August 9, 20159 yr They should make a law to protect local musicians. Like 10-20% must be Australian or something  I think they have this in The Netherlands as well but I'm not sureThere are regulations for that; top 40/contemporary hits stations have to play 25% Australian content I believe, and as far as I've seen they always meet those quotas. It's just they're not quite desperate enough to play Samantha Jade  I think she's done quite a few radio appearances and had made the Shazam chart (meaning people must have been hearing it somewhere), so she hasn't been completely ignored. Her best hope will be an X Factor performance launch for her next single, she's long overdue for one (her only post-win performance has been 'Firestarter', after it had been falling down the charts for 2 months). That's if Sony haven't given up on her yet, I'm always thinking 'if this doesn't do well she won't get another chance' (I only bought 'Shake That' to try to help  though I've ended up quite liking it).
October 29, 20159 yr From David Fuller on Facebook: Shake that has re-entered the The Music networks hot 100 airplay chart at no 86. It is being rotated on 11 metro, 19 Provincial and 24 regional stations. It has finally been added to Nova 96.9, nova 100, nova 91.9, nova 93.7. Shake that is also the 5th most added song to radio this week. Not sure why it has been added to Nova after all this time, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless. So it looks like the theory of giving Shake That a second chance is likely to happen. I can see Sony working things out with radio stations to play the song and Sammy performing the track on X Factor.
November 1, 20159 yr "Shake That" is being played more and more on radio. The song keeps on rising on iTunes too. Currently #393 (+1 107) on iTunes Australia. We need that x factor performance now :D
November 1, 20159 yr Author Could this finally become that hit it deserves to become? Glad to see radio is picking her up again
November 1, 20159 yr Yeah this radio support from Nova is really surprising since they never added the song to their playlists back when Shake That was released. So really happy they finally decided to support her. We just need some tv promo again (with Pitbull if possible) and the song could have a second life :)
November 4, 20159 yr She's performing on X Factor next tuesday! :D If she does Shake That it will be one of the most dragged out flop singles.
November 4, 20159 yr X Factor usually does give a fairly significant boost (like Jessica Mauboy from #76 to #8, something like that, although she had good physical sales too) but I doubt with how low it is now coming from nowhere it'll repeak, if it does it will be just inside the top 30. Then again for a lot of viewers it will be a new song so maybe she can nab a low top 20 which would be amazing for her.
November 4, 20159 yr I'm in the other camp. I think it might just scrape the top 50 if she performs it. I think most of her fans watch The X Factor and will already have it. I hope I'm wrong though.
November 4, 20159 yr I think X Factor will have a lot of casual buyers though, like Jessica Mauboy scraped a #41 at first off her fanbase then vaulted back up a couple of weeks after with X Factor. If the song connects with a good performance, she could get around top 40 again. But if it doesn't repeak (which is unlikely I admit) it'll be a pointless re-release really, but oh well we're all used to disappointments from Sammy by now
November 5, 20159 yr From David Fuller on Facebook: Great news on the radio front this week. Shake That has jumped from 86 to 45 on the Music Networks Hot 100, its highest ever position on that particular chart :o This week it has been added to I98FM, 2bs gold and 97.3 Coast FM. Shake That is also charting on various radio and other charts as follows Australian Artists-no 9 (up from no 16 last week) Contemporary Hit Radio-no 38 Metro-no 40 NSW-no 42 SA & NT-no 37 Vic-no 43 WA-no 47 Australian Social Media chart-no 20 Shazam-no 65 Quite a few of these charts positions are the highest that Shake That has ever been on those respective charts.
