Intersting timing. Will be curious to see if anyone can make it in time for the 2016 grid.

The last time they opened it was rumoured it was only opened because they had a serious entrant lined up. Interested to see if it's the same this time.

Renault have finally semi-officially admitted that they are not going to remain just an engine supplier and are either going to be all in or all out. They've been sniffing round smaller teams but it wouldn't surprise me if they put in a bid for a brand new team based out of Viry. They already build the engines and they've been a manufacture twice before so have experience on the chassis side too.

I think it's because of the penalties that Max Verstappen and Jenson Button have had, Dobbo.

One thing I never understand in the sport is how they delegate penalties when 2 drivers have them at the same time. Is Verstappen's worth more as it was 10 place one? Who knows

And Button must have changed a gearbox or something as he didn't have a penalty at end of play yesterday.

Is it possible that Alonso could quit McLaren in mid-season?. McLaren really were dreadful yesterday:

An uneventful Canadian Grand Prix to be honest.

I can't see it, where would he go? They should hang in there for the time being if results don't pick next season then it's time for them to call it a day as there's only a few more seasons left for both of them sadly.

If he did go, he would possibly quit F1 if results kept going the way they are with how he has been feeling about how the car performance has been this season. But I think he'll stay until the end of the season.

Surely if F1 bosses wanted to improve people's interest in F1 then they would change some rules for next year.

Congratulations to Nico Hulkenberg who has become the first active F1 driver in 24 years since Johnny Herbert to win the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Even more problems for McLaren, Alonso and Button as both of them will have to take a grid penalty as their engine supplier Honda will have exceeded the number of changes it is allowed to make to the car to improve reliability.

Here's a possibility that Imola could alternate with Monza as a venue for the Italian Grand Prix from 2016.

I'd be glad to see Michelin back. Pirelli are atrocious.

I'd also love to see Imola back. Such a great wee circuit. Never got the love for Monza, it's always so boring.

RBR, and I'd imagine STR too, are considering a tactical engine change this weekend as this will be a Merc-power circuit anyway.

Me too. I'll be glad to see Michelin come back if do. We want tyres where drivers can go flat out every lap.

Imola. It's a great track but it will forever be tainted by the tragic losses of Senna and Ratzenberger although after that the racing was good there. Take Imola 2005 for example with Alonso and Schumacher then that infamous ad break with 4 laps to go.

& then the season after being the exact same situation albeit the other way round! I miss Imola, rarely a dull race & was one of my favourite circuits on the official console games
Still find it amazing how fast this sport changes. As recently as 2012 Red Bull & McLaren were the class of the field, tomorrow they will be filling up the last 4 positions on the grid!

Haven't seen the race yet. Waiting for the highlights on BBC.

Is it worth watching?
