September 29, 20159 yr Author I suspect possibly Gutierrez will their other driver as well. Who do people think will replace Romain at Lotus/Renault?
September 30, 20159 yr Well some RBR/STR drivers could be requiring a new home at the end of the year!
October 1, 20159 yr Author Jenson Button has been confirmed as McLaren's driver for 2016. No news on Alonso yet.
October 9, 20159 yr I'm loving the F1 teams Twitter accounts today while they have nothing to do because of disrupted practice sessions! Force India, Williams and Mercedes are all having a joke at the moment about Williams putting on two types of tyre at once the other week and how it'd be useful now in the wet/dry practice session! :heehee:
October 9, 20159 yr Author That was bizarre, the 1st practice session delayed for half an hour because of a diesel spillage.
October 11, 20159 yr Author Very glad to see Sainz Jr is perfectly safe and well after that massive crash in Practice 3. He should be fit to race.
October 11, 20159 yr What did Raikkönen do in the last lap with Bottas??? ARGH I was never really a fan of him, he grown in my eyes when he was driving for Lotus, but since he's back at Ferrari, he's crap and he got another contract for one more year... pleeeeaaaseeeee... (He also almost kicked out his own teammate too) Poor Bottas, that guy should have deserved really that 3rd place, but I'm happy for Perez, and Massa too at 4th. I'm sad for Hülkenberg, one of my faves and a missed opportunity today but also he's a talent who will never drive for a big team.

October 11, 20159 yr 30 sec penalty for Räikkönnen, so it looks like he will finish 8th with that. That also means Mercedes is constructor world champion.
October 11, 20159 yr A fantastic race and it had a real classic feel to it in terms of being a big battle of the strategies and not endless pit-stops (which I do usually like but it worked well not to have them this time round). Being a Force India fan, it was made even more exciting having Perez involved and I noticed pretty quickly that he was potentially in contention for a podium after that fantastic strategic early pit-stop, but I didn't think he'd be able to hold off those with new tyres. I was so gutted for him and Force India when he was passed with just one lap left and hoped in my head that Bottas and Raikkonen would somehow collide - not that I thought it would happen. So I was absolutely thrilled for Perez to sneak back through at the end! It's still incredible that Force India do so well on such a limited budget, and apparently finishing top 5 in the constructors has big financial benefits so it'd be so great for them to hold onto that 5th place. Great job!
October 11, 20159 yr Yeah really enthralling race today, despite Nico's early departure (let's be honest though Lewis would have most likely breezed past him in a similar fashion to the United States GP last year anyway). Mercedes all but confirmed as Constructor's :D
October 11, 20159 yr Alonso got a 5 sec penalty too for cutting a curve, so 10th is Verstappen in the end.
October 11, 20159 yr That's pretty harsh, cutting "A" curve? Must have overtook someone by doing so then I can only think of...
October 11, 20159 yr That's pretty harsh, cutting "A" curve? Must have overtook someone by doing so then I can only think of... I think he did it more times, because he was informed once during the race that he should watch out.
October 11, 20159 yr Author A much better race compared to Japan. Yes Alonso was told to not cut the 'A' curve. A very risky move by Raikkonen on the final lap in desperation here for the podium. He deserved that 30 second penalty. Shame for Bottas who said: What the f*** did he do?" on the radio after that crash. Even though it was usual service for the win. It was a thrilling race in the battle for the podium. Pleased to see Perez get the podium for Force India. Good race from Massa to finish 4th from 15th in the grid and take advantage of the late retirements from Ricciardo, Sainz Jr and Bottas. Pleased to see Grosjean get out of the car following that heavy crash.
