Bills is ok for now (not in "I LOVE IT" way, I'd just not change the station if it came on) but I know I'm going to HATE it when it gets to #1 and hangs around the chart forever. And I do like some novelty records (for want of a better word), I still love Thrift Shop if that kind of counts.

I Know wasn't exactly a flop though - still went top 40 and has proven a very popular song. It was always gonna be difficult to repeat the fantastic success of Touch.

Talking of that, I don't think Touch had a pre-order conventionally climbing like most songs. Was just an EP that shocked everybody by rising to #3. For the record, I don't think Name and Number will miaa the top 40.

I'd argue that it was actually a flop, considering it got support from both Radio 1 and Capital as far as I remember (please correct me if I'm wrong). Touch was gonna be hard to match but #25 and two weeks top 40 isn't really great.

With regards to the second part, Name and Number doesn't have an EP in the top 1500 albums, if it has one at all. I'm fairly sure Touch's EP was doing well on pre-orders still, so I do think this will miss the top 40 (I mean, its single pre-order is doing worse than Luke Friend's did and he only just scraped it, plus you'd barely have to sell anything to get top 1500 on albums and he's still not there).

No I don't personally think it will stay around too long tbh  but it depends on who playlists it etc.

Well so far it has Radio 1, 2 and Capital :P

 110. Rihanna - American Oxygen

 195 - Power Music Workout - I'm An Albatraoz (Workout Mix)

I'm in shock, what on earth happened here to Rihanna (apart from the fact she released it half finished)

Bills making fantastic progress, would love to see it top 3 at least!

I'm pretty sure it'll be our next no1, sounds like an old Basement Jaxx hit.

Yeah, you make some good points here tbf. In my eyes, I Know was a more radio-friendly single than Touch and he had momentum after Touch's success. I don't think Touch stuck around that long either iirc.

It doesn't look promising for Name and Number, although the release has been pushed back two weeks to 17th May. It must be rare for a Capitals playlisted song not to chart at all though

'Bills' has fallen relatively quickly in Australia (79-21-9-5-1-1-3-5-8-11, compared to 'Thrift Shop' spending 3 months in the top 5) and surprisingly only made #10 on the AU streaming chart, and it seems to have never caught on in the US, so it might not stick around as long as expected. (Hopefully; I have the same 'I like it but will probably end up hating it' opinion as most :P)

This is what I wish the chart runs of really big hits would be tbh (i.e. a faster drop).

If the song gets played on the radio a lot it'll probably climb back up the charts and become a hit, if not then I think it'll just fall and hover around the lower parts of the top 1500 for a few months then disappear completely. It could also end up a hit if it's used on TV or in an advert or somehow ends up in a viral video.

I've just realised Wiz Khalifa is going to be my birthday #1 this year :D
