Incredible! For perspective, the first non-Merc pole since just after the football World Cup last year started. And the first Ferrari pole since just after Euro 2012 :o

As usual. I ask it is worth watching the highlights of today's Grand Prix?

Definitely, one of the best races of the year (as seems to be the case when Merc don't win ) Loads of action & incidents to keep the casual fans entertained.

This definitely shouldn't happen in F1:

I believe that's the third time in recent years that this happened at a Grand Prix.

Very pleased to see a non-Mercedes win and on the podium as well. Great race indeed. Interesting that Verstappen said "No" to team-orders over giving Sainz Jr 8th place.

Anyone remember these track invaders:

2003 British Grand Prix

2000 German Grand Prix:

Are you sure we watched the same grand prix? There were no overtaking (not even big fights) in the top 7, Kvyat lost out in the pits and because of the safety car. And behind there were some action, but not much to be honest. The only real interesting action were how Verstappen and Sainz Jr overtook some others towards the end of the race.

I thought it was quite a boring race after the exciting British, Hungarian, Belgian and Italian races.

Well maybe it was just because it was a Ferrari at the front it felt refreshing  it will still interesting throughout to see if the Mercs were going to pose a challenge even if in the end they didn't whereas 90% of all other races you knew without doubt they were going to win but there was still a slight element of doubt with this one (in my view anyway). A few crashes & safety cars always brings about more talking points and many races this year hasn't seen either.

And I do agree Britain & Hungary were both brilliant races but I have to ask to same question to you about the Belgian & Italian ones - there were both boring Merc processions. The most exciting part of the Italian weekend was the investigation after not the race

Well to be fair the safety car came in because of a stupid crash between Hulk and Massa. It was stupid because they weren't really fighting before just it was an unlucky situation that hasn't handled well imo. The other safety car came because of the drunken spectator. I must admit I don't want a race being exciting because of a spectator

Well you're maybe right with the Italian grand prix but there were more overtaking. Of course Mercedes were in front in both of the races but there were more action in the lower positions :D

Could Jenson Button announce his retirement from F1 at this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix?

I'm sure that there will be more news of driver line-ups this weekend in Japan.

Let's hope that this weekend in Japan is remembered for a great race and if there is too much standing water or bad light that they stop the race.

Romain Grosjean is to drive for Haas next year leaving a vacant seat at Lotus.

He's still going from a midtable to occasional podium team to a complete backmarker by anyone's expectations. He's not exactly the one driving shite for Lotus this season either, I'm very curious as to this decision.
The rumour is that Roman has moved there for a year to graduate into Kimi's seat for 2017 seeing as Haas is basically Torro Rosso but for Ferrari

I would very be much surprised if Grosjean would take Kimi's seat at Ferrari from 2017. I think he changed because of the financial problems of Lotus and the deal with Renault is still not official (if it's ever happens but I guess it will?)

Rosberg's a lucky bugger.

I didn't see the Qualifying. Was it wet or normal conditions?

Dry conditions. I was certain had Hamilton been able to complete the lap he'd had nabbed pole.

What's the weather forecast for tomorrow? I'm a bit behind this time :(
