Thanks Euphorique! Some classic dance tunes in there
Interesting how every song on the A-list 15 years ago was a top 10 hit (unless I missed any), nothing like that nowadays.

the charts were a lot faster back then and I think we know why...

would be great if the R1 could be bigger but the mass amount of talking on the station is one of its selling points above stations like Capital/Heart which seem to just play music with barely any talking (but they do have adverts)

If only I could just go back in time right now and just listen to all that 2000 music!! My favourite year for music, no wonder we had so many weeks of 12+ new entries with the playlist that varied!

Nothing of interest this week...so it's official theyre snubbing Martin Garrix for the first time :(

The turnout of 2000 was huge at the top, but the amount of new entries in the top10/40 was pretty regular. Nothing too crazy like 1997. It had a nice balance.

The Radio 1 playlist in the early 2000s had a very rhythmic centred playlist. I think it tried to go after Atlantic 252's new "rhythm and dance" sound.

Mura Masa making the INMWT list! *.* Was nearly going to be my BJSC entry this month before I found out randomfurlong was sending one of his other songs. Dodged a bullet of ~cheapness~ there I guess.

Back in 2000 I would never have imagined that Sia would be the most relevant artist left of all of those on that playlist. I always felt like her success was over before it really began...until Titanium.

YASSSSS for Walk The Moon etc...

Hurrah for the addition of DJ Fresh & Rudimental this week! :cheer:

Echo this. Also great to see A$AP Rocky added and Fetty Wap on the A List :o

lol at Radio 1 playlisting Rixton, I expect their new single to easily miss the top 20 and a performance similar to Conor Mayanrd.

Why wont they playlist 'Dear Future Husband'. It's going to miss the top 10 now.

Because as Scott Mills said "It's not that good". It's just a rip-off of Olly Murs 'Dance With Me Tonight' let's face it, so doesn't deserve to be playlisted and I hope it does miss the top 10!!

In other news: YAY at additions for A$AP ROCKY (with Sir Rod) :w00t: , WALK THE MOON  CIRCA WAVES :D and of course can't forget ARIANA!

Seeing Sia being played on radio one 15 years ago shocks me to the core for some reason. Despite the fact I've listened to a lot of her older music and thoroughly enjoyed it it's so strange to see she was current all those years ago.

I'm not Cheerleader's biggest fan but the BBC's refusal to put it on their A-list confuses me especially when it's been number one for two weeks and is set for a long run in the top ten on top of that.

Stranely radio 2 played it too, they must think its had enough support combined.

Anyone know if Sia Breath Me (the song played at the end of the 6 Feet under Finale) was playlised?

I'm currently in the middle of doing 2000 on my girl group top 40 hits thread so seeing that playlist is bringing it all back in relation to some of the songs I've reviewed this week! It definitely shows that Radio 1 are a LOT less eclectic than they used to be.

I find it funny now that Sia is made out to be this massive deal these days when honestly, I'd take 'Taken for Granted' or any of the stuff she did on the first Zero 7 album over any of her stuff these days.

Good to see Ella Eyre getting a lot of support though. To quote Jameela Jamil, I'm not kissing bum but she was amazing on Olly's tour and I hope she'll get a top 10 with this new single of hers.
