Okay so 7 for me tonight, although I'm a fan of Lithuania in studio version so it's practically 8. Prediction-wise I believe I got 9 out of 10, just had Malta qualifying instead of Israel! Very glad Latvia and Israel both made it, I feared both were out yet again come towards the end of the results reveal so that was particularly pleasing. I expected Czech Republic to come alive live, but it just didn't for me. Maria's vocals were better than I expected but I guess the jury performance last night reduced her chances significantly. Molly underwhelmed for me and Lithuania suffered probably due to the strange sound mix being a bit of a jarring start.

The sound mix was very strange for me tonight, the microphones needed turning up. I thought it was getting better as it went along but then Slovenia's sound mix was one of the worst, luckily they weren't affected. I actually love the fake applause as long as it doesn't become more common than it did tonight, it just makes moments in songs feel even bigger moments - it makes me feel like I'm in the crowd and I love that.

Overall I still believe the first semi-final was the stronger, against popular opinion, but overall the qualifiers this year have been very very good. Only one I'm sad for really is Iceland but I'd accepted a likely DNQ last night!

Finally have we seen this tweet from Michele Perniola? I heard a tweet mentioned in the press conference to Mans so I immediately went to Twitter to find out which artist it was!

@MichelePerniola

Why am I listening to "Lovers on the sun" by David Guetta?!Oh wait a minute it's not that song #Heroes #SWE #Eurovision2015 #buildingbridges

!

He did follow it up later with:

@MichelePerniola

Heyooooo PEOPLEEEEE it was just a joke I love his song! Really. #Heroes #SWE #Eurovision2015 #buildingbridges

yeah I agree, the backing tracks were way too loud tonight, particularly for the first half of the final!
Disappointed Ireland are out but if I'm honest I thought the original version was far better that she performed on eurosong and the staging did nothing for me. Overall I thought it was a poor semi and in general the songs this year don't do it for me,as it stands its among my least fave Eurovisions in terms of songs. Serbia is who I'm rooting for and i think with so many ballads the uk may do better than expected. Im not a huge fan of Sweden's entry bt the staging was great.

I feel like I'm part of the crowd when I'm hearing the actual noise they make (and they actually do make noises, not sure why they felt the need to insert fake ones). Now I can't really tell what noise is actually the audience and which isn't and above all I feel like I'm being distracted from the show. It's the Eurovision equivalent of American comedy's reliance on laughing tracks. If the noise was actually believable as being the audience then it wouldn't be a problem but when it's not it only serves to distract from the songs. There's a reason commentators stop talking during performances - people want to hear performances, that's it.

The fake applause just sounded weird... Hope this isn't something the EBU wants to continue

Very predictable results, I'm quite happy, would've chosen Ireland instead of Lithuania.

WTF was that Slovenia performance though.. Everything in it was just WEIRD. The horrible table cloth dress, camera angles, those earphones.. Didn't get anything. Glad they survived because the song is pretty strong.

If this was the lowest score I wonder how low score one can actually get :P Poor kids.

it's hard out here for a (sammarinese) bitch
they didn't but ESC is (extremely) popular in the Netherlands, whereas here it's very unpopular and seen as a farce.

Actually no it wasn't

Hardly a million people bothered to tune in to the final in the 7 years we flopped. It got popular again due to Anouk.

From both semifinals only 1 song (from Cyprus) sounds like a deserved Eurovision winner.

Sadly, peoples will vote for crap, such as Latvia, Georgia, Serbia and Israel.

Very good :

1. Monika Linkytė & Vaidas Baumila - This Time : 9/10 (I prefer their perfomance from Lithuanian National Final)

Good :

2. Molly Sterling - Playing With Numbers : 8/10 (Best Irish ESC song in last 40 years)

3. Maria Olafs - Unbroken : 8/10 (Underrated, grow up for me)

Not bad :

4. Monika Kuszynska - In The Name Of Love : 7/10 (Main disappointment of Semifinal 2)

5. Anita Simoncini & Michele Perniola - Chain Of Lights : 7/10 (Not the level of amazing Valentina, but good)

6. John Karayiannis - One Thing I Should Have Done : 7/10 (Deserve to be a winner of contest)

In the middle :

7. Maraaya - Here For You : 6/10 (Sounds better, than I thought)

8. Mans Zelmerlow - Heroes : 6/10 (It's all about visuals, song is nothing special, obvious winner in this year)

9. Amber - Warrior : 5/10

10. Melanie Rene - Time To Shine : 5/10

11. Morland & Debrah Scarlett - A Monster Like Me : 5/10 (dislike Debrah's voice, Morland's solo could get 6/10)

Nothing interesting:

12. Knez - Adio : 4/10

13. Marta Jandova & Vaclav Noid Barta - Hope Never Dies : 4/10

14. Leonor Andrade - Ha Um Mar Que Nos Separa : 3/10

Bad :

15. Elnur Huseynov - Hour Of The Wolf : 2/10

Very bad :

16. Nadav Guedj - Golden Boy : 1/10

Equal to FKA Twigs, both eqaul to huge piece of shit, only for peoples with awful music taste :

17. Aminata - Love Injected : - 10 / 10

The logic of a song that is "not bad" being more deserving of winning than a "good" or "very goo" song :drama:

Deserved winner is not always equal my favourite song from contest.

For simple : Alexander Rybak was very deserved winner, even if Suzanne Georgi was my # 1 in 2009.

oh alex bless ha :')

The canned applause is absolutely dire, what on earth is the need?

Heroes was incredible as always, please win Mans!

What happened with Iceland?! :(

Me and my friend were totally pro Iceland but watching that live performance we both felt she didn't deserve to get through - it was a bit of a trainwreck vocally :(, which is a shame because it was a great song.

Therefore we can all agree them not sending SUNDAY was a big mistake.

That's a shame to hear! :( Reminds me of 'Je T'adore' in the sense that it sounds like such an easy qualifier and hit, but completely bombed due to a poor performance :(
