January 19, 20169 yr New buzz track: I do love the production and it is very true to old school mixtape Tinashe which I like but I can't help but feel slightly underwhelmed. I feel like all of 'Player', 'Party Favors' and now 'Energy' have been very strong in a 8.0/10.0 way rather than hitting the massive highs we saw on 'Aquarius'. I think it's because I love 'Aquarius' so much that I feel like this but I just feel like if you put any of the three new songs on her first album they would only be better than 'Far Side Of The Moon' and 'Pretend'. Glad to have new music again though and I am so happy this campaign seems to have moved forward.
January 19, 20169 yr 'Party Favors' is definitely up there with her best for me! Still listening to it every day and it's my most played Tinashe track now! So good. 'Player' was good at first but got old very quickly, definitely weaker than most of 'Aquarius' if not all of it. I'm liking the sound of 'Energy', I love the more subdued tracks. Think it could be one to worm its way into my brain. Edited January 19, 20169 yr by Cremey
January 24, 20169 yr http://www.at40.com/news-article/tinashe-r...ing-album/39663 It looks as though the push-backs may have been due to a change of heart over the album sound. The fact that most of the tracks were either recorded in her home studio or with the same producers that worked on 'Aquarius' says to me that they weren't convinced that the more poppy route of 'Player' was what they completely wanted. Also another new song next week. Hopefully this one will actually be official single #2 after 'Player' as we really need it now (& hopefully it can capitalise off the success of AMF)
January 25, 20169 yr There is no way in hell they are going to release it out of the blue, they don't want her having two flop albums. As she said in the video I posted above she said new music was coming in the next week so maybe she is releasing the title track on Friday and someone has misunderstood?
January 31, 20169 yr Just said in a radio interview an hour ago that the album is being released in March and also confirmed the album will indeed include 'All My Friends' within the tracklist. I have faith that this time it's for real given the tour dates. Getting a new single anytime now would be great then T.
February 2, 20169 yr Semi related, but Billboard published a video of the top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and as it came to Rihanna - Work at number 9, the audio was Tinashe's 'Watch Me Work'!  Amazing.
February 3, 20169 yr So according to the description in this video, it appears it is single two? zpdY6HtYVy0 I was about to say that I loved it and that I was glad it was so much better than 'Energy' but as an official single I'm left really disappointed again. Was she really expecting to smash with this? So much for the 'I won't be ignored' tag line for the trailer for Joyride. This new material is going to make sure you are ignored. As an album track I'd more than enjoy it, it's just I had bigger hopes for my girl :(
February 3, 20169 yr Yeah. This is definitely not a smash. It's not even a minor hit. It's possibly my least fave thing I've heard so far. I don't mean that in a "omg it's f***ing awful/unlistenable". It's just so... nothingy. :(
February 3, 20169 yr I hope it is just another buzz single because it will not get picked up by mainstream radio :(
February 3, 20169 yr I've never been disappointed in anything Tinashe related until this :(. I hope it doesn't end up being a single.
February 3, 20169 yr I'm just hoping that it's going to be an ANTI type scenario whereby the campaign is so messy and the songs heard before are disappointing and then BAM, the album is a fantastic record and could even rival Aquarius. I just don't really get what's happening here
February 3, 20169 yr A Tinashe single getting underwhelming reviews even on Buzzjack? It really must be dreadful! :o
