So i remember hearing this and thinking it was pretty bland at first but it really grew on me in time for voting and although the amount of points I gave it isn't much in the grand scheme of things, it was a really good pick. I also found it funny that I gave his more points than SVË who was John's potential at the time #oops. Next is Don Diablo and I've raged about that a lot last year. I wanna see more of dancey Yehesi but this "spirit of Aprogonia" vibe Tim's been giving off as of late is really giving me life. As for the rest of the songs I did point, I can echo the same thing I said about Jerome Price when talking about EVVY, "Fools Paradise" was an amazing trap song, and well... I've always loved Perfume so that was a no-brainer when it came to points. Spoiler alert: Oliver wins that round.

For songs that were around before my debut, I was kinda excited to hear CeCe Frey's new output back around October of 2014, so when I saw that it was already sent I kinda screamed inside. Good pick, Liam. And once again one of the pre-74 D'yermak'er hits. I think this might be one of my faves from you (next to "Feels" at least), so send stuff like this and I'll definitely be on the side of the Mak'er.

So SchulKid I ended up voting for in Rejects and it's among my favorite Lotti entries to date (one more song on this countdown and "So You Think You Can F*ck With Me Do Ya" edge it out by a bit), Kesh You was just a strike of genius and I didn't have enough space to vote it in TBO. I think I did nominate Sandra Lyng in TBO though. Probably one of the best Tinnmark entries as of late.

Speaking of songs that grew on me after the contest, hi JOYRYDE. Luckily there have been more times that I've given Vülkyria points so it's all good.

I also teased that another Perfume was in this countdown and the ever so ethereal "Spending All My Time" lands a spot here. This was probably the first true #CadeLupus point swap, the second being in 83.

We see a song that got a medal position and the second of the UVLand entries, Bea Miller Kinnie Lane with "Je te suivrai".

Other highlights in terms of qualifiers include AQ Harper with "White Lies", the first Mulgracia song on this list, Anne-Marie's "Karate" (the only time I've pointed Thelonia in the final), Northbrook's "On A Train", MisterWives' "Our Own House" and nightcore classic "HEARTSKIP" by Matty B PONIBBI. I feel that I should note that there is a daycore song in this month's final. If anyone doesn't know what that is, daycore slows the track down rather than speeds it up like nightcore.

As for DNQ's we see another victim of Varakë racism in Friction's "Freak", and a prelude to Ethanola's impressive run of form this year, Jay Hardway's "Electric Elephants".

Tons of pop and at the same time tons of BJSC 80 tracks. First off we have the first Aprogonia track here :) Pretty strong debut, and when this slipped ahead of me, j was thinking that I would be done in BJSC. Well yeah. We also have Bonnie Anderson who may seem a bit cheap on hindsight but hey it's a good song.

Then we have a flurry of BJSC 80 tracks. It was one of my least favorite contests from experience but DAMN did it have some good songs. We have the weird and cool "Trance And Acid" from Kai Tracid, Tamta's "Unloved" which also uses the "sassy female anthem" trope, and Delta Heavy's "Ghost" which has one of the best videos to date. We also have another Mulgracia track in Project 46's "Take Away The Pain" and Pupok's highest entry here, Phantogram's "Black Out Days".

In terms of contests I wasn't a part of, I got introduced to "Mine" through Radio Disney and that became an instant fave, while BØRNS ended up charting briefly in the US, which got me to nominate it in TBO.

The. We have Jai Wolf. I will say that I never really paid attention to the track during the contest because it was a bit too slow for my tastes, but after a recommendation on Kostas Garcia's channel, I listened to it a bit and it grew on me enough to land on this spot.

I am so thankful to finally share this with the world as I think it's an amazing remix. The first remix here comes from the Robert DeLong remix of JR JR's amazing alternative smash "Gone". The original has been featured on the trailer for the upcoming animated movie Sausage Party starring Seth Rogen. However, the remix adds a little bit more life into the song, complete with the original's wistful whistling, an almost tropical instrumental, and just about everything else needed for that perfect vacation song. If you're looking for a dance song you can add to all your family videos, then this song is for you.

Well we got vetoed so either this is gonna go badly or this is gonna lead to Rain Man levels of slayage. Either way it's gonna add to our inconsistent run of form as of late. So let's do this.

Bagging Another Top 15!

 

We began to lower expectations for the final and considered a top 15 position as a comeback, and hey ho, we got 12th, which surpasses all expectations of how we were gonna do, and we're thankful that the voters pulled through for us. Thank you all, we have truly #RedefinedComeback.

 

We'll be seeing you guys in Beaverdonia in 86 where our three options are:

• Recreating that July punk rock miracle New Politics started

• sending pop after what seemed like FOREVER

• sending our first foreign language entry, en ESPAÑOL

Kicking things off here at #70 we have former Big Time Rush star Katelyn Tarver with a remix of Weekend Millionaires. I had a period of stanning for her after I listened to this again and discovered "You", and this was all while I found out she was in Big Time Rush. We see a medal position (this time a silver) in Audien's "Insomnia" (which should have been in his EP), and two more Mulgracia entries in the Prince-sampling "I Wanna Be Your Love" (RIP) and James' winner, "Fuel To The Fire" by Rationale.

 

Two Ryan tracks are in here as well in "Cool Enough" which I pointed in TBO and "Feeling Your Love (LaaDeeDaa)" which I did point in its contest. I feel that all the semi 2 stuff really got to me in 78 simply because I was hosting it and I just couldn't stop listening to that playlist. Speaking of feel good summer songs, we got Ferreck Dawn sampling another Keyshia Cole song that I really liked in 2008, sent by Ethanola, and the AronChupa reject in Badpojken sent by Dobago. Dobbo has sent three tracks that eclipse this by far, as has Ethan. We also have an appearance by Thelonia, who have recently resorted to the usual "let's send another artist featured in Pete Tong" strategy as of late which is usually hit or miss. And yeah, the new Wild Belle song is boring af, but I'll mention that when we get to the mid-year thingy.

 

I vaguely remember considering "Overload" as a debut potential but eventually scrapped it because I wasn't getting into it enough. So in the end this got my 12 in the semi and landed in my top 10 for the final. By no means a Cadelicia moment but it would have been nice to do well in my debut. (Yup still not bitter about Brielle)
