Penny for his thoughts right now. After all the years of hard graft dragging a Ferrari team on its knees to numerous podiums/wins to then be heading for backmarking Mclaren whilst Ferrari themselves look to be back on form...

The RBR domination really didn't bother me because you knew that people could beat them. Germany in 2013 was a spectacular battle between Lotus and Red Bull for example.

This Merc stuff is ridiculous tho. It's so far beyond boring and Hamilton is such a smug little twat. Vettel winning may have been a bit predictable at times but there were some spectacular battles along the way. Not just for second but for first too. Now we know the top two positions and it is so stale and predictable. I just can't.

I saw the result and immediately elected not to watch it.

At least in 2011 and during the first half of 2013. Some teams were able to take the fight to Red Bull. But now it's all Mercedes bar any reliability issues. This could be like last year or 2002/2004 (with Ferrari) all over again. It doesn't say much in F1 when only 15 cars started the race the lowest turn-out in 46 years. Also there's a possibility that Germany will not host a Grand Prix this year due to contract issues.

Possible chance of Toro Rosso being bought by Renault if it plans to make a return:

I am do here for the return of a Renault works team. Having to make do with the de facto team for the time being now that Lotus have been traitorous twats

There'll be no German Grand Prix this year due to financial trouble for Hockenheim and the owners of the Nurburgring changing hands. Looks like another historic race which bits the dust.

Because DRAMA seems to be the order of the 2015 season, it would appear that Red Bull and Renault are at war with each other. After being slagged off constantly since the first 2014 test by Red Bull it looks like Renault has finally found it's balls and taken a stand against Red Bull. (RBR really should watch the hand that feeds it because their primary/only sponsor is Infiniti who are owned by Nissan who are owned and controlled by Renault....)

STR and Renault seem to be getting along just fine, and the rumour is that STR, Lotus, Sauber and Force India are being lined up for a takeover by Renault with STR thought to be the preferred option as it is debt free. I would love a return for a Renault works team now the fuss about crash-gate has vanished.

Fernando Alonso has said following his test crash in Barcelona that he encountered steering problems before the crash and rejected reports that he woke up thinking he was 15, he has also been cleared to race this weekend as has Bottas.

Adrian Newey has been accused of lying following him blaming Red Bull's problems on the Renault engine. Surely that is sour grapes from his front following the domination in 2010-2013.

Completely typical really. One bad season & they throw all their toys out the pram and moan about everything. Funny how they were all fine & dandy when they were dominating. Massive hypocrites too.

I'm just glad to see us standing up to Red Bull finally instead of letting our brand be tarnished because they are having a hissy fit at no longer being dominant.

The engine is only part of the package, and the fact that it was lower than everyone else on power never bothered RBR when they won 4 back to back world titles.

Good to see that Ferrari will provide a big fight to Mercedes following Vettel's victory in Malaysia which takes to within one win of Aryton Senna's total amount of wins of 41.

Again Hamilton moaning about the tyres or anything but himself.

Definitely Ferrari can be title contenders providing they keep up with Mercedes pace.

What do people think of Lewis Hamilton's deal with Mercedes worth more than £27m a year? 86p per second he will earn with Mercedes.

What was this man playing at:

Where was the security?

Not the first time that has happened:

Neil Horan who would then appear on Britain's Got Talent doing an Irish jig.

And this:

Rosberg back to his usual self today (that didn't take long) moaning about Hamilton "being too slow".

Oh the irony, if this was even the case then why didn't you overtake Nico? Again, he knows he's way off Hamilton this season so is resorting to these little accusations to try & ruffle Hamilton's feathers/cause discomfort in the team. Not gonna work Nico, at least try and maintain what reputation you have left in tact.

Another wild race from Pastor Maldonado with a £30m year deal with a Venezuelan state oil company, PDVSA which they pay Lotus. Surely without this. He wouldn't be in F1?

What was this?:

And this crash complication:

Surely if Hamilton was slow, Rosberg. Then he should have passed him. That's a new one about moaning that the person ahead is being slow.

No he absolutely shouldn't. The money is literally the only reason he's still there.

I don't mind him staying though cos F1 needs a good laughing stock once in a while (Luca Badoer was the last one).

He is so far beyond talentless it's unreal. Perhaps instead of wasting $30m on this utter incompetent PDVSA could help normal Venezuelans who can't afford food because the currency is worthless, prices are rising and their wages are static.

An update on Jules Bianchi from his father:

From BBC Sport

Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi's fight to recover from injuries sustained in a crash last year is the equivalent of "running a marathon every day", according to his father.

Bianchi, 25, remains in a coma, six months after the accident in Japan.

"The only thing we can say is that he's fiercely fighting as he always did, before and after the accident," Philippe Bianchi said.

"From a medical point of view, his condition is stable."

The Marussia driver crashed into a recovery vehicle at the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

He sustained a severe head injury and is now under the care of neurosurgeons in his native Nice.

His father, speaking to French newspaper Nice-Matin, added: "Our universe collapsed on 5 October 2014.

"I think that in this type of accident it shocks more than an actual death. The pain is endless - a daily torture.

"Every day, Jules is running a marathon. All of his organs are working without assistance. But, for now, he remains unconscious.

"He's moving forward. So we hope for a new evolution. The next one would be for him to get out of his coma."

Motorsport.com expanded on that a little, saying that apparently he exhibits a wee bit of movement every now and then like squeezing someones hand but they dunno if it's reflex or actual reaction to whats occurring around him.

Hopefully Ferrari will give Mercedes a real fight this weekend in Bahrain for their second night-race.

Currently Ferrari 1-2 in first practice although I won't read too much on that as Mercedes were concentrating on heavy fuel-load work.

Bahrain hasn't really had a classic race until last year has it?

I dunno, the one in 2005 (or 6 was it?) with that huge fight between Alonso & Schumacher was pretty memorable. Alonso just pipped him at the final pit stop in a tight battle all the way through the race.

But yeah last year was still easily the best.
