still can't believe Say Something is still in the chart, sounding good still but I don't listen to it outside the chart show much now

I can only echo what everyone else has said about the longevity for this! I was convinced it would be a really short-lived top 10 hit and end up quite forgotten but I'm loving how long it's stuck around for.

Looks like Conor made it in then! Oh wait... :basil:

Royalt(ies) to be given to Karen, Conor. :magic:

Ugh lay me down :puke2: :puke2:

Gosh can we have just one Sam smith free chart

"Mutes radio"

Really disappointed for Markus Feehily. He also missed the Irish top 40.

Biography

Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Album Discussion Here

I am bloody sick of this song!!!! It wasn't even good when it first came out!!!!

Really surprising longevity for this, I didn't think it would last this long, but I am very pleased. We haven't had a bad song yet.

CURSED. :(

ear rape~ :puke: :puke: :puke:

I am okay with this song now but still not his best at all :(

Again... muted TV :D

(Cue everyone complaining about Sam Smith still being in)

Look on the positive side, it only went up 2 places from the Chart Update, whereas last week it went up 8.

Gosh, who the fook streams Lay Me Down? Sam Smith has a beautiful voice, but please this song is really irritating :(

13 weeks in the top 40 is tremendous. :o I never would have pictured that at all. So deserved though.

So happy to see it's done so well - it was originally due to come out in Christmas week and I thought it was going to bomb.

disapointing to see Sam Smith still polluting the bottom half of the top 40 :puke:

*singing out loud*

Just found out it's not an album version playing now. Can't decide which version I prefer.

Biography

Born in 1977, Dan Stein, aka DJ Fresh, is one of the most influential figures on the U.K. drum'n'bass scene. Influenced by tapes brought back from illegal raves by older friends, he bought his first turntables in his teens, and while at university, started playing late-night sets on local pirate radio stations. In 1999, as part of the drum'n'bass collective Bad Company, he founded record label BC Recordings and the scene's most popular website, Dogs on Acid. After leaving to pursue a solo career, he remixed tracks for Pet Shop Boys, DJ Shadow, and Apollo 440, and founded the Breakbeat Punk label, which later merged with Adam F's Kaos Recordings to become Breakbeat Kaos. In 2006, he released his debut album, Escape from Planet Monday, and four years later, follow-up Kryptonite produced his first hit single, "Gold Dust," which reached number 24. Building on the commercial success that Kryptonite brought, DJ Fresh released the single Louder, the track - used in a Lucozade advertising campaign - became the first dubstep single to reach the top of the UK singles chart. 2012 saw the release of Fresh’s third studio album, Nextlevelism, which featured collaborations with Rita Ora, Dizzee Rascal and Juliette Lewis. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi / iTunes
