
March 28, 201510 yr Nice to see 'Talking Body' climbing into the top 40 and securing another hit for her :D It's just reached a new peak on iTunes and is steadily climbing on radio so it's not over yet!
March 28, 201510 yr What do we think to the chances of Uptown Funk matching/beating One Sweet Day's record?
March 28, 201510 yr What do we think to the chances of Uptown Funk matching/beating One Sweet Day's record? I'd say highly likely unless new Rihanna material exceeds expectations...
March 28, 201510 yr I'd say highly likely unless new Rihanna material exceeds expectations... Bitch Better Have My Money seems very unlikely to go to #1 so I'd say Uptown Funk is likely to break the #1 weeks record (deservedly so too, One Sweet Day is very boring)
March 28, 201510 yr Author The Rihanna track doesn't seem like something that pop radio would jump at the chance to play. It might become something like "Drunk in Love"/"Anaconda" and get to the upper reaches of the Hot 100 on strong sales/streams but airplay won't push it to #1.
