So it looks like, aside from the two banned countries, we've lost New Lexico, Patvia, Skall (:snif:) and Utopia (after two straight top 10s? ;o) from last month? RIP

utopia and skall. Oh shit there go my 24 points.

Lucky i am landsliding with more than 24 pts between me and 2nd place so its all good hens

A distinct lack of time and anything worth sending this month, everything I love most at the moment is either uninspired/veto-worthy or not something I'd send to BJSC...
Gone with the latter option myself, considering I really thought last month's song was exactly everything that Numayania stood for and it came second last  :(
What's the point of having a Veto framework if y'all aren't going to follow it and veto absolytely everything even if they score >10 points?

What are you talking about? The mods are very strict with the vetoes! :o

But they SAY they use a framework thet put each song against.

So hoe does this song get a veto?

16 million YouTube views and it being a big talking point when it was released probably is enough of a reason for that to get vetoed tbh

A big talking point WHERE??

I haven't seen it mentioned once here and the franework says nothung about youtube views, else the entries with 100 million+ views wouldn't get through.

And nearly every song charts low somewhere.

It just doesn't measure up against the framework.

Each little veto point gets added up to a total and if it reaches the maximum veto points it gets vetoed. All the little things like charting on the Hot 100, even charting on too many Personal Charts (which buggered up my fab entry :( ) all add up...

Michael here is the breakdown

Alison Gold - Chinese Food 19

-Song peaked at #29 on Billboard Hot 100 in October 2013 7

-Song has a thread on Buzzjack with 11 responses

-Featured on justjaredjr, billboard, metro, dailymail, yahoo, mtv, huffingtonpost, stereogum, eonline, telegraph, digitalspy, idolator, hollywoodlife, ryanseacrest, dailystar, newnownext, spin...basically HIGH BLOGS COVERAGE 12

But what's the point?

She's hardly Beyonce.

I can guarantee people aren't going to vote based on blog coverage.

It does measure against the veto framework. "Chinese Food" has charted in the US in the past 24 months, which means it qualified for the 7 points along with the insane media coverage on the song giving it an additional 12 points which brought it down.

I expect your other potential, Michael, My Jeans :kink: will have similar popularity and therefore probably also be vetoed.

Yeah the vetoes aren't always to everyone's liking, but the idea is to get the lesser known songs/artists in the competition to make it more fun and exiting!

Actually, the veto framework is vigorously followed and many things over 10 points are put through.

PS - people know things through blog coverage, so it is good that it attracts veto points.
