Newzoids is a new comedy spoof show, similar to Spitting Image, that takes a light-hearted take on current affairs using a mix of puppets and CGI. Those who are set to be spoofed are Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, David Cameron, Nick Clegg, Ed Milliband, Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson, Vladimir Putin, George Osborne, Ant & Dec, Brian Cox, Kim Kardashian, Wayne Rooney, Beyonce, Harry Styles, Paul Hollywood, Mary Berry, Katie Hopkins, Andy Murray, Russell Brand, Barack Obama, Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Capaldi and Prince Charles & Camilla as Gogglebox's Steph & Dom. Sketches include Cameron & Clegg on the Jeremy Kyle Show and Ed Milliband on I'm a Catastrophe...Get Me Out of Here!

It will feature the voices of Jon Culshaw and Debra Stephenson amongst others.

I'm really looking forward to this - it looks hilarious!
This reminds me of that Headcases thing they did a few years ago which I absolutely loved so I'll definitely be watching this, it's right up my street.

Closest as we are going to get to Spitting Image returning this. I'll definitely give this a watch.

Exact same for me- I adored headcases which is why I'm going to watch this

I thought that was mildly diverting. More enjoyable than I thought it would be. Needless to say I liked the Barlow one the best!
Sheeet, forgot this was on  Will ITV player it tomorrow maybe!
It was incredibly close to the knuckle at some points (especially one line in the Sun Sea and Suspicious Parents sketch), and showed no reverence towards anyone, which of course is what all good satire should do. It's no Spitting Image, or even a 2DTV, but it's better than Headcases and a lot of what passes for comedy on ITV these days. Will be interesting to see how the ratings/opinion of this goes down.

Yeh, it was alright. Nothing that truly stood out although there were some funny sketches, my favourite being the Ed Milliband, Jeremy Clarkson and Mrs Crowns Boys ones. There were quite a few misses though.

I thought the CGI lip syncing was a bit odd in places though. I'll hopefully be tuning in for the rest of the series but I can't see the ratings being strong.

Oh dear - this was kinda tragic.

Why spend lots on puppets and then animate their moving mouths. It all felt too slick.... would be much more entertaining if it was more rubbish looking.

As for the jokes - I think I got around 2 laughs out of the program.

Must admit - I found this a bit disconcerting! I do think its coming in for some unfair comparisons with Spitting Image (which itself was panned on its first series). Its horses for courses and this is the Spitting Image of our times - and its at least as good/bad as that was seen.

I was used to the puppets/CGI mix because it was used in another TV series recently, Strange Hill High (which despite being shown on CBBC was quite enjoyable - Richard Ayoade provides the voice of one of the characters). I actually think the two are made by the same production company, as the puppets seem to be quite similar (specifically the rods they use to control them).
I finally got round to watching this and I thought it was very hit and miss. Some of the sketches were brilliant, but some really missed the mark. Especially that ending Gary Barlow and The Queen rap thing.

loved the mrs browns boys sketch from the first episode. and the ant and dec one.

can't wait for more wednesday

I thought tonight's show was better than last week (but I liked last week's as well).

Paul Hollywood, Clarkson and the doctor from Embarrassing Bodies were the funniest for me.

I still haven't watched last week's but tonight was ok. I agree with April it was very hit and miss... They were spot on in some cases (Hopkins was hilarious!) but the only political sketch I found funny was Nicola Sturgeon on Take Me Out. Didn't find the Kate/Will or Camila/Charles sketches that funny either....

I thought the Hopkins voice was totally rubbish - but I liked the sketch. Some of the sketches did miss - but I'd still say this is at least on a part with Spitting Image in its early days (and I remember SI from its beginnings - before it went downhill).
