I hate more of Ed's songs (Sing, Thinking Out Loud & I See Fire compared to only Stay With Me for Sam) but his first album was absolutely brilliant & full of tracks I really loved at the time so he definitely gets my vote (for the time being at least).

Sam has picked well from his album (other than SWM). All his other releases are the only tracks I liked, the rest is pretty dull. La La La remains the best thing either of them has done though so it's actually a pretty close call.

Ed Sheeran by a country mile. The mixture of Sam Smiths music and his "I'm so credible and full of myself"personality is too much for me. His voice is the equivalent to scratching nails down a blackboard.

It's like picking what your favourite is between a dog turn and bird poo.

For the record, I vote neither

Why are we even justifying this debate with an answer of our opinion?

Ed Sheeran. I think he's incredibly talented and comes across as a really lovely guy. Though his music is often slow, he seems to genuinely be having fun doing what he does. I find too many "stars" act like its a chore. He gets quite mediocre reviews but just carries on selling which I really like as sometimes reviewers seem so up their own backsides.

Whilst I don't mind Sam Smith, I find his album very whiny. And the story behind it is a little creepy.

I hated Ed Sheeran during his first album but bought his second... maybe the same will happen with Sam Smith. For now he's awful.

So I voted for Ed.

Ed Sheeran >>>>>>>>>>>> Sam Smith

The only "good" Smith song really was La La La :P

Oh I'm the first person to answer 'both the same' They're ok and I'd lean towards Sheeran on the basis of despising Sam Smith lately, but then I liked his album just that little bit more than either of Ed's, so I can't really make a definitive choice.
Ed is miles ahead for creating Don't so him

I assume you're talking of Lucy Pearl - Don't Mess With My Man? Or maybe Blackstreet -No Diggity?

To be fair, they're both great tracks. I like the way Ed's 'explodes' into the chorus though! Maybe not looking to be as smooth 😉

No! It's the one that's been preventing the #101's from entering the top 100 for the last 6 months

In that case I got lost in Ed Sheeran songs

Sam for me. Ed literally just annoys me and (Unpopular Opinion) I cannot stand his music.

Similar to me. Only time I can really listen to his voice is his feature on Christina Perri's track Be My Forever!
