How can people not have heard any Major Lazer songs before? You're missing out guys!

I've been checking out the recommendations in this thread and it's all stuff that I'd usually turn my nose up at for being too bizarre but I'm actually liking them!

The instrumental part to 'Watch Out for This' does funny things to my ears with earphones in but it's still a pretty addictive song!

This is amazing. Could it go top 40?!

I know it's not huge in terms of impact but it went to #40 on the UK Dance Chart after only a few hours of promo from BGT so it is a possibility

This Wiz song is dreadful - I doubt it would be doing nearly so well if it wasn't for all the other factors surrounding it. I think it's the chorus that puts me off, so whiney.

 at all the people calling the Wiz Khalifa song average while lapping up that Ellie Goulding song - the very definition of 'average'!

See You Again is very relatable, and while not reinventing the wheel, accomplishes what it sets out too very well. Comes across as heartfelt and a fitting tribute to a much-loved actor. On the other hand, LMLYD comes across as too try-hard, with that painful falsetto especially.

Double standards from people I think? See You Again isn't the best song of the year, but will be a big anthem for lots of people I'd have thought.

I wouldn't call it double standards, surely it's just a matter of personal taste?

I do like 'See You Again' though, it's definitely relatable to a lot of people and I can see why it's doing so well.

A bit of a clearout inside the top 10, well needed.

I imagine streaming will stop Dr. Kucho! and Lethal Bizzle from going top 10 unfortunately, but at least we get massive climbs into the top 2 for Wiz and Omi and hopefully a climb for Kygo too

Mostly it is just personal taste, but I'm sure some people will just see its a rapper's song and instantly write it off without listening to it! Personal taste is totally acceptable and fine but does stop people being objective about stuff.

Although, its no surprise that any song associated with the 50 Shades film is as watered-down as the film

Hopefully Fiestoen takes off again on streaming as it seems to be stuck at 20 at the mo.

Though Cheerleader would have been further ahead of Nick considering the demand and the fact Jealous only sold around 40k downloads last week!

I knew we wouldn't go too long without the return of your patronising remarks.

I personally love the Ellie song and I like the Wiz Khalifa song so I'm speaking from an impartial viewpoint here. There's no need for it...

More personal taste than double standards. I find the rap monotonous and without emotion, and the sung vocals of a sub-Sam Smith quality, I do think they work well together (a rarity for a rap/sung combination for me), but just find the quality very low.

On my last poin there maybe if the sales are near 100k plus both are top of the spotify chart at the mo which will add another 20-25k onto the total so should be both breaking 100k and who knows even more with preorders factored in!

Was hardly meant as patronising, I'm just trying to be objective. There's plenty of well-produced anthemic pop songs, which I may not listen to, but I can appreciate the quality of them. However, the Ellie Goulding song is not one of them - Burn does that job better.

All this is my opinion of course and people can listen to what they want. I'm just observing what I see.
